Neptune Theatre is located on sacred land that has been the site of human activity since time immemorial. We are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.

As artists, we are grateful to work and build community here. As stewards of culture, we commit to continuing to improve our relations with Indigenous people and upholding values of collaboration and inclusivity in all that we do.

We recommend that masks be worn in our venues. As our theatres place the audience so close to the action on stage, masking helps protect not only audience members but also the actors, who cannot wear masks when performing. By keeping them safe, we all can help prevent COVID-related performance cancellations.

Any videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited. The use of cameras, cellular phones, paging devices and all other recording devices is strictly prohibited in the theatre. Please ensure all cellular phones and watch alarms are turned off. Neptune Theatre is a scent-free environment.

Neptune Theatre is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres and engages, under the terms of the Canadian Theatre Agreement, professional Artists who are members of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Neptune Theatre engages professional technicians represented by IATSE Local 680.

Welcome to Neptune Theatre’s Production of Disney’s Frozen

Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s Frozen includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.

In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven, and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.

Disney’s Frozen is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love. We are thrilled to bring this incredible production filled with magic, humor, and a stunning musical score to you.

From all of us at Neptune, we hope you enjoy this musical phenomenon that has taken the world by storm!

At long last we are actually contractually allowed to sing ‘Let It Go’ in the corridors of Neptune without having to put a dollar in the jar!

Welcome to the amazing theatrical phenomenon from the “house of mouse,” Disney’s Frozen. What an absolute honour to be the first Regional Canadian production of this amazing show. It’s a thrill to be first out of the gate, bringing our patrons a night with Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf and the rest, ahead of the rest of the country.

I would like to pay tribute to the hundreds of artisans that work behind the scenes, as well as below and above the stage, to bring our shows to life. This show stretched our team to the max, but I have to say that once again they pulled it off magnificently.

Our cast and creative team, along with stage management and our LIVE BAND are an awesome gathering of talent. It’s been a pleasure coming to work, to play!

We have emerged from a pandemic with our resolve and commitment in strong condition to continue producing world class theatre. We applaud our audiences for returning. We would not be here without your support. If this is your first time here this year, I implore you to check out more shows in this year’s line-up. From beautiful plays like Controlled Damage and Casey & Diana, to infectious comedy like New Canadian Curling Club, a spectacular cabaret/musical tribute Josephine, to our next big musical, the outrageous Little Shop of Horrors, we have an amazing variety of live performances for you to enjoy.

Have a great time with us. Ushers and bar staff are standing by to make your visit as special as possible.

Finally, if you enjoy the show, please spread the word about Neptune Theatre and all that we do. So often I hear from people on the street that ‘they’ve always meant to come see a show.’ It’s my hope to encourage those people to join us and experience that wonderful feeling of anticipation as the lights dim and the curtain rises.

Disney’s Frozen has been a complete joy to create for you. I hope I get to see you while you are here.

See you at the theatre

CHAIRS’S MESSAGE

As I step into my new role as Chair of Neptune Theatre’s Board, I’m honored to welcome you to the Canadian Regional Premiere of Disney’s Frozen. This production reflects Neptune’s commitment to bringing world-class theatre to Nova Scotia, and I’m excited to share this moment with all of you.

Neptune exists because of you—our patrons and donors. Your continued support brings stories to life that inspire, challenge, and connect us. Every performance is a testament to the generosity and passion of this community.

Theatre is more than what happens on stage. It’s a vital part of building healthy, vibrant communities. It strengthens culture, fosters empathy, and creates shared experiences that bring us together. At Neptune, we’re proud to play this role in Halifax, helping to shape the cultural fabric of our city.

As the year comes to a close, I invite you to consider making a donation to Neptune. Your support fuels productions like Frozen and sustains essential programs such as education, scholarships, and community outreach. Every contribution—big or small—makes a real difference in ensuring Neptune’s continued impact.

Thank you for being part of Neptune’s story. Your support means everything, and I look forward to all we’ll create together in the years to come.

Welcome to the Canadian Regional Premiere of Disney’s Frozen! We are elated to welcome you to a transformed Fountain Hall. The performance you will witness tonight is a testament to the talent found in Canada, and right here in Halifax.

As a producing theatre Neptune has hired 95 artists, performers, and artisans to bring the magic of Frozen to the stage. This team will have spent over 25,000 hours on this production, both on stage and off, to share with you, our audience. In addition to the individuals focused on making Frozen, Neptune employs 87 staff and has 55 volunteers who make everything possible. We are incredibly proud of our team!

By choosing to attend our production you are helping employ almost 200 people, and ensuring a strong and healthy arts scene in our city.

Thank you for spending your time with us, building memories, and sharing in a fabulous story about sisterhood and being true to yourself. Happy holidays!
