When it comes to productivity, the powerful PONSSE Mammoth forwarder raises Ponsse’s forwarder product range to a new size category. Equipped with the stepless Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system and the K121 loader, the Mammoth’s sturdy frame structures make it the most powerful forwarder on the market. ERGONOMICS ON A WHOLE NEW LEVEL
In the PONSSE Mammoth forwarder, operator ergonomics has been addressed every step of the way. One of the most prominent new features is the PONSSE Active Seat, available as an option, which is an excellent new product that has been developed with a focus on ergonomics and usability according to forest machine operators’ requests. The new Active Seat improves usability, as it turns and follows the work environment according to crane movements, increasing the forest machine operator’s productivity. The Active Seat, developed by Ponsse, is only available for PONSSE forest machines.
NEW FEATURES IN THE PONSSE MAMMOTH FOR INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY
• The PONSSE Active Cabin, an effective cabin suspension system with a simple structure, helps forest machine operators keep going, even during longer shifts, by suspending any stress on the cabin.
• The long rear frame enables the transport of long stems at plantations, for example. The forwarder features the largest load space in the Ponsse product range: 6.8 or 8.0 m2 .
• With the PONSSE Active Crane control system, the operator controls grapple movements instead of individual functions, allowing the operator to concentrate effectively on working with the loader. Active Crane is easily controlled using two levers, one of which controls the grapple height from the ground, and the other the direction of movement.
• The Mammoth’s transmission is based on the CVT technology, the stepless changing of gear ratios. In a forest machine equipped with CVT, the conventional hydrostatic transmission is replaced by a separate CVT system. This enables higher fuel economy and tractive force. The advantages of a high tractive force are especially evident when working at demanding conditions
• The K121 loader combines high slewing and lifting power, longer reach, new loader geometry and good controllability.
The K121 loader improves the effectiveness of working in conditions where load handling takes up a large part of working hours. It also makes working easier at worksites where large trees are processed. Mammoth can be equipped with loader tilt that facilitate works at slopes where the loader is required to produce power, and the crane pillar needs tilt angle for the smooth processing of loads.
The PONSSE Mammoth offers the highest productivity when driving distances are long. For example, less driving is required on plantations, because more stems can be transported each time.
