Celebrate May Days PoCo’s Spring Festival
Celebrate the 101st anniversary of PoCo’s May Days festival!
The festival kicks off Sunday, May 5 with the May Day opening ceremony, featuring maypole dancing and the introduction of the new 2024 May Day Royal Party.
The May Days Kids Bike Race is Saturday, May 11 at 10am in downtown Port Coquitlam followed by the Rotary May Day Parade at 11am with vibrant floats and marching bands.
Join us at the Party in the Square at the Terry Fox Hometown Square at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre for the May Days Market, carnival rides, live music, food trucks, beverage garden, kids activities and so much more.

Road Closures
Please note the following ROAD CLOSURES will be in effect for the event:
• Sat. May 11 | 7:30 am – 7:30 pm: Wilson Avenue closed - Between Mary Hill Road and Kingsway Avenue
• Sat. May 11 | 6 – 12 am: Leigh Square Place east of Shaughnessy Street closed
• Sat. May 11 | 9 am – 1 pm: Shaughnessy (Pitt River to Atkins) Rindall, Central, Hawthorne, Welcher & Tyner Avenue closed for parade assembly & dispersal. No street parking from 7 am – 2 pm.
• Sat. May 11 | 9:15 am – 1:30 pm: Shaughnessy Street from Wilson Avenue to the Shaughnessy Underpass, Elgin Avenue & Mary Hill Road & Hawthorne to Tyner closed during the parade
We apologize for any inconvenience. Please use alternate routes along Coast Meridian Overpass, Lougheed Highway, Maple Street, Reeve Street, and Pitt River Road.
No Parking on Parade Assembly streets (7 am – 2 pm).

PoCo May Days Kids Bike Race
10 am Downtown Port Coquitlam
The Kids’ Bike Race will take place on Saturday, May 11 from 10 to 10:45 am and will be divided into three heats racing along a 2.6km course:
• 10:15 am: 3 to 4 years old racing 100m
• 10:25 am: 5 to 8 years old racing 1.3km
• 10:35 am: 9 to 12 years old racing 2.6km
Advance registration is required. Participants must provide their own properly fitting bike in good working condition, and a properly fitting bike helmet.

• 9 to 12 years old: 2.6km race (2 laps)
