Trauma …when we have encountered an out of control, frightening experience that has exhausted our sense of resourcefulness, safety or ability to cope. Trauma contains three common elements: It was unexpected. There was no way to prepare. There was nothing that could be done to stop it from happening. Trauma affects the whole person; mind, body and spirit. Recovery must take into consideration the person as a whole.


RESILIENCE Making the right choice from a range of responses. The ability to adapt. To experience growth in a time of struggle.

RESILIENT RESPONSES Recognize emotions come in waves. It’s ok to have a lousy day and crying can be healthy. Manage your interpretation of what’s happening.
