Dear Traveler

It feels like only weeks ago that we were gathered together at the 2023 Travel Bazaar, and—poof!—here we are again, ready to see you all for the bigger-and-better-than-ever 2025 Travel Bazaar.

This year, we have more travel partners visiting our little city than ever before. They hail from just about everywhere: specialists from Asia, Europe, and more; luxury cruise lines; quaint country hotels; boutique city center oases; luxury train specialists—just to name a few. They are as varied as can be, but one thing unites them: they love nothing more than creating one-of-a-kind, bespoke travel experiences for our beloved clients.

In all, 43 travel partners are preparing to take flight from their corner of the world to ours, flocking together with all of us on Valentine’s Day weekend at the Clinton Center. The Bazaar is always a fun time for us because we get to see our far-flung friends, people with whom we have nurtured relationships over the decades. These bonds allow us to bring you the best of the best in luxury travel. As you know, Poe Travel clients are always VIPs.

Most of all, though, it’s incredible to see YOUR faces again. The Travel Bazaar gives us all the opportunity to meet face-to-face, a rarity in a life increasingly lived behind screens. What’s more fun than seeing the light of inspiration brighten your eyes as you meet one of our trusted pals from around the world, knowing what fun you have in store when you eventually visit them?

Perhaps you’ll know who you will want to speak to when you arrive in that great, glass-walled room on February 15th. Perhaps some of them will surprise you on the day. Either way, we just know you’re going to be dazzled by this eclectic list.

As always, we implore you to

What’s New in the Nordics?

No one knows the Nordics like our pals at The Luxury Travel Designer, our go-to for all customized itineraries in this magical part of the world. They’ll take you outside of the run-of-the-mill tourist market and provide exceptional bespoke adventures, with over 15 years’ experience doing just that.

In very exciting news, they have several new ventures—sister ventures, if you will—within the last couple of years that will have you ready to pack your bags and visit the Nordics, even if you’ve been before.

DUE NORTH TRAVEL & DUE NORTH AIR

In 2022, DUE NORTH Travel and DUE NORTH Air were launched, expanding the scope of experiences available to discerning travelers with no budget limits. With a focus on personalized service and use of their private twin-engine helicopter to explore the stunning landscapes of Norway, each DUE NORTH journey comes complete with an entourage of private chefs, photographers, adventure guides, and hosts, ensuring that even the finest of details is taken care of with ease.

ISBREEN THE GLACIER

The Luxury Travel Designer has also taken on exclusive ownership of Isbreen The Glacier, a unique year-round destination in Arctic Norway. Amongst the many highlights of this exclusive igloo property is the double-domed, triple-heated suite, offering 1,500 square feet of luxurious space. Nestled on the shores of the Jøkelfjord, this is an incredible place from which to spot the mesmerizing Northern Lights for an average of 200 nights per year and midnight sun in the summer months. This is a truly immersive way to encounter the polar north.

OUR HIDEAWAY

And in news that is hottest off the press, The Luxury Travel Designer have recently unveiled Our Hideaway, an exclusive, allnew Norwegian fjord retreat for travelers looking to reconnect with nature and themselves. Built from natural, sustainable materials and designed to blend seamlessly with its striking surroundings, Our Hideaway features two luxurious suites with en-suite bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and a spacious fireside lounge with views far across the water. The loft provides extra sleeping space if needed or provides a fun room for games, skylight stargazing, reading, and relaxation. Large windows and foldaway doors throughout the property bring the light and scents of nature right into the heart of the home. This unforgettable place offers an abundance of privacy and a completely immersive, tranquil experience.

Each of these new ventures reflects the ambition of the team at The Luxury Travel Designer and DUE NORTH. They are striving to create the future of Nordic luxury travel, presenting you with unbelievable moments of peace and calm as you connect with nature in this otherworldly region.

Rebecca Recommends: Red Carnation

The team from Rebecca Recommends will be at the Travel Bazaar. One of Rebecca’s trusted recommendations is the Red Carnation Hotels collection. Let us introduce you to them both. . .

MEET

CONTACT your Poe Travel advisor today for more information, or speak to Rebecca and the team at the Travel Bazaar.

Rebecca will also be giving a lunchtime presentation, so be sure to RSVP for the lunch session if you haven’t already!

REBECCA | Rebecca Recommends represents a selection of hotels and travel services handpicked for the discerning traveler who values authentic experiences. Rebecca’s own love affair with travel started when she was very young and is due in large part to her father, who was a passionate hotelier. Rebecca was familiar with all the nooks and crannies of hotels from a young age. Her teenage years were spent learning every facet of running a luxury hotel and traveling to remarkable destinations to learn their cultures. Her portfolio showcases some of the very best independently owned luxury hotels, residences, and services within the United Kingdom (Rebecca’s homeland!) and other destinations worldwide. She works with partners who, like her, believe that service is at the heart of travel.

Rebecca Recommends is a staunch supporter of ethical travel. This means, firstly, that travelers have the enormous power to benefit the local communities to which we venture, especially in developing countries. It also means that we, as cultured citizens of the world, can choose ethical destinations based on values with which we identify: human rights, environmental protection, social welfare, and animal rights.

“Smaller is beautiful,” says Rebecca. Owners who are personally invested in their businesses dot her client list, helping to instill enthusiasm about new or unknown destinations. Rebecca gets a real thrill out of sharing local treasures: a little-known pub, a quirky gallery, an adventurous outdoor activity, or a spontaneous visit to a private home.

Introducing: Red Carnation Hotels

Poe Travel has been a big fan of Red Carnation Hotels for many years, so we are over-the-moon that Rebecca will be at the Bazaar to spread the good word about this family-owned and run collection!

Each of their properties, from Botswana’s Xigera Safari Lodge to Ireland’s Ashford Castle, connects you deeply to its locale with distinguishing designs and elevated service.

The Red Carnation Hotel collection includes six London properties (we especially love the luxe Milestone Hotel & Residences and the quaint, London house feel of The Egerton House); the Summer Lodge Country House in Dorset; both Ashford Castle and The Lodge at Ashford Castle in Ireland; two hotels on the British Isle of Guernsey; 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh; three properties in South Africa (from where the owners hail); the Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana; and the Hotel d’Angleterre in Geneva. Their list of hotels is varied, both in the types of property and their respective locales. There are certain features, however, that join them all together, such as Red Carnation’s signature service, sense of place, and generous hospitality.

How Do We Love AmaWaterways? Let Us Count the Ways. . .

We have always found the prospect of an AmaWaterways river cruise simply delightful. With cruises in Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, Egypt, and—starting in 2025 —South America, AmaWaterways takes to the rivers to explore some of the world’s best destinations.

With a long list of inclusions—everything from your stateroom or suite to your onboard meals and drinks to immersive special interest excursions and more— AmaWaterways never fails to make Poe Tavel clients feel special.

We’ve been recommending them for years, and we put together a handy little list so you know exactly why we love them so much.

1

Fewer Guests Onboard

Ama’s award-winning ships take an average of only 156 passengers onboard, offering larger staterooms and suites (up to 710 square feet on AmaMagna!) and spacious common areas and libraries. They could even comfortably fit every single guest in the Main Lounge at once!

2

Fresh & Always Included Food

With AmaWaterways, the fish is always freshly caught, the bread and pastries are baked fresh each day onboard, and the produce is locally sourced. All meals are included onboard, even the Chef’s Table specialty restaurant. The ingredients come from the regions you’ll be exploring, giving you the chance to taste mouthwatering authentic local dishes while onboard.

3

Complimentary Sip & Savor

Unlimited regional wines are thoughtfully selected to enhance meals, with sparkling wine available at breakfast, a different red and white poured each day, premium beer options, and a Sip & Sail cocktail hour before dinner, all included in your cruise fare.

CONTACT YOUR POE TRAVEL ADVISOR today to explore one of the world’s great rivers with AmaWaterways.

4

Generous Onboard Amenities

Be pampered with everything you need and more: sundeck pools or whirlpools, host-led wellness activities, fitness room, spa facilities, 24-hour coffee and tea, and innovations such as AmaMagna’s pickleball court.

5

High-Quality Included Excursions

On shore, take exhilarating guided hikes or cycling tours, enriching city tours, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings, or even excursions for late risers, all operated in small groups. Many excursions are offered at differing lengths and to suit varied activity levels.

6

Thoughtful Cruise Managers

The Cruise Managers here go above and beyond to ensure memorable experiences, traveling with you throughout your river cruise and during any pre- and post-cruise land packages. Many of the Cruise Managers even hail from the regions you’ll be visiting.

7

Innovation & Sustainability

Ama was the first river cruise line to offer a fleet of bicycles, and they’re still at the pulse of travel trends. In 2025, they’ll make history with the industry’s first cruises along Colombia’s Magdalena River. They respect the natural ecosystems through which they cruise, have significantly reduced single-use plastics onboard, use LED lighting across the fleet, and use energy-efficient engines and solar panels on AmaMagna. 20 of their ships have earned the prestigious Green Award for industry-leading safety, quality, and environmental performance.

8

Inclusivity & Diversity

AmaWaterways has received positive feedback on their Latin Touch cruises, designed for Spanish speakers, as well as their Soulful Experiences celebrating Black heritage and culture. They welcome guests of all ages onboard.

9

Favorable Payment Policies

Full payment is not due until 90 days before sailing, giving you the maximum time and flexibility to save for your great adventure.

BIG Belmond News: The Britannic Explorer

HOT-OFF-THE-PRESS

Belmond is launching a brand-new luxury sleeper train, the first of its kind in England and Wales.

District, and Wales, this is just the ticket for exploring some of those farther-flung, harderto-reach areas in the UK. This exciting new train will take to the rails in July 2025.

Fans of slow travel no doubt already know all about Belmond’s portfolio of incredible trains and cruises. From the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express to the Peruvian Andean Explorer to the Royal Scotsman (and more!), Belmond’s trains are nothing short of iconic.

This is why we are THRILLED to bring you news of a brandnew offering: The Britannic Explorer, a Belmond Train in England and Wales. This is the region’s first ever luxury sleeper train, and with itineraries exploring Cornwall, the Lake

The Experience: Onboard & Off

The Britannic Explorer will depart from London on threenight itineraries. Trips to the Lake District and Cornwall will run from Friday to Monday, with trips to Wales running from Monday to Thursday, allowing for the easy combination of two regions.

Each of the three evocative routes will take you through spectacular natural landscapes. By day, off-train guided excursions showcase the rich cultural tapestry, beauty, and history of each destination.

Discover the essence of Britain, gaining unparalleled perspective and exclusive access to some of the nation’s hidden gems. By night, unwind and mingle in the train’s botanically inspired Bar, the social heart of this convivial train.

As you’d expect from Belmond, fine dining experiences will abound onboard the Britannic Explorer. At the helm is renowned chef Simon Rogan, celebrated for his innovative approach at his restaurants, which collectively hold eight Michelin stars and two Michelin Green stars worldwide. Rogan is a visionary leader in the farm-to-fork

movement, so his menus celebrate seasonal, sustainable ingredients sourced locally to showcase the richness of Britain’s diverse regions. The Bar, meanwhile, is inspired by Victorian apothecaries!

An onboard wellness suite provides therapies designed to relax and revive while the world goes by.

Charming By Design

London-based studio, Albion Nord, has created serenely elegant interiors with an unmistakable British charm, distinct to the train. Each of

the Britannic Explorer’s 18 cabins couple sophistication with comfort. The three Grand Suites and 15 Suites have been carefully crafted in Britain, designed to make the experience of the journey as extraordinary as the destination. Inspired by sweeping views of Britain’s rugged coastlines and rolling hills, each moment is transformed into a visual feast.

A Long List of Gems

The Britannic Explorer is just the latest in Belmond’s stunning list of UK experiences. The British Pullman, a Belmond Train, offers incredible day trips to various destinations around

the UK. The Royal Scotsman is the nation’s only luxury touring sleeper train through the Highlands.

The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, is a short 20-minute transfer from London Victoria Station, offering a seamless pre- or post-rail stay. For those traveling through the Cotswolds on the Lake District route, the Britannic Explorer offers an exclusive stop at the Michelin two-star manor house hotel and restaurant, Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.

After the parade, head to the nearby barracks for a delectable private lunch with wine pairings, possibly even spotting soldiers who participated in the day’s events. This gives you unprecedented access to the soldiers marching back to the barracks and a fabulous view of the fly-past during a champagne reception.

The Rockies & Beyond by Rail

For over 30 years, Rocky Mountaineer has welcomed keen travelers from around the world, inviting them on a luxury rail journey through the Canadian Rockies and, more recently, in the stunning American Southwest.

North America is full of spectacular natural wonders, from breathtaking vistas of sky-high mountains and sparkling lakes to rugged canyons sprawling as far as the eye can see to its abundant wildlife. Experience the magic of famous national parks flanked by towering mountains and picturesque valleys.

There’s so much to explore, and hopping onboard the glassdomed Rocky Mountaineer is a way to see it all as you go, never missing a second and enjoying world-class service and comfortable hotel accommodations along the way.

ACTIVITIES ALONG THE WAY

Whale watching off the British Columbia coast

Exploring Colombia Icefields and Athabasca glacier in Jasper National Park

Ride the Banff Gondola up Sulphur Mountain

Traverse ancient sand dunes in Arches National Park at sunset in a Hummer Safari

Short walks and backcountry excursions for every skill level

The Onboard Experience

Along with views of unforgettable landscapes, you’re in for regionally inspired culinary delights as well. Before each season, Rocky Mountaineer’s Executive Chef creates a menu inspired by the bounty of the passing regions, highlighting local ingredients such as crispy Lois Lake steelhead trout, prime Alberta striploin steak, and fresh Palisade peaches. Savor it all while the onboard team tops up your glass of wine, mixes up a handcrafted cocktail, or regales you with stories about the passing landscapes.

Which Route First?

With four unique rail routes to choose from, the hardest part is deciding where to go first. Retrace Canadian rail history on the most popular route, First Passage to the West, connecting the coastal city of Vancouver to the famous Rocky Mountain towns of Banff and Lake Louise. This two-day journey winds across British Columbia and Alberta, where icy glaciers and cascading waterfalls spill over ancient mountain peaks.

Perhaps you’d rather travel between Vancouver and Jasper on the Journey through the Clouds route. This aweinspiring itinerary takes you through some of the planet’s most breathtaking and pristine natural beauty, winding through British Columbia and Jasper National Park.

Or, opt for the three-day Rainforest to Gold Rush route and journey from the world’s largest temperate rainforest, through arid desert and tranquil ranchland, and into the untamed wilderness of the Rocky Mountains.

Rocky Mountaineer’s only US route, Rockies to the Red Rocks, winds between Denver and the red sandstone wonders of Utah’s Moab. This two-day journey boasts some of the best highlights in the Southwest, from vast canyons and inspiring deserts to enchanting farmland studded with rolling peaks and valleys.

Effortlessly combining a sense of luxury with the spirit of the great outdoors, Rocky Mountaineer offers an unparalleled journey through some of the most sought-after and naturally beautiful regions of North America.

PARADISE AWAITS

SUPREME LUXURY, SUBLIME PRIVACY

CONTACT YOUR POE TRAVEL ADVISOR TO BOOK

Go Bahamian & Boutique with The Ocean Club

There are boutique hotels, and there are grand resorts—and The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort in the Bahamas is a rare combination of both. The Ocean Club, with its seemingly countless amenities and intimate setting, boasts a history of more than 60 years of storied glamor.

Located on the famed Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, The Ocean Club is situated on a pristine stretch of white-sand, turquoise water beach. With only 107 rooms on 35 acres, the resort’s exclusivity and privacy is a true hallmark. Over the years, it has played host to many dazzling celebrities and under-the-radar elites and was even a featured filming location in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale

A Garden of Art

Something that makes The Ocean Club truly one-of-a-kind is its stunning, Versailles-inspired gardens and cloisters, a beautifully landscaped sanctuary with stone, bronze, and marble works of art, including a particularly renowned piece, The Reclining Venus. She lays peacefully sheltered from the elements and enjoys an appropriately peaceful visage at the entry to The Spa. Sculpted in 1829 by one of the 18th century’s most lauded Florentine artists, Lorenzo Bartollini, Venus is impeccably etched out of Italian marble. A walk through the cloisters is like a walk back through time and creates the illusion of wandering the impeccable grounds of an ancient European estate.

Home Away from Home

The Ocean Club features 90 guestrooms, 12 suites, three beachfront villas, and two bungalows with private plunge pools. With direct views of the Atlantic Ocean from private terraces or balconies, the spacious guest rooms and suites in the Crescent Wing capture the traditional island spirit, recently refreshed in 2023 in shades reflecting the beachfront location—sand, aqua, and soft coral hues. These luxury ocean view rooms also overlook a verdant lawn, dotted with white Adirondack-style chairs and hammocks—the perfect spot to enjoy the soft breeze and simply exhale.

The Hartford Wing offers guestrooms with views of either the ocean or landscaped tropical gardens, and these beautiful rooms are accessible through a charming courtyard. Surrounded by palm trees and tropical foliage, a fountain is the centerpiece of the courtyard, where you’ll find many a cozy nook in which to relax.

The list of reasons to visit The Ocean Club is a long one, even if you’ve been in years past: its exclusive oceanfront setting and legendary history; its new guestroom and suite offerings since the Crescent Wing has been renovated; and its amazing signature restaurant DUNE by Jean-Georges, just to name a few. One thing is for sure: The Ocean Club has always been and continues to be a cherished Caribbean destination in and of itself.

It’s very rare for a resort to have 107 keys for a 35-acre property,” says John Conway, General Manager. “We have something truly special here; we’ve been home to generations of family members who come to visit, time and time again.
