DESCRIPTION Adventure based camp providing campers with an unforgettable summer experience! Activities include archery, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, a variety of field trips, and much more! Introduces children to the wonderful world of science through hands-on, engaging, make & take projects and experiments. Do you love bling? Learn to make trendy, sparkly, wearable art while making new friends that share your interests. Design and create jewelry, hair bows and headbands, a tutu, and a cap! If you love video games, you don’t want to miss Gaming Day Camp. This camp offers a fun place for kids to do what they love, play video games and meet new friends. Enjoy the video game bus and friendly competitions.
DESCRIPTION Yee Haw! Dress up in western gear, learn some boot scootin’ songs and dances, create some country crafts, and get ready for the BIG rodeo! Parents will be invited to attend the Rodeo and Cowboy Cookout on the last day of camp. Let your creative and artistic side come alive! Learn about different types of art and create expressive masterpieces. This is a very hands-on program, so please wear old clothes that can get extra messy. The Tap Tap Art Bus will be onsite daily for some art camp fun! Flip into summer at gymnastics camp! Learn the basic movements of gymnastics while jumping, flipping, and having fun. Each day will include a fun craft and snack. This camp is for beginner students. Why should kids be the only ones who get to go to camp? Gramp Camp is designed for grandparents and their grandchildren to enjoy a morning of quality time, summer camp style! Create memories that will last a lifetime and learn the values of generations past. Sauté, simmer, slice, bake, and blend to create delicious foods! Campers will create an assortment of dishes and desserts, as well as learn all about cooking safety and reading recipes. A little music, a little dancing, and a LOT of fun learning! Kinder Kamp is full of activities that are designed to stimulate your child’s creativity all while having fun. Children will also enjoy a snack and craft time. This is going to be a “dog gone” good mini-camp! Bring your pooch and teach them some fun agility skills and tricks. Student and dog teams will practice their skills by playing a variety of games. Get up close with all sorts of furry, purry, creepy, crawly, feathered, fuzzy, wet and wild things! Designed to allow children a hands-on experience with animals, while learning about different varieties of pets and proper pet care. Five adventure filled days where campers will tune into the natural world. �We will immerse campers into the inner workings of ranch life. Daily activities include a Cowboy Cookout, Cowboy Concept of the Day, Ranch Safety, and daily stations to include roping, horsemanship, arts and crafts, and riding. Improv, melodrama, stand up comedy, musical theater, and technique - this camp is an actor’s playground! Act, sing, dance, produce, and play in this fun, loving, and supportive environment. Learn cheers, chants, jumps, dance and the basic fundamentals of cheerleading. At the end of camp, participants will perform a routine they have worked on throughout the week for family and friends. Designed for beginner or intermediate cheerleaders. The force awakens in this engineering course for young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects such as LEGO X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination! Bring Minecraft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO! Build engineer-designed projects such as a motorized Creeper, a portal to the Nether, and a moving Minecart! Whether you are new to Minecraft and LEGO or a seasoned veteran, you’ll be hooked on the endless creative possibilities. It’s going to be a rollin’ good time at the 2016 Summer Skate Camp! It’s fitness and fun rolled into one. Qualified instructors will teach skaters how to safely and properly skate in a fun, friendly way. Daily activities will include skating lessons, crafts, group games, snacks, and recreational skating. Get your little ninja out of the house and into Ninja Warrior Camp! All ninjas will learn discipline, skills and the secret ways of the ancient ninjas. Daily activities will include ninja skills training, group games, crafts, and snack time. This camp guides kids through a variety of activities to learn the social skills of cooperation, communication, making good choices, managing feelings, and self-esteem. Campers will make new friends, have fun, and grow personally in a fun and safe environment. A mini camp designed specifically for special needs children to experience summer camp in their own special way. DESCRIPTION Tiny Tots Sports Camp will teach participants the fundamental rules and techniques of several sports. Sports will consist of basketball, t-ball, and soccer. Dribble, pass, and shoot! Players will master basic techniques and participate in drills for both offense and defense. Kids need daily exercise and physical activity to stay healthy, so let’s experience fitness the fun way! At Kid Fit Camp, campers will have a great time exercising through many different recreational sports and games. Activities will include group exercise classes, tennis, basketball, soccer, rock wall climbing, racquetball and swimming. Mid-morning snack and drinks included. Limited to 15. Bump, set, spike! Learn these skills and much more at volleyball camp. Whether you are a beginner or intermediate, the instructor will teach you the necessary skills to help you in the upcoming volleyball season.
DESCRIPTION Bring your favorite Minecraft characters to life in an animated short film! �Learn how movie studios make movies through using techniques like key framing, tweening, texturing, and animating rigged 3D models!
If you love Minecraft and always wanted to design your own characters and buildings for your games, this class is for you. Learn the basics of 3D modeling to design your very own characters and import them into your favorite Minecraft games. Use your favorite game to learn the basics of modding and foundations of programming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mod! Introductory coding will also be taught through a simulated environment inspired by Minecraft.
Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favorite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. This class brings your dreams to the screen! Unlock the keys to game design by choosing your own adventure! Unlike any other game design course, students in this program will make special top-down adventure games like Pokémon or Zelda to compete with their friends. Design unlimited rooms and levels as you continue your quest in becoming a game design master.
DESCRIPTION Whether your child has been playing for years or has never swung a club before, the Sammons Junior Golf Academy is the perfect opportunity to teach them the game of golf. Kids ages 6 to 17 will learn the skills, rules, and beauty of the game. Upon graduation from the Academy, students will receive a SJGA polo style shirt, hat, and a certificate of completion. Please register your child in person at Sammons Golf Links located at 2727 W. Adams in Temple. Space is limited to the first 15 students for 6-10 year olds and the first 20 for the 11-17 year olds. Due to the success of the Sammons Junior Golf Benefit Tournament, we have purchased all new equipment for teaching this year. If your child does not have clubs, we are able to provide them for the camps. Having this equipment will help us to properly teach the fundamentals of the swing and instill proper technique for your child.

DESCRIPTION Learn what it is like to be a lifeguard! From basic rescue techniques, first aid, and other pool procedures. Candidates must be able to swim 25 yards front crawl, tread water for 60 seconds, and swim to a depth of 10ft. Includes: whistle, visor, t-shirt, and lanyard. Register at Sammons Indoor Pool.

Children are introduced how to enter and exit water using a ladder, steps or side, blow bubbles through mouth and nose, submerge mouth, nose and eyes, open eyes under water and retrieve submerged objects. They will also learn front and back glides and recover to vertical position, back float and recover to a vertical position, roll from front to back and back to front, tread with arm and hand actions, alternating and simultaneous arm and leg actions on front and back. Everything will be performed with assistance from instructor.

DESCRIPTION Orients children to the aquatic environment and helps them gain basic aquatic skills. (3 - 5 years old) Introduction to Water Skills. This will include gliding and floating with assistance, blowing bubbles and opening eyes under water. Fundamental Water Skills. Building on Level One, students will be able to do the skills unassisted. Stroke Development. Students will learn the Front Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, diving, and various kicking styles. Primary Skills and Stroke Development. This class will help adults to feel more comfortable in the water and to develop confidence in the Front Crawl, Back Crawl, Elementary Backstroke, as well as an introduction to the Breaststroke.
