Demantoid Demantoid Garnet--the rarest of all the garnet varieties, was first discovered in the Ural Mountains in Russia in 1886, and was named demantoid for its diamond-like luster. It became a great favorite of European aristocracy in the late 19th century, but its mining ended with the Bolshevik revolution in 1917. Demantoid mining in Russia has been resumed only in the last 20 years. Even with the discovery of new sources since the 1990s, demantoid remains very rare, and the quality of the top Russian material is far superior. Demantoid had its greatest impact in Imperial Russia, and quickly became a mainstay of the Tsar’s court jewelers in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Demantoid was even a favorite of some renowned European families and can be seen in many high-end Victorian jewels and even jewels from big jewelry houses such as Cartier, Tiffany & Co. and Audemars Piguet. Demantoid is valued by collectors for its exceptional brilliance and luster . It has a green color that rivals emerald and a luster that exceeds diamond. The rarest and most valuable demantoid comes from Russia. The Demantoid from Russia display internal fine needles in a radiating pattern that has become known in the trade as a horsetail inclusion, wavy, golden, and fibrous. Only the Russian demantoid displays this unique feature, which is highly prized by collectors and jewelry enthusiasts. Vivid Color Diamonds As one of the most important gemstones and a symbol of eternal love, diamonds are highly sought after by numerous people. Diamonds have many different colors like colored gemstones, and they are divided into nine levels according to the degree of color depth, of which fancy vivid is the best level of color. Different forms of formation can result in different colors of diamonds while causing price differences for each color diamond. For example, during the formation of the yellow diamond, when the nitrogen atom replaces some carbon atoms in the diamond crystal, it will begin to absorb the blue and purple light, resulting in the yellow color of the diamond. Some very small amount of boron in blue diamond makes the diamond blue, and the output of blue diamonds is only 0.1% of the diamond output in the Cullinan Mine. The delicate pink diamonds are more demanding in their formation conditions, requiring structural translation and distortion to eventually acquire such an attractive color. Even in Australia's Argyle mine, which produces the largest amount of pink diamonds, their output accounts for less than 1% of the more than 800 million carats of diamonds produced. Red diamond, the rarest of all the colored diamonds, with its mysterious forming process, the gorgeous color and the extremely rare output, makes its value always remain high. In the main production mine Argyle, sometimes the total output of red diamonds is not more than 3 carats a year. Red diamonds with more than 2 carats in all red diamonds are extremely difficult to find. Red diamond, its mystery and rarity make it like a nobleman in diamonds. The formation of red diamonds is still a mystery. GIA researchers who have been studying diamonds for decades have not been able to determine the cause of their redness. There is only one widely spread saying that atomic structural defects are caused by atomic sliding, which eventually produces red. The rarity of the red diamond is one of the main reasons for its extraordinary preciousness. The pure red diamond does not have any secondary hues such as purple, orange or brown. The value of such red diamonds is difficult to estimate. According to the GIA's accreditation record, there was not even a red diamond report described as "Predominantly red" during the 30 years from 1957 to 1987. Therefore, being able to see and even own a "Predominantly red" red diamond is a dream that many collectors dream of. The red diamond has very strict requirements on the color concentration and saturation, so the red diamond is only graded on the Fancy Red. Art Deco occurred between the two World Wars in the first half of the twentieth century, it is a wide range of artistic trends that lead to the taste of life and the spirit of the times. Its profound influence covers almost all forms of visual art, including art, architecture, interior design, clothing, film, photography, and even jewelry design. Art Deco started at France, it took its name from ‘The Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels’ which held in Paris in 1925, Art Deco has become the highest standard of aesthetic taste in the 1920s and 1930s. The third generation of Cartier’s head displayed many ‘modern’ style jewelry designs in this expo. This further promoted Cartier's milestone transformation from the ‘garland’ style to the ‘modern’ style. Natural Pearls Cartier was founded in a jewellery workshop in Paris in 1874, the unique design and craftsmanship have made Cartier’s name world-renowned. Cartier’s centuries-old development is like a history of jewellery, recording the gorgeous jewels of different periods. Looking back at Cartier’s experience, it is not difficult to find that it has a close relationship with the royal family. Edward VII gave Cartier the title of “King’s Jeweler, King of Jewelers”, and in 1904 Cartier was appointed as a British court supplier. Cartier’s jewels are closely related to everything in nature. Their image is often found in Cartier’s design. Through the superb skills, their jewels are vivid and exquisite. The classic leopard image is sought after by countless people. Natural pearl jewelry is also an indispensable part of Cartier’s work. In 1912, Pierre Cartier exchanged a pearl necklace for a $925,000 building from the famous businessman Morton Plante. In 2015, a Cartier gray pearl necklace was sold at HK$41.08 million. The pearl necklace that participated in this auction was designed by Cartier in the 1920s. The pearls gradual change from small to large and show a perfect streamlined shape, while also highlighting the roundness and bright color of the center pearl. The 11 pearls are joined together in a string, and the diamond inlay buckle adds a touch of radiance to the overall color.

A 10.66 CARAT LIGHT PINK DIAMOND AND DIAMOND RING, BY CARTIER Gorgeous and dazzling things are often born in beautiful accidents, just as the rare pink diamonds reveal a fascinating pink light due to the dislocation of the internal carbon atoms and the deformation of the crystal lattice, therefore, it is sought after by many collectors and upper-level people. The formation of pink diamonds is really difficult, which also leads to the scarcity of the number. This 10.66 carat light pink diamond by Cartier, of VVS2 clarity is very rare in its classification. This diamond has been cut and polished following traditionally faceting techniques which were used over a century ago in order to produce an antique-looking stone. By reflecting and refracting the surrounding panorama of light to the viewer’s eye, the pink diamond shows amazing brilliance and fire in a mosaic and artistic composition, full of vibrancy and vitality.

It is , therefore sought after by many collectors and upper-class people. 翠色雅韻 We are honored in this auction to offer this necklace with eleven smoothly carved and perfectly matched jadeite cabochons. It showcases the absolute finest-quality of jadeites - almost transparent with a vibrant and vivid green color, and without obvious veins and cloudiness. The combination of these qualities is known as “Imperial Jade”, as opinions from both prestigious gemological laboratories Gubelin confirm in their reports. The largest jadeite cabochon measuring approximately 19.19 x 17.35 x 7.02 mm, the color is pure and penetrating, a vivid hue with no hint of gray that looks bright and intensive even from a distance. The texture of the best jadeite so fine that it appears semitransparent – the text you can read through it would be slightly blurred. It is created by tight interlocking crystals and an absence of any impurities such as veins and cloudiness. With light entering and penetrating below the surface of the stone, the semitransparent jadeite like this displays an alluring brilliance.
