OUR SERVICES… OUR ADVANTAGE REGULAR SHIPPING ROUTES Containers: feeder services operated by Unifeeder and BG Freight Line to and from Felixstowe and Rotterdam. RoRo: deep-sea and short-sea services operated by Hoëgh Autoliners and Euro Marine Logistics connect to Europe, the Baltics, Mediterranean, Scandinavia, Asia, the Middle East, South Pacific and North and South America. Ferries: DFDS operates a daily service to Amsterdam providing freight connections to mainland Europe. TYNE CLEAN ENERGY PARK (TCEP) A fantastic opportunity for renewables companies, providing an infrastructure catering for all renewable energy production needs, with a total of 200 acres of land. We have capacity to load, unload and store more than 600,000 cars a year. We also handle vans, trucks, mining and construction equipment and even train carriages. CONTAINERS Containers in, containers out, there is a constant flow through Port of Tyne’s deepwater, high-security container terminal.

Known as South Shields (GBSSH) we play a vital role in, and add value to many unique, complex and timesensitive supply chains providing flexibility to handle the ebb-and-flow of customer demand.

What’s in the boxes? Tea, clothing, household goods, automotive parts and recovered materials, to name just a few.

DRY BULK From cranes, grabs, hoppers and loading shovels to weigh bridge, conveyor system and rail links, the scope and diversity of the Port of Tyne’s bulk handling equipment and the expertise of our people more than match up to the wide variety of dry bulk we handle.

From aggregates and agribulks to wood pellet and scrap metal, the Port of Tyne handles millions of tonnes of bulk cargoes every year. We are one of the market leaders in wood pellet and agribulks – and we are equipped to facilitate end-to-end logistics for all types of bulk cargoes. Our ability to handle vessels up to panamax size gives our customers significant advantages in terms of economies of scale.

Riverside Quay offers almost a kilometre of berthing with a maximum draught of 13 metres. BREAKBULK The Port of Tyne has years of experience in handling breakbulk cargoes such as forest products and metals. We positively relish the challenge of those unique, one-off project cargoes and offer a flexible approach to our provision of services on site

The Port of Tyne has the facilities, equipment and expertise to handle a wide range of unitised, breakbulk and project cargoes. Construction and recycled materials, forest products, steel, machinery and project cargoes – we handle the lot. Breakbulk and project cargoes are shipped on regular deep sea and shortsea services. PROJECT CARGO We can… and we do. Giant pieces of machinery, rolling stock, modular units, jack up barges, heavy equipment, entire fabricated buildings we do it all.

The Port of Tyne has many years’ experience handling heavy lift and project cargo. Our deep water berths, RoRo ramps, covered and open storage, a rail terminal and a wide range of gantry and slewing cranes, plus a good dose of our flexible ‘can do’ attitude, mean we’re well equipped to take care of your project cargo and heavy lift requirements. TRANSPORT We operate a modern fleet of tractor units and trailers, providing highly responsive, scalable transport services for our customers, carrying everything from automotive parts to footwear.

Our transport services form an integral part of the Port of Tyne logistics package; that means customers can depend on our expertise at every stage of the supply chain. By running our own in-house transport service we keep control and can ensure great service for final mile delivery. The Port of Tyne offers easy access to the A1, M1, A19, A66 and A69. WAREHOUSING Port of Tyne operates portcentric warehouses that are secure, efficient, cost-effective and hassle-free. We offer a range of palletised and out of gauge bulk storage for a variety of different products including tea, paper, coffee, construction parts, steel, clothing, household goods, and FMCG.

We listened to our customers and developed our warehousing to match their very specific needs. We provide unique solutions to satisfy all storage and port-centric transport requirements. Whether it’s just-in-time or just-in-case, in times of uncertainty or growth our warehouses can provide a welcome buffer in your supply chain. We support our customers with added value services such as container vanning/devanning, order picking, assembly, packing, labelling and sampling.

All of this right next to the quayside where the containers are loaded and unloaded through our globally connected container terminal. We’ve invested heavily in IT; our up-to-the-minute warehouse management system controls stock replenishment, picking and packing, and tracking and traceability. Customers can keep tabs on their stock levels online, saving cost and time.
