NEW WINTER START TIME FOR FREE YOGA ON THE WHARF

‘MONTY PYTHON LIVE (MOSTLY)’ THE REUNION SPECIAL

The response to our planned reunion has been very, very silly. But, we’re all touched that so many fans still want to see such old people perform.

With a new start time of 9am to help yoga goers ease into the winter mornings, complimentary yoga on the wharf continues to attract a large number of followers keen to catch some sun while enjoying a bit of light exercise. Thanks to Jetts Hamilton, the class runs for one hour and is designed to suit all fitness levels and ages. Bring your own mat and some pocket change if you’d like to stick around for a coffee afterwards.

RECIPE ONTH OF THE M TE STICKY DA PUDDING

STICKY DATE PUDDING BY CRUISERS CAFE BAR & GRILL MAKES 12 INDIVIDUAL PUDDINGS

INGREDIENTS

BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE

250g dates

100g butter - at room temperature

1tsp bicarb soda

250g brown sugar

250g butter

300ml boiling water

3 eggs

250g cream

2tsp vanilla essence

275g self-raising flour

400g brown sugar

Roughly chop dates and remove any pits. Add bicarb and boiling water then leave to cool for at least three hours, stirring occasionally. When cool, stir in vanilla - this must be done several hours in advance. Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius. Use a 12-cup individual cake tray with removable bases or a muffin tin. Spray tins generously with oil. Cream butter and sugar in mixer until pale and fluffy. Add eggs one at a

time, beating well between each one. Sift flour and mix in gently. Add dates and fold through. Spoon approximately 100g in each tin and bake for nine minutes, rotate tray and bake for another nine minutes. For the butterscotch sauce melt butter over a low flame. Stir in cream and sugar, turn flame to high and bring to the boil. Reduce flame and simmer for five minutes while stirring.

Serve hot with vanilla ice cream Note: puddings and sauce can be refrigerated for one week so we suggest using some for a dinner party and saving some for yourself!
