Greetings from the Lieutenant Governor

Hello Sharks, I hope you all are having a great summer so far, wherever it’s spending time with your family and friends, or just simply relaxing. A few days ago, I came back from International Convention, held in Anaheim, California. It was such an amazing experience meeting Key Clubbers around the world, who all shared the same passion for service. I am truly grateful that I was given the opportunity to attend ICON 2014. A huge thank you to my sponsoring Kiwanis Club: Gig Harbor Kiwanis, for making this possible. I hope to see some of you through out the summer, and remember keep on serving. In Love and Service,

Ayane Kawaai Division 34 Lieutenant Governor Pacific Northwest District Key Club International 253.358.0467 ltg34.ayanek@gmail.com

Tacoma Rally recap

Held on June 28th at Mt. Tahoma High School. A little over 90 Key Clubbers gathered for the 2nd Annual Tacoma Rally: Service Under the Sun. Although the weather wasn’t great, Key Clubbers still enjoyed the day full of fun and learned more about officer roles and Key Club during the workshop sessions.

“It was amazing and so exciting! Cheers to the talent show performers, you were all super duper awesome!”

“I met so many people, and learned a lot of new things that are going to help my club. My favorite part was the random times when we did the chant because everyone stopped instantly and chanted along!”

-Angela Shin, Gig Harbor

-Sierra Suafoa-McClain, Wilson

“Tacoma rally was amazing! It provided me with an amazing time and a great experience! I also got to meet new people and went to fun/exciting workshops! -Don Ta, Mt. Tahoma

We won the spirit stick !

Key Note Speaker, Jeff Leeland “I thought it was fun and a good experience for those who didn’t go to D-CON. You can easily become closer with people in the workshops plus they’re helpful, but not boring. Plus there was pizza so that made me happy.” -Miko Davis, Lincoln

“Being able to connect with so many people who are as passionate about Key Club as I am was fantastic and I can not wait to reconnect again at Seattle Rally! I left Tacoma Rally ready to make the most of my last year in Key Club.” -Ayla Ludolf, Foss

“I enjoyed the lectures in the workshops and had an awesome time watching the talent show.” -Ken Gaither, Peninsula

A message from the International Vice President

Hello Pacific Northwest District Key Clubbers! Over this past week, I along with 39 other PNW Key Clubbers and six Kiwanis chaperones had the opportunity to attend the 71st annual International Convention in the vibrant city of Anaheim, California. While there, we had the opportunity to attend educational workshops, meet Key Clubbers from across the world, and elect the 2014-2015 Key Club International Board. I am truly humbled and honored to announce that I was chosen out of a field of four other highly qualified candidates to be your next International Vice President. My biggest support throughout the entire journey, from the moment I decided to run until my name was announced on stage, was the entire Pacific Northwest District. So let me take this time to thank every single one of you- all 13,000+ members. It was your support that got me through not only ICON week but the months leading up to it. Thank you to everyone that messaged be “good luck and to all of those that congratulated me afterwards. Even though many of you did not attend ICON 2014, I still felt as if all of you were alongside me. I look forward to personally thanking many of you as I travel to some of the upcoming area rallies. To all the graduating seniors, even though I will not have the opportunity to serve you for this upcoming year, I hope that many of you will decide to join Circle K in college and eventually Kiwanis. Once again, THANK YOU to the mighty Pacific Northwest District! I look forward to yet another fantastic year of service, friendship, and growth not only for Key Club International but also for our district! In Service,

Kevin Zhang Kevin Zhang Key Club International Vice President zhangkevin2015@gmail.com 360.250.3999
