Neptune Theatre is located on sacred land that has been the site of human activity since time immemorial. We are in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq, and we acknowledge them as the past, present and future caretakers of this land.
As artists, we are grateful to work and build community here. As stewards of culture, we commit to continuing to improve our relations with Indigenous people and upholding values of collaboration and inclusivity in all that we do.
We recommend that masks be worn in our venues. As our theatres place the audience so close to the action on stage, masking helps protect not only audience members but also the actors, who cannot wear masks when performing. By keeping them safe, we all can help prevent COVID-related performance cancellations.
Any videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited. The use of cameras, cellular phones, paging devices and all other recording devices is strictly prohibited in the theatre. Please ensure all cellular phones and watch alarms are turned off. Neptune Theatre is a scent-free environment.
Neptune Theatre is a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres and engages, under the terms of the Canadian Theatre Agreement, professional Artists who are members of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association. Neptune Theatre engages professional technicians represented by IATSE Local 680.

THE FULL MONTY 7
A BOISTEROUS, POP-ROCK-MUSICAL SEND-UP OF GENDER EXPECTATIONS AND STEREOTYPES... THAT TAKES IT ALL OFF.
While spying on their wives at a “Girls’ Night Out,” a group of unemployed steelworkers sees how much they enjoy watching male strippers. Jealous, out of work and feeling emasculated, the men come up with a bold and unclothed way to make some quick cash. In preparing, they find themselves extremely exposed; not merely physically but emotionally. As they conquer their fears, self-consciousness and prejudices, the men come to discover that they’re stronger as a group, and the strength that they find in each other gives them the individual courage to “let it go”.
With a mix of razor-sharp humor and pizazz, this heartwarming, upbeat comedy is filled with honest affection, engaging melodies and the most highly anticipated closing number of any show.
Will these lovable misfits really pull it off?

THE FULL MONTY 9 ABOUT THE PLAY
I’ve been pondering The Full Monty ever since Jeremy asked me to helm this Neptune production. I loved the movie back when I saw it in the late 90s. I saw and loved the musical interpretation on Broadway in the early 2000s. What is it about this story? I think that we can see ourselves in these characters - the struggles, the vulnerabilities, the small wins. I approached the major themes of the show through a 2024 audience perspective. I asked – is toxic masculinity present in our society today? We’ve come a long way as a whole since the late 90s, but there is still work to do. In telling the story through the lens of our 12-year old child, Nathan, on the brink of maturity, my hope is that we reflect on how we uphold and perpetuate toxic masculinity and its values still, today.
I have so many people to thank. First and foremost, to Jeremy Webb, thank you for bringing me out to Halifax and giving me the opportunity to meet and work with the community. To Lyndsey Britten – my right arm – thank you for your work, your artistry, your dedication, and for always having my back. To my collaborators – Lisa, Kevin, Holly, Leigh Ann, Joe, Helena, Sam, Karen – thank you for your contributions to the vision. Thank you to the cast for your trust, and to everyone at Neptune for making my experience so wonderful. And finally to you, the audience, thank you for being here and sharing this experience with us.

12 THE FULL MONTY
A MESSAGE FROM NEPTUNE THEATRE
As my first full season at Neptune winds to a close, it’s hard not to be proud of the work we’ve done. We’ve seen runaway smash hits, uproarious comedies, and impactful dramas hit our stages this season, and I’m delighted to welcome you to this nine time Tony Award nominated musical!
The Full Monty is both a heartfelt and outrageous comedy. Tackling the topics of toxic masculinity, mental health, racism, and classicism while wrapping them up in a sparkly thong, this show is more relevant than ever. What a joy it’s been to have this cast and crew filling our halls with raucous laughter and supremely catchy music.
If you love our Blockbuster Musicals, you’ll be excited about next season and our productions of Disney’s Frozen and Little Shop of Horrors. Tickets to both of those shows are on sale for subscribers only at the moment, and it’s easier and more cost effective than ever to become a Neptune Theatre Subscriber! Chat with our Box Office staff about our package options, and how you can see as much theatre for the best prices possible next season.
