HOW TO APPLY
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Submit your application and pay the $60 application fee. PSU waives the application fee for eligible applicants.
Students earning college credit while in high school, through programs such as Early College or Running Start, are considered first years for admission purposes.
Submit official transcripts from all schools attended.
FIRST YEAR Graduate from high school with a cumulative unweighted GPA of at least 2.5 and earn grades of C- or better in the following areas: English: 4 units Math: 3 units including Algebra II Science: 3 units Social Studies: 3 units Oregon high school graduates only: 2 units of the same second language
OPTIONAL S ubmit test scores. PSU accepts the SAT and ACT tests. S ubmit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you are not eligible to submit the FAFSA and you live in Oregon, you can submit the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA). We encourage students to submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1. PSU's School code is 003216.
TRANSFER Students with 30 or more transferable quarter credits (20 semester credits) earned after high school graduation 2.25 cumulative GPA, or 2.0 with a transferable associate degree Complete WR121 or equivalent with a grade of C- or better Oregon high school graduates only: Complete 2 units of the same second language Applicants who do not meet PSU’s admission requirements may still be considered for admission and may be subject to holistic review.

At PSU, our goal is to give you an excellent education at an affordable cost, helping you graduate with as little debt as possible. We offer a full range of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, loans, and Work Study programs. Nearly two-thirds of PSU students receive financial aid, and the average student receives more than $11,000 per year. All admitted students are automatically considered for all programs listed below.

All first year students live in first year-only floors in Broadway and Ondine. Transfer and continuing students can live in any of our nine residence halls. Students admitted to the Honors College have the option to live in Stephen Epler in an honors-specific community. We’re located in southwest Portland, which means when you live on campus, you’ll be immersed into the city center in one of our nine residence halls. Students are not required to live on campus. Apply by June 15 for a guaranteed spot.
