The way our BLACK TEAM works as a whole determines it’s success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual talents in the world, but if they don’t bring the right spirit to the team, their effort won’t be worth what we are looking for. To win the game, you don’t have to be the most athletic or talented. To win, you must have passion for the sport, determination and 12
the spirit.
complete faith in yourself and your team. The mission at Point-7 has always been to work with key windsurfing athletes from around the globe who share our passion, develop talent at the youth level and design the best equipment to give our team riders the best tools available to ply their skills on the Pro Tour. 13

Our riders work as a team, train as a team and enjoy success as a team. Our unique approach to training and preparation gives our riders the best possible chance out on the water when they compete. To manage individual athletes to work together, and see them happy when one of their team mates is winning, it’s a great life example for our followers 19

the sport of windsurfing.
22
The sport is seen to be: exciting, youthful, close to nature, extreme. Windsurfing is not only a sport but a lifestyle.
23
24
audience target.
The main target audience of windsurfing is between 25-45, which is an age bracket where people are enjoying life and have more disposable income to spend on luxury items. This age bracket includes a lot of SINK’S (single income no kids) and DINK’S (double income no kids) who are spending a lot of money on luxury items and windsurfing products.
25
windsurfing marketing.
The windsurfing market is very ‘rider image’ orientated, and about how the windsurfers portray themselves. The average windsurfer strives to become the top rider at his spot and is very careful about the products they use and the look they portray.

The average yearly spend on windsurfing equipment is estimated to be €3,000- 6,000. All travel for windsurfers is purely windsurfing trips, either each weekend or dedicated summer holidays of longer periods. Holiday spending can be up to €5,000-15,000 annually. The clothing and fashion for this type of lifestyle can attract up to €3,000 of spending annually for each individual windsurfer. Windsurfers mainly travel in luxury vans, station wagons or the latest cars.

the beginning. the first team
the history. Point-7 in 2013 initiated a new initiative to introduce a strong team in an individual sport. The initiative was founded to revolutionize the sport and to grow a strong marketing tool for the POINT-7 products, as the main sponsor of the team and its co-sponsors. The Black Team is built up around a group of key windsurf athletes from around the globe who each individually have been chosen based on their commitment, their potential and for their personal goals.

Furthermore, the Black Team focus on developing new talent from a youth level upwards, to assist the riders in plying their skills and bring them onto the Pro World Tour with all possible shortcuts. The young riders are selected from the main 40 countries where Point-7 is distributed.

The concept is to create TEAM SPIRIT in an individual athlete sport, building a stronger team image via competition generated results and media coverage. The Black Team proved during 2013 that the concept can pave the road towards World Championships, with an amazing event win and great team results already gained during the first event on the PWA* World Tour. *Professional Windsurfing Association
