It is located in North Lebanon. The Union of Municipalities is currently implementing the following projects: - The Tripoli Environment and Development Observatory (TEDO) has been established in Al Fayhaa to know the actual state of environment and allow a quantified dialogue with National Authorities and City stakeholders and associations. It aims at improving planning and management system. - A City Development Strategy is being implemented in partnership with international organizations, in view of promoting economic growth of AL FAYHAA and encouraging investments. It will contribute to poverty alleviation and to increase employment as well as improving urban governance and management. - Al Fayhaa uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) to better analyze data in defining urban policies, for example, the city master plan. - Tripoli is currently benefitting from the World Bank–AFD co-financed Cultural Heritage and Urban Development Project which seeks to preserve the historical city while supporting productive and commercial activities related to cultural heritage - A Laboratory on Air Quality and an Air Quality unit with equipment for monitoring emissions of pollutants were created.
