Plymouth College offers an exceptional range of enrichment activities Clubs and activities run during lunchtimes, after school and at weekends and numerous residential trips take place in the school holidays to further add to the extra-curricular offer. The enrichment activities are designed to complement the provision in the academic curriculum. All pupils are encouraged to participate daily in order to aid their personal development; this could be discovering new skills or developing existing talents. Form tutors monitor pupils’ involvement and help guide their choices. The provision for sport, outdoor education, music and drama is truly outstanding and supports the notion of ‘Where Everything is Possible’.

ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT Plymouth College is passionate about nurturing academia - in whatever form that may be. Alongside a broad curriculum, we have a comprehensive academic enrichment programme designed to place our pupils in the best position possible for a variety of pathways after their time with us - be it in the world of work, or academia. ENRICHMENT The Music Department’s ethos is to give every pupil the opportunity to try an instrument and be part of a choral group. Our Musical Clubs are deliberately varied with the aim of offering as much choice to our pupils to encourage personal development in this important area of school life. Whether you want to develop an existing skill, take up a new instrument or just have fun with friends in the popular Glee Club we have something for everyone. Our Drama Clubs are both teacher and pupil leader led, designed to make the activity inclusive ensuring our pupils are given the opportunity to develop their confidence and public performance. BOARDING At weekends boarders can go off-site for group activities. Making the most of our city centre location, as well as our close proximity to the beautiful moors and beaches of the South West. Activities range from cinema trips and paintballing to boat trips, moorland walking, surfing and dry-slope skiing.These activities are not only a lot of fun but are a great way of building team spirit and confidence. All of these activities are in addition to the many clubs, music and drama opportunities, theatre trips, outdoor pursuits, sports matches and practices that take place during lunchtimes, after school and at weekends for the whole school. Our boarding staff recreate the best qualities of family life in the boarding house. Our inclusive school weekday and weekend activity programmes provide them with a sense of community and growth in independence. Our pupils progress from childhood to adulthood in a wonderfully caring environment.

SPORTS & EXERCISE In addition to the two scheduled weekly Games lessons; we have an after school sports activity programme designed to stretch and challenge as well as being mindful of all abilities and interests. OUTDOOR EDUCATION AND LEADERSHIP Outdoor Education is all about getting out there, getting stuck in, giving it a go and having fun. It does not matter how old you are, or what your abilities might be, Outdoor Education offers something for everyone, and for some people it is everything. Outdoor Education can be an exceedingly personal thing, but is also very sociable and individuals learn about their own boundaries, comfort zones and their place in the world. Plymouth enjoys a great location in the South West, the moors and the sea offer unrivalled days out. We enjoy many great climbing and biking locations, and boast some of the best rivers for kayaking on.The caving is reasonable, but we make the most of what the UK has to offer and run trips to many other areas with breathtaking mountains or premier caves. • Outdoor Discoverers’ Club*. ARTS & CREATIVE We want our pupils to be able to express themselves in a variety of outcomes; for that reason we have a wide range of activities open to all year groups to fine tune their abilities. Our excellent on site facilities ensure we can offer activities to challenge pupils or empower them to learn a new creative skill.
