GUSTO DA GIANNI Gusto da Gianni is offering an authentic three-course Italian set menu, plus bread for $99.00. With three divine entree options, including San Daniele prosciutto, Amore raviolone and parmigaina di melanzane, the evening is bound to begin well, plus three fortunate Valentines will walk away with a lovely Schlumberger beauty case as part of a lucky draw.

CRUISERS CAFE For a relaxed evening, with fresh air and beautiful food, treat your loved one to a three course dinner at Cruisers Cafe, Bar and Grill for $65.00, which includes a glass of French bubbles or a beer on arrival.

RESTAURANT MANX Restaurant Manx will showcase their finest foods through a five course degustation dinner complete with matching wines and a long stem red rose for each table reservation for $135.00 per person. Alternatively, you can order from the a la carte menu and enjoy a three course meal with half a dozen oysters and a glass of sparkling wine on arrival for $95.00.

BELVEDERE Belvedere Bar and Grill has a special menu featuring a mix of seafood and quality meats including carpaccio of yellow fin tuna with smoked oysters, ballantine of quail, eye fillet and a delicious Atlantic salmon dish. You can then stare lovingly into each others eyes - or fight over the last mouthful of Valrhona chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet with crystalised rose petals, all for $99.00 per person.

SONO Sono has designed a spectacular set menu for Valentine’s Day for $135.00 per person, or for dinner and a show, the teppanyaki menu is available for $115.00 per person, both of which include a beverage on arrival. For a more lavish, romantic evening perfect if you have something special planned - you can rent out the private Tatami rooms, with a minimum spend of $400.00.

METHOD

15mL Massenex Violet

45mL banana and rhubarb puree

Pour the lemon juice and sugar syrup into a rocks glass. Fill half the glass with crushed ice and pour gin over ice, stir to mix. Top up glass with ice and bleed Chambord over the top. Garnish with three raspberries on a toothpick.

GUSTO’S PIZZA MAKES THE ‘BEST OF’ LIST When Brisbane Threads did an article on the best Italian pizzas in Brisbane, they just couldn’t go past our very own Gusto da Gianni. With only seven restaurants honoured on the list, Gusto da Gianni was put in the same category as famous Italian restaurants the likes of Popolo and Beccofino. The journo’s tip for eating pizza at Gusto - “...book an early dinner, watching the sun set over the river while enjoying a Prosecco with friends - it’s just the ultimate!”

SONO’S NEW SHIKI TEPPANYAKI LUNCH Sono has introduced a new lunchtime special available Thursdays and Fridays. The Shiki Teppanyaki lunch is just $30 and includes appetiser, salad, miso soup, fried rice, teppan vegetables, choice of main course and ice-cream to finish!

If you fancy spoiling your lover with a special treat this Valentine’s Day, why not give these tasty little morsels a try - straight from the cook book at Cruisers Cafe, Bar and Grill.

INGREDIENTS 360g milk chocolate chopped

1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts – finely chopped

1/3 cup thickened cream

Packet of milk chocolate melts around 375g

2 tablespoon of Frangelico

METHOD Boil a saucepan filled halfway up with water. *** Place chocolate, cream and Frangelico in a heatproof bowl over the saucepan - ensure that the bowl does not touch the boiling water - and stir and melt the chocolate. *** Put the chocolate bowl into the fridge and chill for 2 hours. *** Line a baking tray with baking paper and roll one tsp of the mixture into a ball. Roll ball in hazelnuts, place on the tray and repeat until all the mixture is used up - then put into the fridge and chill for an hour. *** Whilst the balls are chilling, place the chocolate melts into a heatproof bowl like you did with the first mixture and melt the chocolate down. *** Get the balls out of the fridge and one by one dip them into the chocolate you just melted using two forks to coat the truffle and put onto the baking tray and repeat until all the truffles are coated. Put back into the fridge for 30 mins and voila - delicious!

A limited number of exclusive terrace homes have been released at the latest residential stage of Hamilton’s mixed-use riverfront precinct, Portside Wharf. The 14 two storey River Terraces will occupy absolute river frontage with many of them enjoying a private entrance and direct access from the wharf and river walk.

Mr Butterworth said each home had a unique layout but all are designed with the living areas, including a powder room, on the ground floor and bedrooms upstairs for privacy.

Spread over the first two levels of the luxury 16 storey apartment building, Pinnacle, which has already reached $56 million in sales before construction begins this year, the Sohostyle homes will consist of two bedrooms, two bathrooms and two dedicated car spaces in the secure car park.

He said the River Terraces not only boasted a prime position within Portside Wharf, they are also ideally located within Brisbane.

Portside Wharf Project Director Lee Butterworth said opportunities to secure such a rare address are strictly limited.

“Portside Wharf is just ten minutes from the CBD, 15 minutes from the domestic and international airports and within easy access to the Gateway Motorway,” he said.

“It will be a case of ‘first in best dressed’ as these unique homes will not last,” he said.

“The precinct sits between key economic areas and is easily connected to the rest of the city by public transport including the City Cat.”

“There is very limited new terrace home stock available in Brisbane, particularly with a riverfront location, and with only 12 remaining, these homes really are hot property.”

The River Terraces start from $795,000 and range in size from 92sqm to 183sqm.

Portside Wharf is the first stage of the Northshore Hamilton urban renewal project that will eventually become home to more than 10,000 residents.
