Adaptive Reuse. Existing buildings with unique neighborhood character should repurposed for retail or office space to improve sense of place. Signage. Appropriately scaled signage highlights the street’s commercial presence while keeping in character with the neighborhood. Streetscape. Providing landscaping and improved lighting along Avenue H will create a more cohesive feeling throughout the neighborhood. Street lighting should Sidewalks. Implementing sidewalks on both sides of Avenue H will create a more walkable and pedestrian friendly environment. Infill. Any new construction should use materials and colors that match the existing character of the corridor. Alleys should be used for parking access to minimize road disturbances.
