Allen first won the award in the film Paupahan, Dukot, Magkakabaung, at Bomba. “Noong bata pa po ako, noong hindi pa ako nag-aartista, kapag yung artista po, magaling umarte, sinasabi nila, ‘Uy! and siblings. Enzo Pineda won the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his role in He Who Is Without Sin. “Thank you so much, FAMAS, for this prestigious award!” he said at the awards rites. And it’s truly an honor to be receiving this tonight. And finally po, masasabi ko na sa magulang ko na, ‘Ma, Pa, finally… after 12 years sa showbiz, may acting award na ako! And this is for you, guys!’ “Thank you so much sa lahat ng judges ng FAMAS, at sa lahat po ng bumubuo ng FAMAS, thank you so much in believing in my talent,” Enzo said. The winners were announced In a pre-recorded ceremony streamed on the group’s YouTube channel. The leading films each had 11 nominations—”Magikland,” crime thriller “Watch List,” and romantic drama “”On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets.” They were followed by “Fan Girl” which had nine nominations, drama-thriller “Untrue” with eight, and zombie thriller “Block Z” with seven. Singer-songwriter Nicole Laurel Asensio opened the show. In her opening remarks, Famas President Francia Camacho Conrado noted that the Filipino film industry faced various uncertainties due to the pandemic. “Ikinalungkot ng industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino ang pagpanaw ng marami nating kasamahan ng dahil sa pandemya. Malungkot man, ngunit kailangan nating magpatuloy lumaban. The Filipino film industry responded to the extraordinary challenges posed by the pandemic,” she said. “Film productions stalled by the pandemic engaged in virtual production techniques coupled with the required quarantine lockdowns. Nagbago man ang ating pamaraan ng ating paggawa ng pelikula ng dahil sa pandemya kasabay ng bagong panlasa ng mga manonood sa uri ng pelikula na kanilang nais matunghayan,” Conrado added. “I am very much confident that the Filipino film industry will bounce back. That despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the fire and passion of the Philippine filmmakers will remain. Laban lamang tayo sa galaw ng panahon,” she said. “It has been almost two years since the coronavirus spread across the world. Film productions have stopped. Shootings and cinemas have closed all at once,” she said. Ms. Francia added: “The fire and passion of the Philippine filmmakers remain. Laban lamang tayo sa galaw ng panahon. Pasasaan ba, maaaring bukas, makalawa, sa tulong at awa ng ating mahal na Panginoon, ay tuluyan nang magwakas itong pandemya.”
