Refund policy
Any refund/withdrawal request for recreation services or activities will be pro-rated and charged an administration fee of $5 for each individual activity withdrawal. No charge for activity transfers.
Refund requests will be accepted up to the third class of a registered activity or up to 48 hours prior to a single-day registered activity. Seven days notice is required to withdraw from camps. All membership plans are non-transferable and non-refundable. Call 604 927 7529 with any questions.

WOMEN’S LEARN TO SKATE AND PLAY
Bringing women together to have fun, be active and learn the fundamentals of skating, hockey and ringette, the Recreation Department has partnered with the Tri–City Predators and PCRM Ringette Association to offer a 6 week introductory women’s ice sport program: 3 weeks basic skating, 1 week hockey, 1 week ringette and 1 week scrimmage. Prerequisite: Skate with balance and control demonstrating the ability to move forward independently. Equipment: Fee includes free use of skates, helmet with face cage, stick and hockey gloves. HOCKEY BASICS
Learn to Play Hockey
Tot Hockey and Hockey Basics programs follow the Canadian Sport for Life Model, and offer an active start into the game of hockey with the focus on teaching basic skills. These programs also serve as a try it first opportunity for parents who want their children to sample the game of hockey or ringette and/or develop some basic skills before committing to an association.
TOT AND PARENT HOCKEY LEVEL 1 (4–6YRS)
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Tot Level 1 or ability to stand, balance and move forward on their own.

TOT AND PARENT HOCKEY –LEVEL 1
Let’s play hockey together! Join us at the ice rink where guardians support their children as they learn fundamental hockey skills, strengthen basic skating skills and enjoy mini scrimmages. Prerequisite: Participants must be able to stand, balance and move forward independently on skates. Basic skating skills are needed to learn hockey skills, and children who are unable to independently skate need to first successfully complete Tot 1 of the Learn to Skate program or be assessed.
Equipment: Lesson fee includes skates, helmet, hockey gloves and stick. Full gear not recommended. Age: 4–6
Learn basic hockey skills and strengthen existing skating skills in a fun and interactive program. Weekly classes conclude with an informal, non-contact scrimmage. Get a few friends together to play recreational non contact adult (19+) hockey at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre. Registration opens 7 days in advance for 20 participants to enjoy 1.25hrs of ice. For safety full gear mandatory and CSA approved hockey helmet and face cage highly recommended. Two free goalie spots available to register under a separate activity number also 7 days in advance starting at 8am. Age: 19+

Meet Port Coquitlam’s new Artist in Residence, Marn Norwich. Marn Norwich is a writing workshop facilitator, writing coach, poet and playwright. Her poetry book, Wildflowers at my doorstep (Karma Press), won an Independent Publisher Book Award.
During her residency, Marn will launch the Muse Project, a series of writing workshops on the theme of Connection. These workshops will present an opportunity for Port Coquitlam residents to engage their creativity, connect deeply to their truest stories and contact their wild and unique wisdom by participating in the writing process. The workshops will culminate in a community reading. She’ll also provide one-on-one writing mentorship for community members.
Marn will facilitate an all-ages Earth-Walk + Write event as part of the City’s Centennial May Day celebration. In our May Day Art Zone, she’ll lead a springtime–vision writing workshop for children in the Magic Tent, a world where transformation is possible!
