Richard Mille Avenge in Aspen Third win in four years
Richard Mille secured the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship title with a 9-6 win against St. Regis in the Final on Sunday 19 December, the win signified their third win in the last four years and Pablo MacDonough, who has been on all three of those winning teams, was chosen as the Most Valuable Player and commented, “It was good to win for the third time, we had a very good game. We played well. The most important thing was we won many throw-ins and we scored. It was an advantage towards the end of the game”. Richard Mille’s throw-in success, winning 90 per cent in the Final, meant that they led in the first half and also outscored St. Regis in the second half. Jessie Bray scored back-to-back goals early on in the third chukka, he took the High Scorer Award after scoring 12 goals in the tournament, however Nacho Figueras swiftly scored, followed by penaty conversions for Siegel Magness and Melissa Ganzi. The fourth and final chukka saw Richard Mille lead throughout, slowly increasing their advantage to 9-4 before St. Regis scored their last two goals.
The victory was all the sweeter after Richard Mille’s 11-10 overtime shootout in 2020 against WPL.
