OBSERVATION Paxton Gate’s Curiosities for Kids San Francisco, CA They do not carry any toys that is specifically for children with disabilities with an emphasis towards Autism, or Down Syndrome.
OBSERVATION One of the series of toys they recommended is the “The Grimm’s”. These colorful wooden toys have a lot of different patterns, with the color and their patterns will give disabilities children interest.
OBSERVATION The other toy they recommended is the “Felt Mosaic�. It is a set of colorful myriad of triangularshaped felt pieces. With the colorful colors and the felt texture will caught disabilities children attention.

Safety & Durability: very durable based on steel frame which also provides collision safety. The wheels/ handles look like they can be of concern as the handles/ wheels may hit the children’s hands. The seat belt also gives added protection 6. Adjustability/Flexibility of Use: everything looks stationary, giving not much adjustability or flexibility at all. 7. Accommodates Child’s Individual Abilities: develops arm and grip strength 8. Multi-sensory appeal/stimulation: great amount of stimulation in being forced to use both hands/arms to go straight. 9. Motor skill/mobility enhancement: reduces ATNR from constantly using the arms and hands 10. Potential for Interaction: I feel like this toy may be a hit or miss. While it looks fun to use, it may also look intimidating. 11. Toy Features: a rugged, durable toy 12. Material use: plastic, rubber, metal

Safety & Durability: aside from the feet which may or may not stick out, the child is protected in the foam 6. Adjustability/Flexibility of Use: the description states that the child sitting inside is able to move in wheel chair motion as well as being pushed via handle. 7. Accommodates Child’s Individual Abilities: develops arm and grip strength in both children if being used by two kids. 8. Multi-sensory appeal/stimulation: lots of stimulation, however, I can only imagine any use by on child at a time. 9. Motor skill/mobility enhancement: reduces ATNR from constantly using the arms and hands and improves motor skills 10. Potential for Interaction: great potential, the styling of it as well as lighter weight makes it easier for children to use. 11. Toy Features: able to be used by one or two children at a time, highly attractive styling 12. Material use: plastic, metal, high density foam.

PROPOSAL A toy which will aid in the development of children who have Hypotonia.
The child will be encouraged to do repetitive motions to increase the strength and tone in arms.
Children using the toy will also be encouraged to hold themselves up while using. The toy will also be able to be used dynamically to allow further use as the child gets older or if the child loses interest in one of the activities The toy will be made out of wood for a non electrical model and plastic for electrical models.
