… Thank you. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Lieutenant Governor for the 2017-18 term. Thank you for the amount of effort and tears you poured into service. Thank you for teaching me what passion and love can achieve. Thank you for allowing me to motivate you to do what you do.
During my term as Lieutenant Governor, there wasn’t a single moment in which I regretted running for this position. The relationships I formed with each and every one of you will forever be something I’m grateful for. Even if our conversations were short, they’ll remain as treasures in my heart. This journey was definitely full of ups and downs. However, our ability to unite under one umbrella of service was a constant motivating factor. 12 months have passed, and we’ve raised over $1000 for TOTFU, contributed over 1300 hours in October alone, achieved membership goals for four clubs, raised over $10,000 for local charities, held sisterdivision events, and MORE! This is all from your individual efforts and it’s heartwarming to know that people like you exist within this world. For me, Key Club was always a place of happiness and love. It’s inclusive environment allowed me to be myself, and it truly opens its doors to anyone who wishes to enter. I’ve always struggled with elections and thus, when I was elected, it felt incredibly surreal. It felt like I finally discovered who I was and where I truly belonged.
Getting installed, however, was more than just a title change. This shift in opportunity allowed me to further dive into my passion and truly inspired me to go further. It was these endless opportunities that allowed me to foster beautiful friendships with all of you. Thank you for allowing me to be inspired by my environment, and to be the light that guided you in your discovery towards service. To those of you who still have a few years to go before the end, I encourage you to cherish each second within this organization. It won’t be until the end, that you truly realize how important it is to you. Key Club not only allows you to find ways to help others, but it also allows you to discover yourself. As Lewis Carroll once said, “One of the deepest secrets in life is that all that is really worth doing, is what we do for others.” Key Club has helped me realize that in life, all you need is kindness and time to make a difference. I’ll forever be grateful for everything that this club has taught me. And so, once again, thank you for giving me the privilege to lead as your Lieutenant Governor.
