Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations InfraMed Fund Type of institution: Global Partnership

Missions: InfraMed is an infrastructure investment fund jointly created by Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) and Cassa depositi e prestiti (Cdp). InfraMed is designed to promote, in a market environment, equity investment in urban, energy and transport infrastructure projects. It is based on a partnership with financial institutions in the southern Mediterranean. InfraMed Infrastructure' (the "Company" or the Fund), provides funding to sustainable urban, energy and transport infrastructure projects on the Southern and Eastern shores of the Mediterranean. The Fund invests primarily in greenfield projects (construction and development phase), compliant with a view to generally holding investments over a longer term than traditional private equity infrastructure funds, the Company being rooted in a philosophy of long term economic return, while strengthening sustainable growth and global economic stability. The fund also invests to a lesser extent in brownfield projects.

Mode of funding: InfraMed Infrastructure relies on a partnership with Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (Morocco) and EFG Hermes (Egypt), and with local infrastructure investment funds to be raised by these two institutions in their respective countries. Two newly created funds invest in infrastructure projects alongside InfraMed that will allocate a minimum amount of EUR 100 million or 20% of InfraMed’s total commitment to each of Egypt (“InfraEgypte”) and Morocco (“InfraMaroc”). InfraMed’s strategy is based on direct or indirect equity or quasi-equity investment in companies whose principal business consists of the development, operation, construction and/or holding of infrastructure assets – investing in the long term with a view to fostering sustainable development. The InfraMed fund seeks to provide investors with an annual return of between 12% and 16%. The life of the fund is 14 years.

Criteria to be highlighted: The Fund invests primarily in projects compliant with minimum requirements with respect to environmental protection, social impact, transparency and procurement.
