Letter from the President This is your association and we encourage you to participate in as many of IPLOCA’s initiatives as possible. Details for the coming year are outlined in this newsletter, including important deadlines, such as due dates for submissions of your HSE statistics, and for the IPLOCA awards. It is also noteworthy that the implementation grid proposed by the temporary Strategy Committee is moving forward as planned. As a reminder, the submission of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Statistics is an obligation for Regular Members and in addition we welcome statistics from our Associate Members who have field construction activities. The online form is available at www.iploca.com/hsestatistics along with guidelines and translations to assist you. An indication of upcoming regional meetings is published later in this newsletter. Further details may be found on our website as dates approach, and will be emailed to company representatives in their particular region. Directors on the Board are already making arrangements for the Regional Meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan taking place just before the next board meeting. During the Spring Novel Construction Session, being held in Athens from 8 to 9 April, in addition to presentations on new technology developments, the work groups will meet to continue editing and adding to the content of “The Road to Success” app. For those members wishing to make a submission for the IPLOCA awards, further details and deadlines are provided on page 18. Three awards will be presented during the convention in Prague: the IPLOCA Health & Safety Award sponsored by Chevron, the IPLOCA Environmental Award sponsored by Shell and the IPLOCA Excellence in Project Execution Award. Arrangements for the 54th Annual Convention are well advanced. We are pleased to say that the programme will continue to have a strong business focus, with B2B (Business to Business) meetings and Poster sessions being offered once again. This year our Board of Directors decided on an overall theme for the event: “Pipelines Powering a Sustainable Future”. During our next board meeting in March, we will be selecting pertinent speakers and panel members for the Open General Meetings. You will find more details about the convention on page 17 of this newsletter. Make sure you have blocked the dates in your diary and note that registration will open one month earlier this year on 4 May. Best regards,

Iosif Panchak IPLOCA President 2019-2020
