Paul Sweeney Memorial Final; Ash Farm Polo Club; Sunday 20 February Record Breaking Final’s Day
The Paul Sweeney Memorial was founded by Lesley, Charlotte and Georgia Sweeney in memory of Paul Sweeney after his unexpected death in 2009 at just 48-years-old in order to keep his spirit and legacy alive. Each year, the tournament attracts a number of players and spectators, gathering at Ash Farm Polo Club to cheer on the finalists. This year saw a record number of teams and after a two-year postponement due to Covid-19, the grandstands were packed. Twelve Oaks managed to stave off a last-minute attempt by Rosina to claim the title and took a 14-12 victory.

37th Snow Polo World Cup St. Moritz; 28 – 30 January Sun & Snow Sets the Scene For A Sell-Out Event
St. Moritz has 322 days of sunshine every year, and the weather gods were clearly in cahoots with the polo deities, as despite an initial rather grim forecast, the entire three day tournament was bathed in the most welcome warm alpine sunshine as we made our great escape from the grey British winter. The event was a complete sell out with players, polo aficionados and the elite of St. Moritz and European society converging on the iconic frozen lake of St. Moritz where the polo has been played since 1985. The three day spectacle of impressive polo was matched by uber glamorous social events both on and off the ice. Whether enjoying tunes from DJ Mike in the VIP grandstands whilst sipping Perrier-Jouët, grazing on endless caviar in the VIP pitch-side hospitality, attending the lavish Gala Dinner hosted with great style at Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, sharing a fondue at the Steffani Hotel on Players’ Night, or partying with patrons until the early hours in the King’s Club; St. Moritz has it all, and more. Haven’t been there? Why not?!
