“It’s an honor to be selected as Global Brand Ambassador for U.S. Polo Assn., a brand that is so popular and respected in my home country of India and so authentic to the sport of polo,” said His Highness, Padmanabh Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur. “I look forward to representing the brand with great enthusiasm at sporting and fashion events and on social media for fans and consumers around the world!”

U.S. Polo Assn.

Announces His Highness

Maharaja Sawai

Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, India as New Global Brand Ambassador

We spoke to His Highness

Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, about his new role as the Global Brand Ambassador, Polo and motto in life

You are the new global brand ambassador for the global, sport brand U.S. Polo Assn. What does this role mean to you?

Polo has always been more than a mere sport for me. It is my passion. To be the global ambassador of a prestigious brand that supports and promotes polo worldwide like U.S. Polo Assn. is an honour and a privilege. It has been tremendously motivating to work with Mr. J. Michael Prince, the CEO of USPA Global, the company that manages and oversees the global U.S. Polo Assn. brand. Through all my interactions with him, I have keenly felt his passion for polo and our conversations have been an ongoing discussion on how we can work together to take the game to another level under the aegis of this beautiful brand.

U.S. Polo Assn.’s efforts {in partnership with the USPA} have already raised the bar {for the sport} significantly in the United States and it is my hope that in my new role as the Global Ambassador of the brand, I can work with Michael to effectively use that as an example to impact polo positively across the world.

Over the last few years, I have been working towards popularising polo in India through the Rajasthan Polo Club and the Jaipur Polo Seasons and am confident that this collaboration with U.S. Polo Assn. will help create greater awareness about the sport as well as make it more inclusive and accessible.

What is the most important thing the game of polo has taught you?

Polo has taught me many things. Patience, dedication, precision, teamwork, leadership, persistence, commitment, and most importantly, the confidence to follow my passion with my heart and soul.

What is your personal insider's tip for striking the perfect hit?

My tip for striking the perfect hit is the same as one for achieving any goal in life - 'Keep your eye on the ball'.

What is one motto you live by?

The motto of my family. 'Yato Dharmastato Jaya' - 'Where there is Righteousness, there is Victory'.

I believe that each one of us is born with the ability to judge right and wrong. As long as you allow your conscience to guide your actions, you will always emerge victorious in all your endeavours.

Decisive action backed by conscientious thought - that is my 'dharm' and I endeavour to live by it every day.

U.S. Polo Assn. Presents the Historic 2024 Paris Games Polo Challenge USA vs. France

U.S. Polo Assn., the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA) and the Polo Club du Domaine Chantilly are proud to present the Paris Games Polo Challenge 2024, a tribute match between USA and France taking place on August 7. The Paris Games Polo Challenge will be open to the public and will air on ESPN2 to a global audience!

With the 2024 Summer Olympics taking place in Paris from July through August and equestrian events concluding on August 6 at Versailles, U.S. Polo Assn. invites sports fans to continue the equestrian celebration with polo, just 40 minutes outside Paris city center at the Polo Club du Domaine Chantilly. Chantilly is the home of the Great Stables of Prince de Conde and Chateau de Chantilly, and is, of course, the namesake of Chantilly lace, the famous silk laces that date back to 17th century France.

In partnership with the Federation of International Polo (FIP) the Federation Française de Polo (FFP) and the USPA, this historic match is the centennial celebration and tribute to the last time France hosted the Olympics, exactly 100 years ago. France will be seeking redemption at the Paris Games Polo Challenge 2024 for the VIII Olympiad which were held in Paris for the second time in the modern era. On June 28, 1924, in St. Cloud, France, the score was 15-1 USA, in an upset to the host country of France. USA concluded the overall tournament with the silver medal, losing to Argentina, who took home Olympic gold. The last Olympics to include polo was held in 1936 in Berlin, Germany.

“The USPA is proud to sponsor the Paris Games Polo Challenge 2024, a history-making event that is a tribute to 100 years of sport between France and USA Teams,” explains Stewart Armstrong, Chairman of the USPA. “An international event such as the Paris Polo Challenge played just following the Olympic equestrian games in Paris, is a landmark for polo and provides further global visibility to the sport.”

As the Title and Apparel Sponsor, U.S. Polo Assn. will be providing apparel for USA and France Teams with performance jerseys, practice jerseys, and an assortment of U.S. Polo Assn. custom designed country apparel to wear off the field, featuring the global sports brand’s iconic double horsemen logo. The USA Team will be wearing custom USPA Pro whites. U.S. Polo Assn. is also providing saddle pads, as well as groom and staff outfitting. VIP gifts for the event will include event limited edition Paris Games Polo Challenge 2024 caps, t- shirts, scarves and pocket squares, as well as branded duffle bags.

“U.S. Polo Assn. is honored to be part of such an historic and celebratory polo event at the beautiful Polo Club du Domaine Chantilly, alongside the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics,” said J. Michael Prince, President & CEO of USPA Global, the company that manages and markets the multi-billion-dollar U.S. Polo Assn. brand. “This event brings FIP, FFP and the USPA together for only the second time in 100 years of history, making this tribute game a once in a lifetime opportunity for everyone that attends.”

Polo Club du Domaine Chantilly will also be hosting two other high goal polo tournaments this summer, the Polo Nations Cup from June 13 - 23, and the French Open for men and women from September 4-22. These events are open to the public as well.

“The French Polo Federation is extremely honored to welcome the Paris Games Polo Challenge to our country during the summer of the Paris Olympic Games 2024, with the support of FIP, the USPA and U.S. Polo Assn,” said Jean-Edouard Mazery, President of the French Polo Federation. “This a tremendous opportunity to develop a program for our French national team and promote our sport.”

U.S. Polo Assn. is the official brand of the United States Polo Association (USPA), the governing body for the sport of polo in the United States and one of the country’s oldest sports governing bodies, founded in 1890. With a multi-billion-dollar global footprint and worldwide distribution through more than 1,100 U.S. Polo Assn. retail stores as well as thousands of additional points of distribution, U.S. Polo Assn. offers apparel, accessories, and footwear for men, women, and children in more than 190 countries worldwide. A recent, multi-year deal with ESPN to broadcast several of the premier polo championships in the world, sponsored by U.S. Polo Assn., has made the thrilling sport accessible to millions of sports fans globally for the very first time.

ZIMMERMANN

Celebrates St Barth Store

Opening

The luxury womenswear brand is bringing its signature styles to St Barth in a new boutique that is as beautifully designed as its pieces.

The now ever popular, ultra chic brand began when Nicky and Simone Zimmermann founded the Australian label in 1991. Over the years the brand's pieces evolved to incorporate swimwear and resort wear among its classic sophisticated feminine silhouettes, making it an elegant staple for those of us looking for chic clothing in warmer climates. It's clear that Zimmermann, and its clientele, fit right in St Barth. The brand is celebrating a long awaited storefront opening on the Caribbean island, offering beautiful new styles in an idyllic tropical destination.

The space itself is an extension of the beauty of Zimmermann and St Barth. Located in the heart of the island in an original two story timber and stone building, the boutique captures the effortless essence of the island that’s so synonymous with the Zimmerman lifestyle. Having been specially designed with details of the island’s unique history in mind, a blend of French and Swedish influences can be seen all over. Touches like a rare 1940’s French abstract painting, and a Swedish Kurbit folk art inspired curtain bring the surrounding history into the store. Bespoke furniture, and a blend of vintage and modern pieces accent the stunning new interior. With a warm color palette of olive greens and rich oak woods this space is inviting and casual to suit the spirit of the island and the Zimmermann brand. And, as a nod to its roots, paintings by Australian painters Emily Ferretti, Stephen Bird, and Natalie Bloom adorn the walls.

The Men’s wardrobe

The men’s collection creative director Filippo Grazioli designed synced up with his quieter rendition of Missoni’s ‘he comes in color’ personality.

Grazioli’s chromatic direction veered towards a cool, toned down palette of white, gray, sand and khaki—a counterintuitive choice for the almost virtuoso quality of traditional Missoni color combinations. The designer’s penchant for sleek minimalism was also reflected in a restrained approach to neat silhouettes and controlled volumes.

Conceived as a wardrobe of sensible, comfortable pieces, the collection offered trench coats, dusters, and daywear pieces inflected with a versatile attitude and some soft formality. Textures kept a certain impact, while plays of patterns allowed for creative layering.

The Moguls were then responsible for taking the game from Persia tot he East, where it became known as “the sport of kings“.

Polo is taken from the word ’pholo’ meaning ’ball’ or ’ballgame’ in the Balti language of Tibet.

By the 16th century polo was well established in India in Mainpur, the English Army Officers discovered the game. They went on to found the world’s first polo club.

Today, more than 77 countries across the world play polo. It was an Olympic sport from 1900-1939.

Polo continues to represent the pinnacle of sport. This is a feeling epitomised by the famous verse inscribed on a stone tablet next to a polo ground in Gilgit, Pakistan:

Lilypad is a unique product that confirms the brand’s intuition, who included it in the catalogue The New Modernism. In fact, it perfectly corresponds to the brand’s mood with its geometric contrasts and the great enhancement of glass in all its nuances. With The New Modernism and Lilypad, Tonelli Design interprets in a personal manner the modern living, creating pieces of great expressive force, that compose a complete universe of design. Contemporaneity above any trend, real and timeless, an international style, free and personal, that easily adapts to the houses all around the world. “Glass is the element we love – confirm Michele Bacchiocchi and Michele Gasperini, owners of Tonelli Design, - and if with other collections we focused on multi-materiality, with Lilypad we give up to the transcendent force of glass in different versions. Our glass is that of the classic etheric and bright transparencies, the warm and charming one of the coloured glass, the fused three-dimensional one, modern and decorative with its different textures. An unexpected glass that declares, with its natural imperfections, its artisan soul, alive and vibrant, that contributes to give life to a new exclusive experience.”

Explore The Magic of a Swiss Summer in Zermatt Switzerland

Chalet Zermatt Peak: Providing Hollywood Stars A Summer Vacation Like No Other

Zermatt is known for its snowy white peaks and cosy Swiss chalets nestled within the mountains, but it is so much more than that. Many visitors see Zermatt as the perfect winter vacation, which no one can fault them for, but what most don’t know is that Zermatt is also the ultimate summer escape. During the summer months, travellers can expect to enjoy hiking in the breathtaking Swiss countryside, taking a cable car up to the glaciers, and gourmet dining at an array of five-star restaurants hidden in the mountains. One chalet, Chalet Zermatt Peak (CZP), understands the magic of summer in Switzerland and offers guests a bespoke service fit for the A-list.

Chalet Zermatt Peak, ‘The World’s Best Ski Chalet’, was recently featured in this year’s ‘Everyone Wins’ Oscar Nominee gift bag, which was hand-delivered to stars like Ryan Gosling, Martin Scorsese, Emily Blunt, and Cillian Murphy. When guests stay at the chalet, it is like having a boutique hotel all to yourself. This year’s Oscar nominees can expect to be welcomed by a full team of staff including their very own personal concierge, private gourmet chef, and spa therapists, to expansive unspoiled views of the awe-inspiring landscapes. During the warmer months, the wellness centre opens up, meaning guests can enjoy a massage on the balcony, or relax in the indoor/outdoor jacuzzi, which overlooks the famous village and Matterhorn.

Matthew Klaiber, the Global Business Development Manager, states “Guests who return for a summer visit are pleasantly surprised at both the beauty and experience of the Chalet in Summer. In winter you are restricted where you can go, however, once the snow melts, the areas our guests can explore increase dramatically. It definitely puts a different vibe to the evenings back at the chalet during dinner and wellness time. Enjoying dinner whilst watching the sunset behind the Matterhorn is a highlight. In summer we offer a luxury short stays, from 3 nights, which is very popular for guests who incorporate a visit to Zermatt as part of a wider European vacation.”

The changing of the seasons doesn’t change the level of service at CZP, the service is simply tailored around it. Whether an Oscar winner or not, every guest is treated like a Hollywood star.

Lunch With a Prince – A Unique Insight into the World of Château La Mission

Haut-Brion

Luxury wine brand Château La Mission Haut-Brion has a rich history. Celebrating its 40th vintage this year, its owners Domaine Clarence Dillon and the Dillon family are sitting on a treasure trove of not just beautiful wines, but an estate full of rich, sacred history and an impressive collection of art.

When I was invited for lunch in Bordeaux with owner (and 4 th generation of the Dillon family) H.R.H Prince Robert de Luxembourg, at the private family residence opposite Château La Mission Haut-Brion’s vineyards and visitor centre in Bordeaux, how could I resist a look inside this family, brandand property?

The brand is one of the Grand Crus Classé de Graves union of wine estates - fourteen prestigious estates that were classified as great growths in 1953 (and then in 1959) and have the unusual distinction of producing both red and white wines. All are family-owned and take a sustainable approach to farmingand production. The Graves region takes its name from its stony terrain. The wines produced are of superior quality and the estates all have rich histories. Château La Mission HautBrion is adored the world over and were even the only red and white wines exclusively served at the 96th Academy Awards® this year.

Exploring the château alongside Prince Robert gave me an interesting insight into the brand and the family who run it. Along with an appreciative understanding of how the estate was formed, as far back as 1540.

In 1540, Arnaud de Lestonnac acquired an area of land named ‘Arregedhuys’, which would be the starting point for Château La Mission Haut-Brion. The unique gravel soil, rested on a unique subsoil of clay, sand limestone and falun. The estate’ssacred and spiritual history comes from his daughter Olive de Lestonnac. Olive was a 17th century philanthropist, who was the leading founder and guardian of the covenants in Bordeaux. It was she who made Château La Mission Haut-Brion a brand. She was an astute businesswoman who had a major hand in all aspects of the estate’s wine growing, production and economics. She was ahead of her time and a strong, but pious, female figure.

A further sacred element to the estate was added in 1698 by the then owners, the Lazzarist fathers. These priests built the stone chapel which resides in the grounds of the château. The estate was then grown and developed through several owners, until the Dillon family acquired it in 1919. When you walk through the grounds and into the tiny historic chapel, you feel like you are walking on hallowed earth. There’s such a peaceful, special spiritual vibe to the place, and the cathedral-like cellar oozes centuries of superb wine-making craftsmanship.

Prince Robert truly appreciates the history of the estate and the brand. From the very first moment of meeting him, you could see his passion for maintaining that legacy and celebrating the history, both in terms of its wine production and its sacred past. His art collection honours the history of his family and the estate, and is a way of keeping it alive. One of the major collections is etchings – a collection started by Clarence Dillon and continued by his great-grandson Prince Robert de Luxembourg. These 71 etchings by Rembrandt and Dürer have biblical themes and are fascinatingly intricate.

Prince Robert was involved in the business from the age of 15and he is dedicated to keeping it as a family business and passing on the leadership crown one day. They continue to produce world-class wines year after year. On the schedule that day was an intimate lunch, drinking past Château La Mission Haut-Brion vintages; including the incredible experience of consuming their 40-year old vintage Château La Mission Haut-Brion 1983 En Magnum. This diluted blood red-coloured wine smelt like stepping back in time, of agedwood, rich fig, leather and tobacco. It was earthy and peaty and quite exceptional.

The Dillon family have renovated the château and added stateof-the-art winemaking facilities. They are driving forward the future of the business and expanding into new areas to ensure that Château La Mission Haut-Brion continues to thrive as its ancestors intended, but also meet the needs of the 21st century consumer. There’s a prestige new visitor centre across the road from the château, that was added in 2021. The Pavilion Catelan (in a renovated 19th century building) has sleek tasting rooms, an extensive cellar, spaces for private functions to be held, and a ground floor retail space. They have also opened a new shop in Bordeaux city centre this year - La Cave du Chateau Bordeaux, sister to the renowned shop in Paris. This store stocks not only Domaine Clarence Dillon wines, but many different wine producerswho excel in the field. They are a centre for excellence, stocking the best wines to dedicated enthusiasts. Plans are also in place to offer tastings alongside small bites of food. The future for Château La Mission Haut-Brion and its parent company Domaine Clarence Dion is a bright one and it willcontinue for generations to come.

London’s Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay

The red neon sign that greets you when you enter, glowing against the dark and sexy interiors is your first sign that Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay Mayfair is a cool spot. It’s a place for a night out. A place to dress up and be seen, not just eat good Asian food.

It’s a sleek, sexy, luxurious hangout where an open kitchen takes centre stage. It very much has the vibes of a cool Tokyo bar that just happens to serve incredible food alongside its extensive, inventive cocktail menu. Opening in 2019 in Mayfair, this was Gordon’s first major launch in the city in over ten years. Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay and his team have made several trips to Asia to discover ingredients and techniques that have helped them create the unique and special Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay menu. It is both quintessential Asian cuisine and distinctly Gordon Ramsay at the same time. It’s so popular, that a second London location is opening this year in Bishopsgste, with 360-degree views across the entire city.

The interior of this happening Mayfair night spot, designed by AfroditiKrassa, is moody and low-lit, with lots of attention to detail. Gold lucky cats adorn the walls and tables that look like shining beacons of good fortune in the mostly blackcolour palette. When the rich, colourful, aromatic, and visually exciting food and drinks hit your table, they make an even greater impact.

The main inspiration for the menu is Japanese cuisine, but you will also find lots of nods to other Asian cooking styles amongst its dishes. It is a small plates menu, designed to share over drinks. It is not a place for a speedy meal, as dishes come out as and when they are ready. It’s a place to make your way through an exciting drinks list and enjoy some food at the same time. Expect a whole range of options from Robatagrilled dishes to raw sushi and sashimi. There’s an enticing theatrical element to all the food – from the waiters who mix a fresh egg into your fried rice at the table, to the bright yellow tower of the Japanese Citrus Soufflé dessert that has its yuzuand passion fruit sauce poured into it in-front of you.

It’s a menu that is full of stand-out dishes, but other must-tries include the Bonito Fried Duck Leg Bao that are juicy and packed full of flavour, the baby chicken with fragrant tom khasauce and the melt-in-your mouth Wagyu sirloin. The quality and freshness of the ingredients make this a stellar menu that’s worth every penny of its hefty price tags.

Unveiling Ho Chi Minh City: A Journey Through History, Art and Culture at Hôtel des Arts Saigon Vietnam

Arts Saigon

A seamless blend of East and West and a testament to Vietnam’s rapid growth, bustling Ho Chi Minh City dazzles visitors with sleek skyscrapers and luxury hotels rising alongside historical French villas and ancient pagodas. Gone are the days when the city, still commonly referred to as Saigon, was merely a transit point for travelers rushing to their final beach destinations. A rich tapestry of culture, historic landmarks, Michelin-starred dining and vibrant contemporary art, nowadays Ho Chi Minh City is a glimmering metropolis with big name hotels at every turn.

Beneath all the glitz, the city still retains much of its charm and authenticity, with each corner narrating an engaging story. If you are craving a taste of adventure, hope on the back of a vintage Vespa and zip through the most iconic landmarks such as the Saigon Opera House, Reunification Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Ben Thanh Market and Central Post Office or forge a deeper connection with the lesser-known neighbourhoods teeming with local life.

Embarking on a day trip to the world-famous Cu Chi Tunnels and the tranquil Mekong Delta is a compelling reason to extend your stay. The itinerary offers valuable historical insights into Vietnam’s storied past and a relaxing escape from the busy city life. Navigating the narrow, dimly lit underground tunnels, trying your hand at a shooting range and exploring life-sustaining waterways on a private sampan certainly adds an exciting dimension to your Vietnam adventure.

Officially unveiled in October 2015, Hôtel des Arts Saigon is a sophisticated blend of timeless Indochina charm and modern flourishes. The artistic interior design, adorned with paintings and antiques from the owner's personal collection, is inspired by the incredible strength and beauty of Vietnamese women. Smooth corners, sensuous curves and arching lines – common features throughout the 24-storey hotel – lend to the feminine theme which is further emphasized by the neoclassic facade of the building. And whether by coincidence or fate, the very street upon which the hotel is situated, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, is named after a Vietnamese woman widely regarded as a revolutionary hero.

Conceptualized by Australian architect Scott Whittaker, the creative force behind numerous five-star projects in the region, Hôtel des Arts Saigon invites you to escape the ordinary with its world-class amenities and warm, intuitive service. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a female host dressed in a traditional ao dai. Embroidered with chrysanthemums, it symbolizes the prosperity and luxury lifestyle of the Vietnamese aristocracy in the olden days.

The grand reception desk, reminiscent of a fancy presidential bureau, and flower-shaped chandeliers perfectly compliment the hotel’s artistic ambience. As you await the elevator to whisk you up, take note of the vintage telephone at the end of the corridor –a nod to 1930s French Indochina, serving as an imaginary communication tool back to the bygone era.

Hôtel des

Channeling muted elegance, the 168 rooms and suites are designed to put your jetlag in place. The refined interiors, dressed in soothing creams with touches of gold, feature custom-made furniture, period artworks, decadent claw-foot bathtubs and polished parquet flooring. Each key unlocks a living space that delivers a lesson in hedonism, but it is the lavish Executive Studio Suites that steal the show! Situated on the upper floors, they grant a more spacious stay and create an excellent vantage point to observe the awe-inspiring traffic of Ho Chi Minh City from a comfortable distance. Guests staying in the executive rooms and suites enjoy exclusive access to the Sky Lounge, complete with comfortable seating, work areas and a range of additional perksfrom private check-in to complimentary dining offerings available from dawn to dusk.

Le Spa des Artistes by L’Apothiquaire, which can be found on the third floor, cultivates a tranquil atmosphere by fusing European expertise and local traditions. A gracious host to six sumptuously appointed treatment rooms, it offers a quick escape from hectic city life. The carefully calibrated menu balances natural ingredients such as coconut, sea salt, milk and mud with advanced cellular skincare solutions by Valmont. Surrender to a signature 95-minute pampering that harnesses the healing power of flowers, herbs and plants or opt for a relaxing hot stone therapy.

Home to four different restaurants and bars, each with its own unique influence, Hôtel des Arts Saigon takes you on an enriching culinary ourney ranging from casual simplicity to fine gastronomy. No matter what kind of connoisseur you are, let your exploration begin here. Start your day with a sprawling buffet at Saigon Kitchen, an eclectic all-day restaurant centered around an openkitchen concept. Live cooking stations, copper pots, bespoke vintage tiles and mismatched furniture evoke the feeling of dining at a bustling Asian street food market while remaining within your comfort zone.

The thoughtfully curated breakfast menu makes a note of everything! Indulge in a decadent array of specialties that go above and beyond, featuring a daily rotation of local dishes along with imported cheeses, airy just-baked pastries and exotic fruits in a rainbow of colours and flavours. Vietnamese favourites such as the hearty Pho, delicate Banh Hoi and world-famous Banh Mi will keep you fueled for a day of adventures, even more so when paired with a local dark roast coffee sweetened by condensed milk.

With an emphasis on farm produce, the lunch menu at Saigon Kitchen is an equally impressive affair that includes traditional Vietnamese options like caramelized chicken wings and grilled pork with vermicelli noodles, as well as an assortment of panAsian and Western bistro dishes.

The compelling ambience of Café des Beaux-Arts, located on the ground floor, is a fitting invitation to retreat indoors during the hottest part of the day. Delight in Paris-Saigon Afternoon Tea extravaganza modelled after French ‘salons de thé’. The savoury snack box, reminiscent of a vintage suitcase, presented along with an open bird cage filled with confectionary and baked goods, balances eastern and western fare to the spectacular effect. Served with a free-flow premium selection of tea and coffee, the artfully crafted set promises a delightful journey of unexpected flavour parings.

Enhanced by period music from the grand piano, this elegant experience extends an opportunity to leisurely admire the hotel’s most renowned artworks. Among them are the evocative sketches by Bui Xuan Phai and the captivating ‘Royal Life’ lacquer painting by Bui Huu Hung.

Distinguished from the soft ambience of the hotel, the upscale Social Club Restaurant, perched on the 23rd floor, is a swanky brainchild of the internationally acclaimed Japanese design studio Super Potato. Its vibrant yet seductive interior is a splendid mix of dark wood, geometrical arches and gleaming gold accents. Rich wooden banisters, crafted from repurposed table legs create intimate nooks throughout the room, while chic chandeliers, velvet upholstery and polished flooring establish the dignified air of an exclusive gentlemen’s club. But the real ‘pièce de résistance’ is the 1910s oakwood Victorian bar, acquired by the hotel’s owner at an auction in London. Serving as an instant link to that era and locale, it sets the right tone as soon as you step out of the elevator.

Offering spectacular sunset views over the city’s glimmering skyline, this intimate venue stands as one of the hottest meal tickets in Ho Chi Minh City. Enthralling diners with elegant presentations, the menu puts the spotlight on fresh seafood and premium cuts alongside a selection of western dishes. From delicate Hokkaido scallops and tender 400-day grain-fed Wagyu striploin to the exquisite flavours of premium sturgeon caviar and pan seared foie gras, the culinary offerings of the Social Club Restaurant cater to the most discerning gourmet palates.

Revealing the legendary glamour and allure of yesteryear Europe through the lens of energetic modern day Vietnam, the drink menu is notably remarkable - try one of the handcrafted cocktails, explore the extensive wine list or take time to appreciate the complex character of a well-aged whiskey. With the taste profiles ranging from sour to smoky, any preference and curiosity is sure to discover a pleasant surprise.

If your stay falls on a Sunday, you are in for a treat. The 6-hour long free-flow and all-you-can-eat EPIC Brunch, beloved by locals and travelers alike, flaunts an incredible buffet scene stretching from exquisite seafood and fresh-from-the-farm salads to delicate deserts and everything in between. And if that is not enough to impress even the most seasoned brunch-goers, there is an entire cheese and charcuterie room, a pop-up champagne and caviar trolley and a fun nitrogen marshmallows experience delivered tableside.

Up-tempo DJ sets contribute to a festive feel-good atmosphere, by providing an energetic soundtrack to lively conversations and the sounds of sizzling meat, fizzing Veuve Clicquot and freshly shucked oysters. They don’t call it the epic brunch for no reason!

The alchemy of the Social Club Restaurant extends to the stylish Social Club Rooftop Bar, an outdoor lounge offering breathtaking views of the city. Perched on the 24th floor, it boasts an infinity pool with a swim-up bar and a chic lounge area, synonymous with sundowners. The decadent optics of sipping a cocktail while floating around in your swimwear is simply too tempting to miss! The perfect spot to witness the paintings of the sky that come alive every evening at sunset, Social Club Rooftop Bar embraces a hip, come-as-you-are vibe that creates an instant sense of welcome.

Rooted in the French ‘art de vivre’, Hôtel des Arts Saigon insists on indulging in life’s finest pleasures. Its timeless elegance and old- world glamour, coupled with exceptional service from a dedicated team of hospitality professionals, will make you feel like a member of a private hedonistic club rather than just a guest at the hotel. Extend your stay in Ho Chi Minh City for a few extra days to savour it all!

Exclusive Interview with Rabih Fakhreddine,

Founder and CEO Of 7 Management

Tell us a bit about yourself and how did you career start in hospitality?

It all started in the heart of my family home’s kitchen where my passion for cooking first ignited. Since childhood, I have always loved experimenting with flavors and the excitement that culinary creations bring. During my time as an undergraduate at the American University of Beirut, I channeled my love for hospitality and social interaction by actively participating in numerous student clubs, engaging in organizing university events.

While pursuing my studies, I dived into the world of hospitality by investing in restaurants and bars. Following my graduation in 2006 with a degree in Business Marketing, I began my professional journey in sales, eventually ascending the managerial ranks for the Levant region at British American Tobacco. However, my passion for the hospitality industry persists so I knew this was the path for me.

In 2011, I embarked on my entrepreneurial path with the launch of my first bar, Faces, in the vibrant heart of Beirut's entertainment hub, the Hamra district. In the following years, I introduced several more venues, each distinguished by its unique thematic appeal, such as “February 30”, “Checkpoint Charlie” and “Walkman”.

What made you decide to launch your own company?

From my student days, I eagerly embraced every opportunity and ventured into various fields. Balancing my corporate job with my entrepreneurial aspirations, I knew the time would arrive to prioritize my own dreams.

With the debut of Beirut’s Seven Sisters in 2015, I took the leap, establishing 7 Management after leaving my job. Since then, 7 Management has been introducing exceptional and distinct concepts like February 30, Sayf, The Theater, Café Beirut, Antika, Black Flamingo, and Lucia’s, harmonizing my love for excellent cuisine and top-tier entertainment across the Middle East.

Founding 7 Management has proven to be a strategic move. Today, I am part of the Young President’s Organization UAE, honored as the Best Nightlife Entrepreneur of 2023, and recognized in the Caterer Middle East F&B Power 50 List.

What area of business does 7 Management specialize in?

We excel in crafting exceptional hospitality experiences, boasting over 11 cutting-edge brands spread across three countries. Antika thrives in Beirut, Dubai, and Doha, Sayf shines in Beirut and Dubai, while Lucia graces Dubai and Doha. Dubai hosts a variety of our venues including The Theater, February 30, Seven Sisters, and more.

Each of our locations holds a distinctive, immersive narrative. Our innovative concepts are trailblazing, setting us apart in the market. By infusing each venue with identity, meaning, and values, we cultivate engaged and loyal customers who seek emotional connections and continuous engagement.

Our unparalleled brand DNA ensures that our concepts are never replicated elsewhere. Hearing about businesses mimicking our ideas is a testament to our influence, rather than a concern. We thrive on staying ahead of the competition through our originality and uniqueness, establishing ourselves as trendsetters. This is what differentiates us and will continue to do so.

What are your top 5 business tips?

Get to know the region: The MENA region provides expansive opportunities for those who make the effort to understand this complex market and how to compete in it. It is a very diverse region with its own traditions, norms, and tastes. Localization and collaborations with home-grown businesses, key opinion leaders and regional platforms are instrumental when it comes to enhancing business and brand awareness. Get to know what your customers really want and deliver on every level, with no detail taken for granted.

Uniqueness above everything: Having a new and unique idea that can compete in a highly competitive market is paramount. I cannot stress enough how pivotal it is to have an innovative idea to be able to compete in a saturated market such as the MENA region and even more importantly to be able to stand out and pass the test of time.

Take every opportunity and go for it: The region’s economic outlook is promising, unlike the grim forecasts of many countries and other regions. Notably, the GCC is an excellent market for entrepreneurs with a booming hospitality industry. Governments are intentionally supporting the industry and making the region attractive for entertainment, tourism, and leisure. There is an influx of investments in hospitality, including hotels and F&B outlets. Here is the best place to make that dream a reality.

All eyes on KSA: Saudi Arabia presents a huge opportunity; it is a young and hungry F&B market that is avidly welcoming new concepts and brands. The Saudi Vision 2030 has dedicated a great part to the hospitality and tourism industries and is aiming for 100 million visits per year by 2030. This is an excellent time to get the ball rolling on exciting hospitality projects in a booming region.

Go global: In Dubai we are in competition with many international players, which means we can compete and hold our own on a global level. I hope this encourages more Middle Eastern entrepreneurs to become global players, pushing boundaries, and popularizing homegrown brands around the world. Only a handful of brands from the region have turned into world-class global names with international operations. It has been mostly a one-way street, with an influx of international brands into the Middle East. Rather than come to us, it is time we go to them.

What exciting projects are you presently working on?

This year, we're thrilled to announce our global expansion through exciting partnerships with international brands. In Athens, Greece, we are set to unveil Bagatelle at the Astir Marina this summer, embodying the brand's essence in a breathtaking setting. Moreover, 7 Management will oversee seven themed restaurants on the exquisite island of "Sindalah" by Joel Robuchon. In the UAE, we are introducing Beirut's renowned Meat the Fish at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, along with Em Sherif, the acclaimed Lebanese fine dining establishment that secured the 8th spot in the MENA's 50 Best Restaurants 2024 list, following its remarkable success in London, Monaco, and other premier locations. Our commitment to Dubai remains strong as we continue to innovate and deliver more exciting projects in the future.

What is the greatest lesson you’ve learnt in your career?

Launching a business in Lebanon teaches you perseverance, whatever the circumstances. In the past few years, Lebanon has witnessed many circumstances that would have discouraged any investor, but we have always emerged from crises and rebuilt ourselves. So, what I learned is that you should never give up, no matter what the circumstances are. You will have good days, and you will have bad ones wherever you are and whatever field you’re working in.

What is one motto you live by?

I have a motto I truly believe in: “True leaders create other leaders not followers”.

Leaders must believe in their teams and empower them, ordering them around achieves nothing for any of us. None of my ideas would have materialized if it weren’t for my empowered team whose opinions and input are of upmost importance to me. Being humble, being a good listener, accepting feedback, and discussing challenges facing a company are some of the most vital qualities a leader should have. It is important to be in constant touch with various departments and remain in the loop. Expressing gratitude for my team and encouraging them to stay motivated is key. A healthy work environment is not a luxury or a corporate ideology - it’s the only way your people will keep on creating, growing, and flourishing. In return, a company that has a team who shares and believes in its vision will have its dreams turned into reality.

housing market trends influence the European property market in 2024

With Google searches for overseas holiday homes up 52 per cent this year compared to 2022, a group of international property experts at Your Overseas Home has revealed six ways the dynamic UK housing market could continue to affect overseas property purchases in mainland Europe in 2024.

Whether you’re selling up to move or retire abroad full-time, buying a holiday home with the family, or investing in buy-to-let properties abroad, the UK housing market can have a direct impact on the overseas buying market.

For example, UK housing price trends, changing housing policies and fluctuations in the pound significantly influence investment patterns and property values across the Channel and in mainland Europe.

When property prices in the UK increase and become less affordable for domestic buyers, it naturally leads them to look for more financially viable opportunities abroad, particularly in areas known for lower property prices, such as Spain, Portugal and Greece.

Similarly, economic shifts – including fluctuating interest rates and currency exchange rates – influence overseas property investments. A strong pound, for instance, might encourage UK buyers and investors to venture into the European market as they can get more value for their money.

Christopher Nye, Your Overseas Home’s content editor and expert in buying property in Spain commented: “For decades, the UK and mainland Europe have had a close but often complicated relationship. Unsurprisingly, this relationship extends beyond politics and economics and trickles into the world of property and real estate.

“There are many benefits to owning property abroad vs. in the UK, which is why, despite the various ups and downs, people continue to want to buy in and move to mainland Europe.

“Values in many locations abroad are still rising, for example, making properties in these areas safe investments. Not to mention, a lot of countries outside of the UK also enjoy lower property taxes, utility prices and general cost of living.”

Price trends

Fluctuations in property prices in the UK can greatly influence decisions to invest overseas. For example, if housing prices in the UK increase significantly, investors might look for more affordable opportunities in foreign markets. On the other hand, a slight drop in UK property prices could drive more buyers to purchase domestically due to increased affordability. This has a knock-on effect as it could potentially reduce demand for properties in mainland Europe.

Economic factors

Changes in economic conditions, including shifts in interest rates, inflation and currency exchange rates, can greatly influence the profitability of investing in overseas property markets. For example, a strong pound allows buyers in the UK to get more for their money overseas.

UK mortgage rates are another factor to consider. When mortgage rates in the UK are high, buyers might be deterred from purchasing property domestically due to increased borrowing costs.

Housing policies

Regulations and policies related to housing in the UK can significantly affect overseas property investment, including things like punitive taxes on second homes. Stamp duty can be as much as 12 per cent on the highest-value properties in the UK, not to mention the threat of 300 per cent council tax on empty second homes in places like Wales and Cornwall. If restrictions or taxes for property ownership tighten domestically, it could cause buyers to consider markets overseas, where the regulatory environment may be more favourable.

Socio-political climate

For investors in particular, Brexit and its resulting uncertainty led many to diversify their portfolios and consider property markets outside the UK. Such socio-political changes can affect both domestic and overseas markets.

Investor sentiment and portfolio diversification

Perceptions of the performance of the UK housing market can influence overseas property buying trends. If investors feel the UK market is oversaturated, or they want to hedge their bets due to perceived risks, they may be more likely to invest in a real estate abroad.

Investors also often seek to diversify their portfolios to spread risk. When the UK housing market is volatile or unfavourable, investors may choose to invest in overseas property to balance their portfolios.

Demand and supply gap

If the demand for housing exceeds supply in the UK, therefore leading to increased prices, people might turn to overseas markets where property availability is higher and prices, as well as the cost of living, are potentially more affordable.
