It has been created in 2008 and has in charge to organize research works. Research priorities are focused on local urban policies, urban governance, sustainable urban development and urban disparities. Research works concern: - “Local urban policies and urban disparities in Beirut and Damascus” - “Urban fragmentation in Beirut” - “Local urban policies and sustainable development in Beirut” - “Sustainable urban development policies in Lebanon” These research works are partly financed by European universities. Other research is being conducted related to projects implementation financed by international organizations, concerning urban development, cultural heritage and cityscape. The CERDA also organizes workshops to report research progress on these subjects. The CERDA is a recent center and seeks to be institutionalized.
