EMS) EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) Firefighter I & II First Aid/CPR National Incident Management

Systems 100c & 700b OSHA 10-Hour Stop The Bleed The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program is designed to provide you with the Department of Transportation Emergency Medical Technician curriculum which is a combination of lecture and practical skills. You will participate in shadowing experiences with local emergency rooms and local fire department rescue squads. The curriculum includes basic anatomy, foundations of fire and EMS, medical terminology, vital signs, patient assessment and medical report writing. Upon completion, you will (provided you meet all requirements of the program) take the National Registry EMT Exam which is the certifying exam for the state of Ohio. The 260-hour Firefighting course provides the highest level of fire training that is required in the state of Ohio. You will learn all aspects of firefighting. Upon completion, you will (provided you meet all requirements of the program) take the state certifying exam. Successful completion of this program may also lead to certification as a 911 Entry Level Dispatcher.

This program is offered in partnership with Cuyahoga Community College. During the second year of this course, students must provide their own transportation to the Tri–C Public Safety Training Academy.
