THE OLD BINH LOI RAILWAY BRIDGE
Located next to Binh Loi Bridge is the legend that is now neglected. For over 120 years, this bridge has been witnessing many historical events in the city. This is the first bridge across the Saigon River since 1902 of the early 20th century, helping people and trains move across the river.
Specifications of this project with an overall length of 276m and 6 spans. Because of the low static level of only 1.8m, there is a 90-degree rotating span on the Thu Duc side for ships to pass, but now it is no longer rotating and this is also the part that is kept for conservation.
The building has a steel arch structure, and steel bars connected by rivets, the bridge deck is mounted from large wood panels and railway tracks connecting Saigon, Thu Duc, and Bien Hoa. On May 8, 2020, the building has been dismantled because it is too old, so it gradually deteriorated seriously. However, with a long history and cultural values, the 2 old iron bridges and the watchtower on the Thu Duc bank were kept for conservation.
Binh Loi Railway Bridge brings to itself an ancient beauty, the beauty of history, of a witness of wars. Each wooden bar, dome, and railing to the surrounding scenery creates an extremely classic and quiet space, the stillness of the hustle and bustle of urban life.

The vast blue sky and the smooth-flowing Saigon River create a beauty that is not extravagant but very peaceful and poetic.
