DINING HOT

POT

COCKTAIL OF THE MONTH: CREATED BY BYBLOS TO CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF ITS NEW WINTER COCKTAIL MENU, BYBLOS HAS DECIDED TO SHARE THE RECIPE TO ONE OF ITS MOST POPULAR CONCOCTIONS...THE VIOLET MARTINI.

TURN UP THE HEAT AT SONO

Nothing spells winter more than a ‘hot pot’ and Sono Japanese Restaurant has plenty to choose from. Traditionally a shared eating experience, hot pots are as old as Japan itself and have the incredible ability to warm you from the inside. The ingredients are initially prepared by experienced Sono chefs in the kitchen, then cooked by guests at the table for the ultimate in freshness. If you’re a meat-eater, go for the Wagyu Sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu. If seafood is more your thing, opt for the Kani Tonyu Nabe.

BIG BURGER THAT’S BIG ON FLAVOUR Introducing the Torta Burger - a crispy bread roll with Achiote chicken, pulled pork or slow-cooked beef topped with the Burrito Bar’s signature refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, mexislaw and chipotle mayo served with a side of Mexican fries. Does it get any better than that?

LUNCH FOR A TENNER Warm up this winter with an authentic Indian curry from Aamaya and save your pennies too with lunch time curries just $10 (seafood an extra $3) including free WIFI when one curry is purchased per person.

HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR TEA?

Deer Sir is offering a range of boutique, loose leaf teas to comfort you this winter. With 12 blends to choose from you’ll have a hard time deciding which delicate combination to try. If you’re looking for something to keep the common

SPECIAL BREED MAKES FOR SPECIAL DISHES Gianni Greghini, owner of Gusto da Gianni and Belvedere Bar & Grill, has been raising his own rare breed of Italian cattle on a farm west of Brisbane. The beef is now appearing in dishes at Gusto da Gianni as they roll out a series of special winter meals including tagliata with crushed potatoes and salsa verde - which uses thinly sliced brisket; and osso bucco on truffle mash with red wine reduction - which uses the cross cut of the veal shank. Come in and try this fantastic beef exclusive to Gusto da Gianni, Gianni’s Kitchen and Belvedere.

OF THE MONTH VIOLET MARTINI by Byblos INGREDIENTS 15ml lemon juice 30ml cranberry juice 15ml violette liqueur 30ml Finlandia cranberry vodka 30ml banana rhubarb puree Shake all ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnished with a pinch of dried rose petals.

cold at bay, you might like to go for the ‘detox and cleanse’ herbal blend with calendula flowers, red clover, nettle, ginger, spearmint, dandelion root, lemongrass, hibiscus and elderflower. If it’s relaxation you’re after, ‘inner calm’ will soothe your soul with ingredients including rosehip, ginger root, grated cocoa, cinnamon and chamomile.

THREE BEDDERS SELL OUT AT PINNACLE

ALL THREE BEDROOM APARTMENTS ARE NOW SOLD AT THE LATEST RESIDENTIAL STAGE OF PINNACLE AT PORTSIDE WHARF. PINNACLE’S 25 THREE BEDROOM APARTMENTS SOLD FOR BETWEEN $1,006,000 AND $1,395,000. The 15 level luxury apartment building has just one penthouse, six River Terraces and a mix of two bedroom apartments remaining, priced from $610,000. Brookfield Residential Properties General Manager Lee Butterworth said strong demand for the most spacious and luxurious apartments in Pinnacle signalled a turning point for the Brisbane apartment market. “In the past few years, the demand has been for smaller, entry level apartments across Brisbane, however with more than $40 million in three bedroom and penthouse sales in Pinnacle, it is clear the market has turned a corner,” he said. “Pinnacle was designed for buyers wanting larger, more luxurious apartments with quality fittings and finishes and our strong sales are proof we have delivered what buyers want. “We have sold 116 apartments in Pinnacle equating to over $94 million in sales, which reinforces the fact that there has been a resurgence in the upper end of the market.” Mr Butterworth said buyers in this new market were attracted to apartment living in action-packed areas with infrastructure, retail and dining. “Low maintenance living has become a focus for many market segments, particularly young professionals looking for a better work/life balance, and empty nesters in search of an easier lifestyle as they move from the family home,” he said. “Mixed-use developments in easy reach of the CBD have become popular with buyers who want everything at their fingertips

All three bedroom apartments are now sold at the latest residential stage of Pinnacle at Portside Wharf.

without the hassle of city living fraught with traffic jams and parking problems. “Precincts such as Portside Wharf provide the perfect compromise, offering city conveniences without the hustle and bustle.” With construction on Pinnacle now complete, Mr Butterworth said the sell-out of the three bedders meant opportunities to live in Portside Wharf’s premier apartment building were fast diminishing. “With Pinnacle now 70 per cent sold, buyers will need to act quickly to secure their choice of vistas and floor plans,” Mr Butterworth said. “The absolute riverfront building is finished to the highest standards with stone benchtops, Miele appliances, wool carpets and floor to ceiling windows. “It is the jewel in the crown at Portside Wharf and will become one of Brisbane’s iconic riverfront buildings.” Pinnacle comprises 162 luxury apartments with a rooftop infinity pool, barbeque and entertainment area, gymnasium, secure car parking and onsite security. Portside Wharf is six kilometres from the CBD, 15 minutes from the Brisbane Airport and within easy reach of major roads and transport including the CityCat. The riverside precinct has enjoyed almost $510 million in sales and is home to six residential buildings and more than 35 retailers including fine dining, cafes, eateries, boutique shopping, health and beauty, an IGA supermarket and Dendy Cinema.
