NEW SEATING AREA A new outdoor entertainment area has opened on the wharf with scattered seating, providing a perfect place to munch on take away from any one of the restaurants across the wharf. FITNESS ON THE WHARF Fitness on the Wharf has kicked-off with classes running every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6am - 6.30am. Held along the docks thanks to Jetts Fitness and Mac’s Strength and Conditioning, the first class is free, then it’s $50 for a pack of 10 or $10 for a casual class. Bookings are essential. LIVE MUSIC MOTHER’S DAY Spoil Mum this Mother’s Day with lunch at one of the popular restaurants at Portside, and soak up the sunshine and live music on the wharf from 12pm.
FREE PILATES ON THE WHARF Studio Pilates International Hamilton will hold the final two free outdoor Pilates classes on the wharf for this term, finishing up on 17 May. There will be no class on Mother’s Day as the Studio Pilates team is participating in the Mother’s Day Classic - go team,
go! The outdoor classes are held on the new grassed area of the wharf and cater to all age groups, fitness levels, males and females. BYO mat and head down for a fantastic workout in an unintimidating environment.

I have vague recollections of Mum reclining in as regal a manner as was possible on 1990s furniture watching her “stories” each night while Dad and I would slave away in the ‘Cooking Mines.’
At 15 years old my Dad told me that I should be a chef because “people will always need to be fed.” I laughed at him because the extent of my cooking knowledge was Home Economics at school, certainly not at home with Mum. In my early 20’s I told Mum that I wanted to be a chef and she literally dropped the phone laughing at me, yet here I am 15 years later, loving cheffing.
