PORTLAND TIMBERS vs FC DALLAS PROVIDENCE PARK, Portland, Ore. June 11, 2014 (WEEK 15, MLS Game #137) 7 p.m. PT (ESPN2/Deportes) A crucial match in the Western Conference rounds out the MLS schedule before the World Cup break as the Portland Timbers return home to take on FC Dallas on Wednesday evening before an ESPN2 audience. The Timbers come back to the Rose City after extending their club record road winning streak to three games in a 3-1 triumph at Real Salt Lake last weekend. FC Dallas put an end to an eight-game winless run at home with a 3-2 victory against Colorado. The teams are separated by just two points in the division standings. REFEREE: Alan Kelly. A late Blas Perez goal gave FC Dallas a 2-1 victory, March 29 at Toyota Stadium.  The road team has never won in the series, in nine meetings all-time. The Timbers have won three of the four meetings all-time in Portland.  Coaches record: Oscar Pareja vs. POR: P7 W3 L3 T1 … Caleb Porter vs. DAL: P4 W2 L1 T1 LAST MEETING (MLS) 3/29: DAL 1, POR 1 (Perez 47+; Díaz 84 – own goal 66)  Before halftime, both teams were a man down as Portland’s Michael Harrington and FCD's Je-Vaughn Watson were both sent off by referee Sorin Stoica in the 39th minute for an off-the-ball incident.  FC Dallas took the lead in first-half stoppage time. Jair Benitez played in a far-post cross which was headed into the ground by Kellyn Acosta, and then headed past Timbers goalkeeper Andrew Weber by an unmarked Blas Perez.  But the visitors drew level on an odd play in the 66th minute. Portland forward Maximiliano Urruti’s pass for substitute Kalif Alhassan deflected off the foot of Dallas captain Matt Hedges, wrongfooting goalkeeper Chris Seitz as it caromed into the net.  Yet FC Dallas had one final answer. After the ball was sent back into the danger zone following an FCD free kick, Mauro Díaz shifted to his right in the heart of the area and fired a low shot past Weber for the 84th-minute match-winner.  FC DALLAS (4-2-3-1): Chris Seitz - Kellyn Acosta, Matt Hedges, Stephen Keel, Jair Benitez - Michel, Victor Ulloa (Zach Loyd 87) - Je-Vaughn Watson (ejected 40), Mauro Diaz, Fabian Castillo (Moises Hernandez 90) Blas Perez (David Texeira 66).  PORTLAND TIMBERS (4-2-1-3): Andrew Weber - Jack Jewsbury (Frederic Piquionne 87), Pa Modou Kah, Norberto Paparatto, Michael Harrington (ejected 39) - Diego Chara, Will Johnson - Diego Valeri - Darlington Nagbe (Alvas Powell 46), Maximiliano Urruti, Gaston Fernandez (Kalif Alhassan 62). PORTLAND TIMBERS The Portland Timbers won their third game out of the last four, going to Real Salt Lake and coming away with a 3-1 victory, Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium. The Timbers are in sixth place in the Western Conference with 19 points from 15 games.

MLS GAME INFORMATION

LAST MATCH  RSL took the lead in the 23rd minute. Defender Chris Schuler's header off a corner kick was deflected and the ball fell right to the feet of midfielder Luke Mulholland, who struck it hard inside the left post past Portland goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts.  But the Timbers equalized on a corner kick of their own in the 36th minute. Midfielder Diego Valeri put in a perfect service to the heart of the area where Fanendo Adi headed home inside the right-hand post of RSL goalkeeper Jeff Attinella.  The visitors took the lead in the 45th minute. Racing away downfield on a counterattack following a cleared Real corner, the Timbers broke on a four-on-two break. Attinella made a spectacular save on Darlington Nagbe, but Adi was there to slam home the rebound.  Real Salt Lake went a man down less than 10 minutes into the second half when referee Ismail Elfath pulled two yellow cards out of his pocket in the space of less than two minutes. RSL defender Beltran was first cautioned for grabbing Nagbe's jersey, and sent off after taking Nagbe down with a poorly timed tackle.  The Timbers iced the game in the 73rd minute when Schuler's arm blocked a flicked cross from Nagbe as he slid in the box, and Elfath whistled for a penalty for Portland. Will Johnson stepped up and calmly put the resulting spot kick into the net.  Timbers head coach Caleb Porter made three changes to the team that fell 4-3 to Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park. Norberto Paparatto came into central defense in place of Pa Modou Kah, Gaston Fernandez started in the midfield for Steve Zakuani, and Maximiliano Urruti came in up top for Fanendo Adi.  PORTLAND TIMBERS (4-2-3-1): Donovan Ricketts - Jack Jewsbury, Norberto Paparatto (Danny O'Rourke 60), Rauwshan McKenzie, Jorge Villafana - Will Johnson, Diego Chara - Diego Valeri, Darlington Nagbe (Kalif Alhassan 88), Gaston Fernandez (Steve Zakuani 68) - Fanendo Adi. TEAM NEWS  The Timbers extended their MLS club record winless streak on the road to three matches, and are now unbeaten in their last four away from Providence Park.  “I’m just happy that we got three points,” Timbers head coach Caleb Porter said. “We haven’t gotten results at home like we needed to, but we’ve now gotten three victories in a row on the road and that says a lot about this group. And it shows that even though we’re dropping a few points at home that we can make up for it. We have a lot of games left, home and away, and we need to do better at home starting with Dallas on Wednesday.”  The Timbers also won for the third time in the last four matches and have lost just once in their last eight games, dating back to April 27.  Returning to the starting lineup for the second time in three games, Fanendo Adi hit for his second two-goal game in that span, coming in each start. Adi has four goals and an assist in his last three games.  “It’s not just me scoring the goals, but it’s the whole team. Without the guys playing fantastic, I wouldn’t be able to get a goal as a striker, so it’s not just about me, it’s about the whole team. We played a nice game,” Adi said.  Diego Valeri recorded his league-leading eighth assist of the season, his fifth assist over the last three games. All eight of Valeri’s assists have come in the last seven games, since the May 3 win vs. D.C. United.  “[Adi] is on fire. The goal that he scores, and Diego [Valeri] as well. Those two guys are really producing,” said Will Johnson. “The goal where Adi just muscles a guy – you can’t teach that, it’s just instinctive. A big physical guy and the way that he scored that first goal, it just kind of opened them up a little bit, and really it was tough for them to bounce back from that. Those two guys are playing great and I think that everyone else is pitching in too.”  The Timbers also scored three goals in a game for the third time in the last five matches, and have scored multiple goals in five consecutive games. They are averaging 1.73 goals per game, the third-highest average in MLS.  “We’ve been handicapped a few times early in the year especially with some injuries. I think that line of three, having that fluid line, playing with more inverted wingers underneath, a true target-type nine really seemed to work ... I think basically our group of five guys with the two holding mids, [Diego] Chara and [Will] Johnson, and obviously [Darlington] Nagbe, Gaston [Fernandez], and [Diego] Valeri, those five guys really did a nice job on both sides of the ball with controlling the midfield,” Porter said. FC DALLAS FC Dallas put an end to their winless run after eight games, coming back for a 3-2 win against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday evening at Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas sit in a tie for fourth place in the Western Conference with 21 points from 16 games. LAST MATCH  The Rapids opened the scoring in the 25th minute. Drew Moor nodded a cross back across the face of goal and Deshorn Brown reacted quickest to it, chipping FC Dallas goalkeeper Raul Fernandez from inside the sixyard box.

MLS GAME INFORMATION

The home side were level just eight minutes later. Jair Benitez hammered a free kick straight out from goal, just beyond the restraining arc. The ball took a deflection off FCD striker Andres Escobar and wrong-footed Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin on its way to goal.  FCD took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Fabian Castillo saw his dribbling run halted just before reaching the Colorado penalty area, but Moor drove the loose ball goalward, again leaving Irwin little chance as it deflected slightly off a defender before reaching the back of the net.  The Rapids again leveled terms in the 52nd minute when a corner kick by Dillon Powers was powerfully headed on goal by Jose Mari. Benitez nearly nodded the ball off the line, but the ball still crashed into the top of the goal.  That set the stage for a brilliant match-winner. Castillo won the ball near the center circle, beat three Rapids defenders directly off the dribble and then took a quick shot from the left side of the penalty area for the 62ndminute winner.  FCD head coach Oscar Pareja made four changes to the team that dropped a 2-1 result to the San Jose Earthquakes at Toyota Stadium. Raul Fernandez came in between the posts in place of Chris Seitz, Jair Benitez came back in at left back for Moises Hernandez, and Peter Luccin and Andres Escobar entered the side in place of Je-Vaughn Watson and the suspended Adam Moffat.  FC DALLAS (4-4-2): Raul Fernandez - Zach Loyd, Walker Zimmerman (Stephen Keel 44), Matt Hedges (JeVaughn Watson 46), Jair Benitez - Fabian Castillo, Peter Luccin (Andrew Jacobson 57), Victor Ulloa, Tesho Akindele - Blas Perez, Andres Escobar. TEAM NEWS  FC Dallas won for the first time since the April 19 victory vs. Toronto FC, going 0-6-2 over their eight-game winless skein, tied for the fourth-longest winless run in the club’s 19-year history. The club record is 13 games, set during the 2012 season.  “It was a really long stretch and the struggle, the adversity, the red cards; all those things have been frustrating. Since they have not stopped working, the game rewarded them with three points before the break and gives us the momentum to go to Portland and fight,” said FCD head coach Oscar Pareja. “We’re trying to get people healthy to try to fight the second half of the season with a complete roster. That would be great.”  Fabian Castillo scored his fourth goal of the season, and has two goals and an assist over his last five games.  “Fabian creates a lot of options. We have to be patient with a player that is young, but has a lot of potential. There was an improvement in his finishing; he created the play, he took the people on and the finishing was fantastic,” said Pareja.  Making his first start for the club (after five appearances off the substitutes’ bench), Andres Escobar was credited with his first MLS goal, after the Jair Benitez free kick deflected off him into the net.  “I’m very happy for Andres. He’s been working hard to come back from being injured. He worked very hard in the game. I’m not only happy for him because of the goal but he worked very hard throughout the game to get the win,” said Castillo.  Jair Benitez was credited with his third assist in the last five matches, returning to the starting lineup after coming off the substitutes’ bench in each of the last two games.  Raúl Fernández was credited with his first victory between the posts this season, in his sixth start. FCD was 04-1 in his first five starts, his last the 2-1 loss to the LA Galaxy on May 21.  The FCD back four underwent a makeover on either side of halftime. Walker Zimmerman came off just before halftime and Matt Hedges came off during the break. Zach Loyd shifted inside to play in central defense while Je-Vaughn Watson came on for Hedges.  “[Matt Hedges] was tired – his hamstring was bothering him very early in the game. We’ve been playing six games with 10 players, which, though we sometimes don’t think about that part, will create a lot of extra miles for a player. There has to be consistency in the lineup and under those circumstances I just wanted to put someone in that was 100 percent,” said Pareja.  Said Loyd: “[Stephen] Keel and I sat here at halftime and talked about what we wanted to do. I got to talk to Oscar [Pareja] a little bit about what he wanted out of me. So to have that good 10-15 minutes to discuss what we wanted to do going forward definitely helped, instead of having to make that change on the fly.”

NO PLACE LIKE HOME LAST MATCH RECAP The Timbers battled back from an early deficit by scoring three unanswered goals to record a 3-1 win over Real Salt Lake on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,481 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah. The win marked Portland’s third consecutive road victory and the team’s first win at Rio Tinto Stadium. After going down a goal in the 23rd minute, forward Fanendo Adi helped the Timbers overcome the early deficit with a first-half brace, scoring goals in the 36th and 45th minutes. Already down a goal, Real Salt Lake, which entered the match with a 3-0-3 record at home this season, was reduced to 10 men in the 54th minute following a second yellow card to defender Tony Beltran after a reckless tackle on midfielder/forward Darlington Nagbe. Controlling the majority of possession in the second half, the Timbers increased their lead in the 73rd minute, with Will Johnson delivering a penalty kick inside the left post.

Providence Park opened on April 14, 2011, in front of a sold-out crowd in the Timbers first-ever home match as an MLS team. The club proceeded to sell out 51 consecutive regular-season home games in the team’s first three MLS seasons. Last year, the club earned an 11-1-5 overall regular-season home record in 17 games, which was the best home record in MLS. The Timbers compiled an MLS-club record 22-game unbeaten streak at Providence Park from April 6, 2013 to June 1, 2014.

HEAD COACH CALEB PORTER Head coach Caleb Porter guided the Portland Timbers on a record-setting, turnaround season in 2013, his first season in MLS and as the club’s head coach. He was announced as the Timbers head coach on Aug. 29, 2012, and joined the club ahead of the 2013 MLS campaign. Porter received the Slats Gill Award for Sportsperson of the Year at the Oregon Sports Awards on March 9, 2014, becoming the fourth soccer-related figure to receive the award since it was founded in 1957. Porter was named the 2013 MLS Coach of the Year after leading Portland to a 14-5-15 (57pts) record, finishing the regular season in first place in the Western Conference and with the third-best record in the league – just two points shy of MLS Supporters’ Shield-winners New York Red Bulls. In 2013, the Timbers set new single-season club marks in points, wins, goals (54), goal differential (+21), shutouts (15) and fewest goals allowed (33). Under Porter, the Timbers assembled one of the biggest turnaround seasons in MLS history in 2013. In comparison to Portland’s 2012 totals, the Timbers assembled a 23-point improvement in points and an MLS-record 43-goal improvement in goal differential. Portland’s five losses during the 2013 regular season are tied for the fewest in MLS history in a 34-game season. In 2013, the Timbers ranked third in MLS in goals scored and conceded the second-fewest goals at 33, giving the club a league-best, plus21 goal differential. The club also led the league with 15 shutouts, tied for third-most in a single season in MLS history. During the regular season, the Timbers assembled one of the longest unbeaten streaks in MLS history at 15 games. The Timbers recorded a 15-game, home unbeaten streak during the 2013 regular season, posting a league-best 11-1-5 home record at Providence Park. The club also set an MLS single-season record with 11 home shutouts. Among Porter’s achievements during the 2013 season, the club’s 57 points accrued are the most earned by a first-year head coach in MLS since the league’s inaugural season in 1996. Porter’s winning percentage (.632) in 2013 ranked among the best in league history for first-year MLS head coaches, and the Timbers’ 15-game unbeaten streak is the longest by an MLS head coach in his first full season at the helm. Under Porter in 2013, Portland qualified for the MLS Cup Playoffs for the first time since joining the league in 2011. By defeating rival Seattle Sounders FC in the Western Conference Semifinal, the Timbers became just the fifth club in MLS history to reach the conference championship in their MLS Cup Playoff debut, and the first since Real Salt Lake in 2008. Additionally, the Timbers made their deepest run in club history in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2013 under Porter’s guidance, reaching the semifinals of the tournament. Prior to joining the Timbers, Porter was one of the most successful coaches in NCAA history during his tenure as head coach at the University of Akron from 2006-12. He compiled a career mark of 123-18-17 at Akron and owned the highest winning percentage (.832) among all active Division I coaches. Porter garnered numerous honors while at Akron, including 2009 NSCAA National Coach of the Year. From Kalamazoo, Mich., Porter led the Zips to back-to-back NCAA College Cup appearances in 2009 and 2010, and the school’s first national title in any sport in 2010. In all, he guided Akron to seven Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular-season championships, five MAC tournament titles and five consecutive trips to the NCAA tournament’s Round of 16 (2008-12). Porter set multiple NCAA records while at Akron, including a 48-match, home unbeaten streak (44-0-4) from 2008-11 and a 47-match unbeaten streak (44-0-3) in conference play from 2006-12. Porter’s coaching career also includes time as the head coach of the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team during 2012 CONCACAF Olympic qualifying and he spent three years as an assistant coach on the U.S. U-18 National Team from 2009-11. Prior to joining Akron, Porter was an assistant coach for six years (2000-05) at Indiana University. As a player, Porter was the 27th overall pick by the San Jose Clash in the 1998 MLS College Draft. He spent time with San Jose and the Tampa Bay Mutiny before a knee injury ended his professional playing career in 2000. Porter also played for the U.S. National B Team from 1996-97, winning a bronze medal at the 1997 World University Games. He had a successful collegiate playing career at Indiana, where he was a three-year captain and a three-time All-Big Ten honoree. Porter led the Hoosiers to four conference titles, and four NCAA tournament appearances. As a senior, Porter captained IU to 23 consecutive wins before losing to eventual national champion UCLA in the national semifinals and was the runner-up for the 1997 Hermann Trophy.

FC DALLAS AT PORTLAND TIMBERS WEDNESDAY, JUNE 11, 2014 ALL-TIME SERIES NOTES Wednesday’s match marks the 10th regular-season meeting all-time between Portland and FC Dallas and the fifth time the Timbers play host to FC Dallas at Providence Park. The Timbers are undefeated (3-0-1) against FC Dallas at home, including two wins in 2013. Earlier this season, Portland traveled to Frisco, Texas, and conceded the game-winning goal to FC Dallas midfielder Mauro Diaz in the 84th minute of a 2-1 loss at Toyota Stadium. Since 2011, the Timbers have registered a 3-3-3 overall record against FC Dallas. The Timbers last hosted FC Dallas at Providence Park on Aug. 17, 2013, as Portland earned a 2-1 win. The two sides combined for all three goals in a sevenminute span in the first half as Darlington Nagbe registered the game-winning goal in the 33rd minute off an assist from Diego Valeri. Valeri finished the match with two assists. Portland has won consecutive matches against FC Dallas at home, also turning in a 1-0 win on June 15, 2013.

LAST TIME VS. FC DALLAS The Timbers battled back from a halftime deficit to level the match in the second half, but an 84th-minute, game-winning goal from Mauro Diaz lifted FC Dallas to a 2-1 victory at Toyota Stadium on March 29. Both sides played a majority of the match with 10 players due to first-half red cards. Even at 1-1 into the late stages of the match, Diaz put away the decisive goal six minutes from time to help FC Dallas to the win. On the road, the Timbers controlled the game over the opening 30 minutes of the match, and the backline did not allow FC Dallas a shot opportunity until the 27th minute. Before the first half came to a close, referee Sorin Stoica issued straight red cards to Portland’s Michael Harrington and FC Dallas’ Je-Vaughn Watson near the 40th minute for a play off the ball, forcing the two clubs to finish out the match a player short. The 2014-15 edition of the competition marks Portland’s first-ever berth in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament. Portland qualified for the tournament by virtue of finishing with the best overall record from the conference opposite the MLS Supporters’ Shield winner in 2013. Along with Portland, MLS Cup-champion Sporting Kansas City, U.S. Open Cup-champion D.C. United and Supporters’ Shield-winner New York Red Bulls represent the four U.S.-based MLS clubs in the competition.

FC DALLAS INJURY REPORT OUT: Kellyn Acosta (D) – patella avulsion fracture; Mauro Diaz (M) right knee surgery; George John (D) right knee; Hendry Thomas (M) muscle tear. QUESTIONABLE: Michel (M) R hamstring strain. RUN OF PLAY GOALS FC Dallas began the season with the pinpoint accuracy of Michel and Mauro Diaz on set pieces. The superior service helped set pieces account for eight of Dallas’ first 12 goals. Without the duo (both were lost to injury during the month of May), FC Dallas has started to rely on goals from the run of play. Five of the team’s last six goals have come during the run of play. SUPERIOR SERVICE Michel was involved in 12 set‐piece goals for FC Dallas in 2013. The Brazilian has five goals and two assists this year. He has been involved in 10 of Dallas’ 26 goals this season. Mauro Diaz has also played a part in 10 of Dallas’ goals. Either Michel or Diaz has played a part in 77 percent of FC Dallas’ goals this season. The team has 12 goals during the run of play. The other 14 goals have come off set pieces, including four PKs and two corner kicks. ONE‐GOAL LOSSES FC Dallas already has as many one‐goal losses (6) as it had all of last season. Four of those six losses were by a margin of 2‐1. In the past 18 MLS seasons, FC Dallas’ average for one‐goal losses in a season is 5.6. The record for one‐ goal losses in a year is 12, which occurred during the 1997 season. In MLS history, the New England Revolution has beaten FC Dallas by one goal a record 12 times while the Columbus Crew has beaten FC Dallas by a 2‐1 score a record nine times. BENITEZ MATCHES CAREER HIGH IN ASSISTS Now 35 years old and the oldest player on the FC Dallas roster, Jair Benitez eclipsed his MLS career high for assists in a season (4) when sent a left‐ footed serve into the box that caught the back of fellow Colombian Andres Escobar and ended up in the back of the net on June 7 against Colorado. With the addition of another Colombian, head coach Oscar Pareja, Benitez has assisted on three of Dallas’ last four goals to quietly take over the team led from injured Mauro Diaz. BENITEZ, IN MILESTONES Benitez assisted on three goals for FCD during the 2011 season (in 25 appearances). He needed only 11 appearances to reach his career high this season. On April 19, 2014, Benitez (now 143) surpassed Mark Santel (133) for eighth all‐time in appearances for FC Dallas. He is now closing in on Chad Deering (147) for seventh on that list. Benitez (133) also took over the sixth position from Chad Deering (132) in his last start for FC Dallas. COLOMBIAN CONNECTION In his first start of the season and his MLS career, Andres Escobar scored for rd FC Dallas versus Colorado in the 33 minute on June 7. Including head coach Oscar Pareja, four Colombians (Escobar, Benitez and Castillo) contributed to the win for FC Dallas. Of the 20 players with Colombian roots in MLS, FC Dallas (3) Portland (3) and New York (3) have the most. Of those three teams, FC Dallas (2698) greatly outdistances New York (1080) and Portland (1148) for minutes played by Colombian players this season. MINUTES PLAYED IN 2014 As of June 10, Matt Hedges (1395) and Fabian Castillo (1357 MP) ranked sixth

and seventh for minutes played in MLS so far this season. CASTILLO’S SHOTS Even though midfielder Fabian Castillo has patrolled the flanks for FC Dallas in 96 matches since 2011, the Colombian speedster is still only 21 years old (turns 22 on June 17). His career high for shots in a season is 45 (in 2013). Castillo’s average this season has been 2.56 per match (41 in 16 games). Castillo ranks ninth in MLS. He is tied with Vancouver’s Pedro Morales. YOUTHFULL BACKLINE FC Dallas started its youngest back four of the season versus RSL on May 24. The grouping of Moises Hernandez (22), Matt Hedges (24), Walker Zimmerman (21) and Zach Loyd (26) allowed only one shot on goal. With an average age of 23.25, the group was the youngest this season by 1.25 years. Through 16 games, FC Dallas has allowed an average of 4.65 shots on goal per game this season. SHUTOUT HISTORY th FCD goalkeeper Chris Seitz’s shutout on May 24 came in FC Dallas’ 14 match of the season. Twice in FC Dallas history, the club earned its first clean sheet of the season 13 matches into a campaign. In 2002, a Dallas team captained by current head coach Oscar Pareja earned a shutout against Columbus on June 29. In 2007, FC Dallas picked up a 1‐0 victory against RSL in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 14. This season, Salt Lake City was once again the key but this time around RSL was amongst MLS’ best with a 6‐0‐6 record rather than bringing up the rear with a 0‐4‐6 record as it was in 2007. HOMEGROWN DEPTH FC Dallas Homegrown players have accumulated 1,604 minutes so far this season (23GP, 19GS). Danny Garcia, the ninth FC Dallas Homegrown player to see time with the first team, has logged 282 minutes in central midfield. Moises Hernandez (246 MP) and Victor Ulloa (664 MP) have also seen increased minutes recently, while Kellyn Acosta (282 MP) is recovering from an injury suffered in training. Team Homegrown minutes played in 2014 Colorado 1944 FC Dallas 1694 New England 1517 Columbus 1399 TESHO’S DEBUT, FIRST START, FIRST GOAL & FIRST ROUND COMPETITION FC Dallas’ first overall selection in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, Tesho Akindele made his MLS debut against Seattle on April 12. The 6‐1 Canadian‐born forward started the first game of his career against San Jose on May 10. th Against the LA Galaxy, Akindele netted his first goal in the 65 minute of a 2‐ 1 loss on May 21. Of players taken in the first round this season, Akindele ranks fourth in minutes played (452) and is one of only two players (along with New England’s Patrick Mullins, 4G) to have scored a goal. INJURIES AND SUSPENSIONS As of June 10, FC Dallas players have missed 79 games due to injury. Another six games have been lost due to suspensions. Six players have been ejected through the first 15 matches this season. The club record for red cards in a season is seven, which occurred during the 2008 season.

FORMATIONS FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja has only started the same group in back‐ to‐back games twice this season (4/12 & 5/31). Once this season (5/4), Pareja was forced to make five changes to the lineup (the most so far this season). He deployed a 4‐2‐3‐1 formation in the first nine games of the season (5‐3‐1 record). In the last seven matches, Pareja has gone with a 4‐4‐2 formation five times (1‐2‐2 record) and the 4‐2‐3‐1 twice (0‐2‐0). Matt Hedges (16), Zach Loyd (9), Victor Ulloa (6) and Fabian Castillo (6) have started consecutive matches (minimum of five games in a row). GOALSCORERS FC Dallas ranks second in MLS with 10 different goal scorers to date this season. Philadelphia ranks first with 11 while Vancouver, Kansas City and Colorado each have nine. EJECTIONS In the last five seasons combined, MLS teams have averaged 18.625 red cards. The LA Galaxy have been ejected the least (8) while the New England Revolution have been tossed the most (26). FC Dallas ranks second with 24. Through June 10, MLS teams have seen red cards an average of 2.36 times in 2014. Last season, the average was 4.15 (for the full season). IRONMAN Since making his professional debut against New England on April 5, 2012, center back Matt Hedges has started 71 and appeared in 77 of the club’s 79 nd matches. Hedges appeared in his 52 consecutive game for Dallas on 9/14/13 to surpass Ted Eck’s run of 51 games from 4/5/98 through 7/31/99. Hedges streak ended on 10/5/13 when Stephen Keel took over for Hedges to end the UNC’s product run at 54 consecutive appearances. INTO THE WEST Six of Dallas’ first nine matches were against Eastern Conference opponents. FC Dallas is now in the midst of an eight‐game stretch against Western Conference opponents that runs until the 2014 FIFA World Cup break. Dallas’ next match against an opponent from the East is on June 28 in Columbus against the Crew. 23 PLAYERS THROUGH 11 MATCHES Under Oscar Pareja, FC Dallas has started 22 of its 30 players. Last season, a total of 23 players started matches for FC Dallas. A franchise‐record, 30 different players started a match for FC Dallas during the 2009 season. One year later, FC Dallas equaled a franchise‐low of 20 players (2001, 2004 and 2010). The club average for starters in a season is 22. UNDERAGE Seven of FC Dallas’ 21 starters this season are 22‐years‐old or younger, nine are 23 or younger and 10 are 24 or younger. ZIMMERMAN SURPASSES MILESTONE FROM ROOKIE CAMPAIGN A consensus 2013 first‐round MLS SuperDraft selection, Walker Zimmerman fell to FC Dallas, which had the number seven pick in the 2013 draft. The center back made his first appearance, on May 11, 2013. He started and played his first full match of his career versus San Jose on May 25, 2013, helping FC Dallas earn a shutout against former MLS Golden Boot Winner, Chris Wondolowski. Zimmerman finished the 2013 season with four starts and two goals in 411 minutes of action. He is on a similar path this season, having missed the first four games of the season due to injury. Zimmerman started six of FCD’s last eight games. He (currently at 494MP) surpassed his total minutes played from last season against San Jose on May 31. Ironically, it was the fourth time Zimmerman played against San Jose. Besides the Earthquakes, the only other MLS club Zimmerman has faced more than once is Seattle. He now has 13 career MLS appearances. SHOTS ON GOAL FC Dallas’ most consistent stretch of shots on goal came in a three‐game set from April 5 to April 19. During matches against Houston (4), Seattle (7) and Toronto (5), FC Dallas averaged 5.3 shots on goal per game. Injuries and suspensions clearly defined the club’s worst three‐game stretch between April 26 and May 7, a period in which FC Dallas managed only 2.6 shots on goal. But FC Dallas rebounded quickly, recording five shots on goal per game in matches against San Jose (5), Chivas USA (5) and LA (5). Despite playing down a man on May 31, FC Dallas equaled its season‐high (7) for shots on goal in a single match.

TWO ASSISTS FOR HOLLINGSHEAD Taken in the second round of the 2013 MLS SuperDraft, UCLA product Ryan Hollingshead opted to leave the game of soccer for a season to assist his brother in building a church in Sacramento, Calif. The 23‐year‐old rookie returned to soccer this preseason and earned his first professional nd appearance last match when he came on in the 72 minute for Je‐Vaughn Watson at right mid. ONE OF THE DALLAS’ BEST: BLAS PEREZ It took forward Blas Perez 59 appearances (51 starts) with FC Dallas to tie David Ferreira, Eddie Johnson and Dante Washington for seventh all‐time in goals scored for the club. Perez needs one more to catch Jorge Rodriguez (25) for sixth and six more to surpass Ariel Graziani’s total of 30 for fifth all‐ time in FCD history. MAURO’S MARCH FC Dallas playmaker Mauro Díaz picked up 63% of the vote to walk away with the Etihad Airways Player of the Month award for March. In four matches, he was the catalyst for the league's top offense, notching two goals and an assist in FCD's unbeaten start to the campaign. He improved his numbers to two goals and three assists in five games following Dallas’ 4‐1 win versus Houston on April 5. He scored against D.C. United on April 26 to bring his totals to three goals and three assists in eight games. FC DALLAS ENTERS U.S. OPEN CUP TOURNAMENT ON JUNE 17 FC Dallas will meet North American Soccer League side, San Antonio Scorpions in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tournament at Toyota Stadium on Tuesday, June 17. San Antonio advanced to the tournament’s fourth round by defeating the United States Adult Soccer Association’s North Texas Rayados, 4‐2, at Toyota Field in San Antonio, Texas, on Wednesday, May 28. RESERVES OPEN 2014 SEASON WITH THREE STRAIGHT SHUTOUT WINS The FC Dallas Reserves improved to 3‐0‐0 on Tuesday, April 15 with a 1‐0 victory against USL PRO’s OKC Energy FC. Andrew Jacobson, who is returning from an injury suffered in a 3‐1 win against Chivas USA on March 22, scored rd the game‐winner in the 53 minute.
