your polka donation will be matched

World-class theatre for children aged 0 -13

Help us unlock the imagination and potential in children through the power of performance. Donate to Polka today and your donation will be doubled thanks to our special Catalyst Arts award from Arts Council England. From now until June 2014, every donation we receive will be matched £1 for £1. For example, your £10 will be worth £20 to Polka children and with Gift Aid potentially as much as £25. As a registered charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters to ensure we can continue to reach over 100,000 children each year through theatre, creative learning and community engagement projects. Help us give children their very first experience of the magic of theatre. £20 = theatre tickets for two children who couldn’t otherwise experience live theatre. £100 = a BSL interpreter for our integrated sign language shows. £1,000 = 15 children at risk of social exclusion will have the opportunity to devise and stage their own production, while learning valuable life skills.

Polka Theatre and Norwich Puppet Theatre present

Bask in a world of colour in this interactive performance using projection, light, puppets, music and dance. Three Colours places you and your children at the very centre of the experience, gently drawing you into wonderful imaginary landscapes where you can swim with fish, feel frogs nibble your toes, catch grasshoppers and listen to a gentle heartbeat.

You’ll be amazed at how much we pack onto the stage in The Planet and Stuff, an interactive new show exploring climate change for ages 9 - 13. This winter, look forward to plenty of Polka magic with two children’s classics. Lewis Carroll’s enchanting characters spring to life in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland for ages 6 -11, whilst ages 1 - 5 can meet the world’s friendliest Gorilla, as we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Anthony Browne’s award-winning picture book. And don’t forget our great variety of holiday workshops, after-school courses and a hand-picked selection of shows in the Adventure Theatre. See you at Polka soon!

The Planet and Stuff By Simon Daw, Joel Horwood and Lucy Kerbel One simple question: ‘How can we solve climate change?’ The children at Polka want a straight answer, but so far no one has been able to help. Today all of that is going to change. Or else! From global inequality to your own recycling. From what’s going on up in the atmosphere to where that sweet wrapper in your pocket came from and where it might end up, climate change takes centre stage. Part live science demo, part hyperactive game show, The Planet and Stuff is the fact-packed, straight-talking climate change event with all the answers. What could possibly go wrong?
