Fun for everyone Gingerbread houses and take-home photos with Santa will be featured at Family Days during Festival of Trees November 30 – December 1. The event is presented by The Lodge at Sherwood Village, Fifth Avenue Retirement Center and Sherwood Assisted Living. Youngsters will be able to have their photo taken with Santa from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. each day. They will be printed immediately so that attendees will be able to take the photos home with them. “Festival of Trees is the local kickoff of the holiday season,” said OMC Executive Director Bruce Skinner. “And the most popular feature of Festival of

and kids, Vern Burton Community Center will be the place to be,” said Fox. The Festival begins Friday morning, with the annual Teddy Bear Tea. This wildly popular event will kick off the weekend and will feature parents and children enjoying live entertainment, holiday refreshments, and visits from Santa. The Festival of Trees Gala presented by First Federal will feature the auctioning of over 50 Christmas trees, and will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday. The Senior Breakfast presented by Laurel Place and Sinclair Place will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m.

Trees during the weekend is the area youth’s first glimpse of Santa.” Many accomplished designers and businesses have stepped up to create wonderful gingerbread structures, said Festival of Trees Chair Lindsay Fox. The houses will only be on display at Family Days, which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
