une’s issue of Posh Kids Magazine was another huge success and we are happily overwhelmed with the huge increase of Posh Kids readers and followers! Posh Kids Magazine is expanding each and every issue and we are so pleased with how it is being received so excitedly by you all. Our last issue had two fabulous covers with the incredible stars Ella Anderson and Ashley Gerasimovich, which was done by the incredible photographer, Michael Creagh. Ella had a beautiful shoot with some adorable furry friends from Animal Haven Shelter of NYC and we were so amazed at how well her cover and feature came out (we were also overjoyed with raising awareness of shelter animals of whom are in need of a new home and love). Ashley shot such a fun, light, and airy shoot; they had such a fantastic time capturing the exceptional images for her feature. Posh Kids Magazine thoroughly enjoyed meeting with these wonderful rising stars and learning so much more about them through their interviews. We are very impressed about this issue with our cover shoot with the bubbly Disney Channel star Jenna Ortega (who in her 13 years of life has come so far). We have learned so much about her and her career as a young Latina actress, starting with her new role in theatre playing a bratty teenager named Emily who is separated from her parents in NYC. She went on to tell us how she would love the opportunity to work alongside Denzel Washington, as she has admired him for many years. We were also able to talk with Jenna’s mother, who revealed that Jenna was 1 of her 6 children, and that she finds it very surreal seeing so many kids looking up to Jenna. It was such a pleasure in having them on set and really getting
to know them- Jenna was so humble and full of life. Another rising star that we were fortunate to meet was Maxwell James, who plays Adam Warren from the hit series “The Family”, and having him join us on set for some fun and games. His shoot was highly entertaining- we had him doing all sorts of moves to capture him in his best light. Everyone, including Maxwell, thoroughly enjoyed it on set that day. Planning a vacation? This issue we help to plan the ultimate family getaway and give you some great kid-inspired summer looks to bring along. Join us at the famous Coney Island in Brooklyn to see the joy of summer, while our featured editorial pro·to·type shows us an example of a family that’s all about luxury. The shoot takes place in the luxurious Jewel Suite at The Towers of Lotte New York Palace, shot by New York Fashion photographer Maximo Hamilton. An issue packed full of amazing editorials for your viewing pleasures is waiting just a read away! We hope you thoroughly enjoy this issue; we really aimed to make every issue better than the last and to bring you the latest in fashion, travel, and celebrity highlights for you and your Posh Kids and Family. We are ecstatic with the direction the magazine is going and all of the exciting upcoming events for Posh Kids Magazine. Enjoy,
Cat Lamerique

MY CURRENT BEAUTY FAVES + BEAUTY TIPS FOR BUSY MOMS By: Maria Aldana of Earl Grey Style
A
s a first time mom, I had quickly learned that your everyday beauty routines are not quite the same anymore. You’re not getting as much sleep and the last thing on your to-do list is not typically beauty related, but as we all know self-care is important for our overall well-being and having an everyday skincare routine can leave you feeling refreshed in the morning yet relaxed before bedtime. I’ve recently started a simple beauty routine that I do everyday and will share a few quick tips to make you feel a little pampered on those extra busy days. Cleanse: Before I start and after I end my day, I always feel better after cleansing my face. I’m currently using a gentle moisturizing cleanser by Nourish Organics. It is rich in antioxidants while the cucumber helps to hydrate and soothe leaving your face feeling refreshed in the morning. Evening: On those days when you don’t have the time to cleanse, I’ll take a cotton pad and use a toner or micellar water to cleanse the day’s grime away. Moisturize: Depending on your skin type, I’ll normally apply my moisturizer while my skin is damp. I’m currently using Naturopathica’s Beech Tree & Ginseng Daily Moisturizer for my face in the morning and in the evening I like to moisturize with coconut oil drops. Extra pampering: Let’s say you have those days where you skip your whole beauty routine; there’s still one thing that you can do at the end of the day that will leave you feeling extra pampered. I like to moisturize my feet at the end of the day with ElskaBody’s Peppermint Foot Lotion.
Makeup: My everyday makeup routine is very simple. After cleansing and moisturizing, I’ll apply an all-over tinted moisturizer with SPF (sun protection factor) if I’m getting out of the house. I typically use just a light bronzer or blush for my cheeks while applying Root Pretty’s natural mascara. If I’m going out to meet friends or somewhere special, I like to change things up from the “everyday routine” and use eyeliner, shadow, and a lip color. I’ve recently started adding green & natural beauty products to my beauty routine and these are my current favorites:
ElskaBody: Peppermint Foot Lotion [elskabody.com] Root Pretty: Vegan Mascara and Shea Butter Lipstick [rootpretty.com] Marie Lynn Skincare: Everything Oil and Cocoa-Mint Lip [balmmarielynnskincare.com] Molly Muriel Apothecary: Tranquility Relaxing Kava Kava Blend Massage [oilmollymuriel.com] Naturopathica: Beech Tree and Ginseng Daily Moisturizer [naturopathica.com] Thayer’s: Lavender Witch Hazel Toner [thayers.com] Nourish Organics: Moisturizing Face Cleanser [nourishorganic.com] Acure: Brightening Facial Mask [acureorganics.com] Andalou Naturals [andalou.com] My Current Beauty Faves + Beauty Tips For Busy Moms By: Maria Aldana of Earl Grey Style www.earlgreystyle.com / Instagram: @earlgreystyle

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT
AISABOBO What is the inspiration behind Aisabobo? How did you get started? The inspiration behind Aisabobo comes from my passion and love for children and fashion. I feel there is a gap between adult’s fashion and children’s fashion; children can be more than just cute- they can be chic, elegant, classic, sharp and so many other things. Here at Aisabobo, we want to address children’s uniqueness and differences. What does the name AISABOBO mean and how did you come to the decision of naming the brand? Aisabobo (ī-să-bō-bō) is a gift for my future daughter, Aisa. The word “bobo” is the sound one makes when kissing on the cheek. At Aisabobo, we aspire to help our children express their unique personality and sense of style. Our slogan is “Be unique, be different.” Can you tell us what your favorite part about being a children’s designer is? Working with children and seeing how they interpret our designs in their own ways is my favorite part. Every child is unique and it’s quite fascinating to see their reactions and hear their feedback when they wear our designs. You will be surprised and amazed by their stories and opinions about our outfits. Children make us feel we are not only designing clothes, rather we are designing dreams, stories, and futures for them. Do you have a specific piece that you find yourself as the designer particularly special? I love all the pieces from each of our collections and they are like my children. Particularly, I have to talk about our Elizabeth dress from the AW16 Minuet Collection. Personally, I love clean cuts and simple designs and I believe “simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.” Elizabeth is the dress that shows the essence of Aisabobo’s design philosophy and yet it gives enough room for girls to move around and be comfortable in such an elegant dress. 22
POSH KIDS MAGAZINE / July 2016
What can we expect in the future from Aisabobo? Anything exciting in the works? At Aisabobo, we don’t want to be predictable; we want to always wow our customers with something new, different, refreshing, and unique. We just finished our SS17 designs, and I cannot say enough good things about this new collection. We will be releasing them at the Children’s Club Show in New York (July 31 - August 2) and the Children’s Club MAGIC Show in Las Vegas (August 15-17) to media and our retailers. Where can we find the designs- are you U.S. based or international? What stores are you currently in? We are based in Canada, but our US customers can find our designs in many US stores, namely Eloise at the Plaza in New York City, Pippen Lane in Louisiana and Girls’ World by Pink Tulip Club in Ohio. Customers can also purchase directly from our on-line store as we ship worldwide. Do you have plans to participate in the upcoming kids fashion week in NY? We are always interested in participating in the kids’ fashion week in NY and in the process of considering which one(s) to attend; there are so many great runway events such as Posh Kids and Petite Parade. Can you think of one time that really made you feel excited to be a part of such a fast-growing brand? Once a customer ordered a dress from a remote ski resort in France from us, I was astonished by how fast word travels and how this customer found out about Aisabobo. We never spent a lot of time and budget on marketing our products as we believe great design and a great product will speak for itself over time. What inspires you when sitting down to create the next seasons’ line? Do you have a creative process? Music plays a big part of my life as I started to play piano at age 5. I often find my inspirations from either listening to or playing music. Our AW16 collection - Minuet was inspired by Mozart’s Minuet in G major. To us, the creative process is a combination of art and science. Art: we start with determining the theme and color palettes; Science: then move on to construct the designs around the selected art elements; Art + Science: we finish with the final fabric/trim selection that will go best with each design. What sizes and ages do you cater to? We cater to ages 3 - 12. When we first started Aisabobo, our sizes ran from 3 to 7 years old. Since then, we’ve received many requests to expand our sizes, so we started offering sizes 3 - 12 from the AW16 collections. We also offer sizes 9 and 11, to provide the best fit for children at that age.

alking on set, I had expected to see a bubbly young Disney channel kid excited to get all dressed up. What I found was quite the opposite, not that she was not excited or happy, but Jenna Ortega held a certain maturity about her. She sat in the makeup chair, legs crossed and held perfectly still as the hair stylist made small talk. I greeted mom, Natalie first who smiled and returned my Thank You for being here. I turned and said Hello to Jenna and she immediately perked up with a big smile and said Hi. I asked how she liked New York so far and she replied “I love it! So excited to be here!”

POSH KIDS MAGAZINE / July 2016
We spoke a bit more before sending her off to wardrobe but I’ll leave all that good stuff for later. After dressing she came out ready to rock her shoot. The once quiet girl, who sat in the makeup chair seeming to be thinking over her next big move to take the industry by storm, completely came out of her shell surprising us all! We sat amazed that every pose and subtle change in stance gave the perfect shot. Fitting is my story to actual life as mom says “She is made for this”. She truly is! The whole team could tell she was more comfortable in front of the camera than anything else. The moment the camera laid lens on her was a match made in Posh heaven.

So you’re here in NY for some of the summer, Tell us a little about what your working on? In the New York Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes, I play a bratty teenager named Emily. When Emily and her younger brother get separated from their parents on the subway, Emily tries to act more grown up than she actually is. While searching for their parents, the kids find the Rockettes who help them discover the magic of New York City. Is theater much different for you, from acting on a TV show or movie? Yes! It is very different from filming. When you are filming you can mess up a line and try again. If you mess up a line in theater, the whole audience knows and you have to try to save the scene you messed up on LIVE! Do you still get excited when your agent calls and says “Jenna you got the gig?” Absolutely. Booking jobs in this business is rough, so any job is a celebration. No matter how small the role is! What has been your favorite project so far? My favorite project so far has been Stuck in the Middle. I have a really fun cast and we get along great. They make filming a blast, and I love seeing their faces everyday! That cast is my 2nd family. And what was your first role ever? My first role ever was a Co-Star role on the TV show “Rob!” starring Rob Schneider. I can imagine working on The Little Rascals was a blast, what was your favorite scene to work on? My favorite scene to work on when we were filming The Little Rascals was the cake baking scene. The crew was shaking the oven violently and the make-up team covered us in sticky pancake batter! You also voice the new Disney series Elena of Avalor, how does it feel to be the voice of the first Disney Latina princess? Voicing a Disney Latina princess is a dream come true. When I was younger, I could not see myself as a Disney princess because I could not help but notice that I did not look like any of them. I wanted to look like Cinderella so badly. When I was 4, I asked my mom if I could dye my hair blonde for my birthday so I could look like Cinderella! Now with Princess Elena of Avalor, little girls that look like me can see themselves as a Disney princess, and that is something that I am very proud of. Is there any one person that you’re so happy to have had the opportunity to work with? I am so happy to be able to say that I worked with Gina Rodriguez. She is super sweet, amazingly talented, and is such a great role model for young Latinas like myself. I wish her talent was as contagious as her incredible personality! How about an actor that you would like the opportunity to work with in the future? I would love to work with Denzel Washington in the future! I first saw him act when I was younger in “Man on Fire”, and since then I have been hooked! He is so talented and it would be an honor to work with him. And of course we can’t forget about Stuck in the Middle, what in that show relates to your actual life offscreen? Harley and I are both middle children in big families, we
both like math and science, and we both are Latinas. We also love our families very much and would do anything for them! So how does being involved in so many projects affect your school life, social life... do you still get to participate in everday kid stuff? I usually have the weekends off of work, so I spend that time playing soccer, hanging out with my family, and having sleepovers with my friends. I always make time for my family and friends, they are my number one supporters and I love them all very much! Is there anything you find particularly hard as a child actor? I think the hardest part about being a child actor is not having a say on what is going on onscreen all the time. A lot of the times we get critiqued for saying a line a certain way, but in reality, it was a producer or director that had us say it that way! We do not always agree with the way we are told to say a specific line, but it is the producer/director’s show, they are the bosses. And what type of projects do you see for yourself in the future? Anything you haven’t tried that you would like to try? I would love to act in big feature films, and I would love to become a writer/producer/director. I say this because I feel like I would have more control over what goes on onscreen and what the final product turns out like! How did it feel being on set with Posh Kids Magazine? Was it very different from the average photoshoot you’re use to? What was your favorite part about the experience of being the subject of a high fashion shoot? Did you have a favorite piece from the shoot that you got to wear? It was very different from any shoot I had done before. It was really fun and I got to wear some cool clothes that I am not used to wearing. The shoot had a cool vibe that I really liked. My favorite piece that I wore was the daisy bunny ears, they were really cute. I was feeling myself in them (giggles). Any favorite designers? I do not have any favorite designers yet, only because I just started getting into fashion recently. I am still deciding, there are so many good ones out there! Here’s a few more questions that we like to ask for our readers to get to know you a bit more, just say the first thing that comes to mind. - Sweet or salty? Sweet - Chocolate or Vanilla? Chocolate - Polka Dots or Stripes? Polka dots - Dogs or Cats? Dogs - Summer or Winter? Summer - Tom Boy or Girly Girl? Tomboy - Pizza or Tacos? Too hard to choose! Pizza AND tacos! - Pop music or rock and roll? Pop And one thing about you that fans might not know about you? I used to be a cheerleader for 2 years and I love to tumble with my younger sister, Aliyah!

When did you realize this was Jenna’s path? When Jenna was 6 years old, she started asking if she could try to act. She had previously told me that she wanted to be the first female president. She even wrote a letter to Obama and was really upset when he did not write back. I just thought it was another phase! After 2 years of begging, I realized that she was not going to give up on this, so I decided to let her try it out. Within the first few months she started booking national commercials and that is when I knew that this was her path. How is everyday life with a child who’s a star? My husband and I have managed to keep things pretty normal. It has only been in the last 8 months that Jenna had to stop going to public school. She’s a regular kid who hangs out with her family and friends when she is not working. She still does chores after work and is very humble which is something that we are very proud of. Is it surreal for you seeing that so many kids and fans look up to Jenna? It is very surreal seeing so many kids look up to Jenna. The first time she did a meet and greet, I didn’t expect many kids to show up. I was so surprised
30
POSH KIDS MAGAZINE / July 2016
to see a line around the building and the kids’ reactions to meeting her. It was so overwhelming; we just do not see her in that way. How does it affect your life traveling so often? Traveling has been so much fun, I am seeing places I probably would have never seen otherwise. It has made it harder for the family to be together as much as we are used to, we are still trying to find the balance. Do you like to be in the spotlight or do you leave that to Jenna? I hate pictures of myself so I will leave the spotlight to her. I am happy to stand in the corner and watch. On set for Posh Kids magazine you had the opportunity to get involved with Jenna, was this a first for you? Being involved with this photoshoot was very different for me. I liked getting my hair and makeup done. It was also very eye opening. Sometimes I tell Jenna to quit making a certain face. I quickly learned during this shoot that it’s not as easy as it seems. What was your favorite piece from the shoot? I do not really have a favorite piece for myself, but I loved the mustard jumpsuit and bunny ears Jenna got to wear. That outfit
reminded me of the 70’s. I wore outfits like that when I was very young. Now Jenna, we hear, is one of 7 I believe? Do her siblings support her as well? Is it difficult for you to be the one traveling with her all the time? Jenna is one of 6 kids. My oldest daughter has a 3 year old son. They only live 2 miles from us, so they come over a lot and we babysit my grandson at least a few times a week. When everyone is at the house, it feels much like Jenna’s show on the Disney Channel. We have only started traveling with Jenna since April. My husband and I try to balance as much as we can. The kids have taken turns traveling with me and right now we are lucky to have everyone except my oldest here in NYC with us. My older 2 kids drive, so they help shuttle my younger ones around while dad works and I am with Jenna. The most difficult thing for me has been not being able to work. I have been a nurse for 20 years, it is part of who I am. I love taking care of people, and helping to save lives. I miss my work friends and my independence, but I will always put my kids first. If you could say anything to future grown up Jenna what would that be? I would like to tell future Jenna to always stay true to who she is and not to be pressured to say and do things that do not represent who she is. She is such a good kid with an enormous heart, I do not want that to change. She is humble which I love, but I would like to see her be more confident as she grows up. When she is in a room full of really accomplished actors and actresses, she does not feel like anybody. I am constantly having to remind her how far she has come in her 13 years of life. What, for you has been the best experience so far not only for Jenna but for you as her mom? There have been so many great experiences recently for Jenna. When she was chosen as the lead of a Disney show, was a huge moment, we both cried. Watching her perform and hearing the crowd cheer at Radio City Music Hall with my family all there to watch was another fantastic night. Lastly, being at the Tony’s and settling among A-list actors at front of the venue was another. I got a little choked up when Oprah walked past us because when Jenna was younger, she said she wanted to be the first female president. She wrote Obama a letter hoping to receive a response. She checked the mail every day for a few months, but sadly he never responded. One day, she told me she wanted to write Oprah because she knew they were friends and thought she could make Obama respond to her letter. She never did write Oprah, but seeing her reminded me of that memory and just how far Jenna has come. Do you find yourself getting star struck when meeting some of the actors Jenna is onset with? I got star struck the first time Jenna worked on TV when I saw Betty White. She was drinking her coffee standing just a few feet away from us on the CBS lot. I asked Jenna to go take a picture with her, and she replied, “Mom, let her have her morning coffee. I do not know why you get so excited she is just a person like us.” It was an eye opening moment for sure. It was then that I realized just how different Jenna thinks, she is definitely an old soul. Are you hoping to meet any specific actor/actress one day?
I do not really hope to meet any specific actor or actress, but I do hope that Jenna gets the opportunity to work on big feature films with some of the people that have inspired her. Actors like Denzel Washington, Lupita Nyong’o, Jessica Lange, Jennifer Lawrence, Russell Crowe, Chris Pratt, Brie Larson, etc. I want her to reach that place where she feels that she achieved what she set out to do. Is there anything you would like to tell parents of aspiring actors and actresses? I would like to tell parents of aspiring actors to support their kids if it is truly what their kid wants to do. It is the child that has to really want to do it because it comes with some sacrificing and requires a lot of patience.

Sleeping in Style baby sleepwear. The lady behind it all is Becky Hodges. If, like me, you follow her on Instagram then you will know that she’s partial to a good brew. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such pretty cups of tea! In between sipping on a strong Assam with a drop or two of honey (her personal favourite), holding down a part-time job, being wife to Dean, and mum to her two babies, Willow (18 months) and Monty (three years) – affectionately known as Didi and Bud – Becky has been busy building the foundations for her new business.
Since the birth of her son, new mum and blogger Rebecca Lambert (thenewmumchronicles.wordpress.com) has become a champion of small business, particularly those set up by fellow mothers. Here she introduces us to Didi and Bud – a new baby sleepwear brand with a modern twist.
B
eyond the high street, there’s a whole world of businesses and shops that I hadn’t known anything about until I had my son. While he napped, I began browsing Instagram and within a very short space of time, I became hooked. You see, within this network of square photos therein lies something rather special- a community of mothers… all supporting one another. When I discovered that one of my all-time favourite Instagram accounts and mum crushes – @just_another_ instamum – was launching her own baby sleepwear brand, I couldn’t wait to see what she had up her sleeve. I hadn’t been disappointed! Launched this June, Didi and Bud (www.didiandbud. co.uk) is all about bringing a classic, yet modern, twist to
Quintessential English designs “I wanted to create something different – something with a minimalist feel and a real focus on the design element,” Becky says. “I’ve always loved the babies looking little and being comfy, but I wanted to see more grow-up designs. Yes, these sleepsuits are for babies, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that they need to be adorned with bright colours, teddy bears and Disney characters.” Becky’s debut collection takes on a quintessential English, mini gent, and little woman theme. “English fashion is very much about ladies and gentlemen at the moment and I wanted to translate that to babywear too,” she says. Call me biased but the designs are truly beautiful. Think about delicate patterns on soft white cotton- striking yet minimal at the same time. To start with, there are four different patterns you can get your hands on: the penny farthing, top hats, lace umbrella, and the vintage bicycle in black, blue, pink, and grey respectively. While proud of them all, Becky admits that the penny farthing is probably her stand-out piece. “I’ve got a big monochrome crush and I’m so pleased with how this one turned out. I hope it will be popular with all the other monochrome lovers out there too.” Made in England Everything about Didi and Bud is proudly home grown as Becky has designed all of the sleepsuit patterns and prints herself while her nearest and dearest has helped to illustrate them. All of the production has taken place locally in the UK. “From the start, my aim has been to create safe and comfortable clothing which I am ethically and socially proud of.” Becky says. “I was keen to support British makers but it was also important to have absolute confidence in the materials I was choosing. I’ve stuck to my aim, which was to produce everything from the sleepsuits to the tags and labels here in the U.K..” For now, only the smallest humans in our lives can wear Didi and Bud. Sleepsuit sizes start at newborn and go up to 12-18 months but with more designs and pyjamas for older children in the pipeline, there’s a lot to look forward to. Rebecca can be found writing about all things baby style, motherhood, and everything in between at thenewmumchronicles.wordpress.com and on Instagram – @thenewmumchronicles. M Following dreams without looking back.
MAXWELL JAMES photographed by MICHAEL CREAGH
Have you always wanted to be an actor? What motivates you to continue following your dream? I discovered that I enjoy acting when I worked on my first independent short film. I had just turned eight. I had never acted in front of a camera with a director and crew, but it was fun and I felt very comfortable. When I had finished filming, I knew that it was something I wanted to do again. I think I’m motivated by the excitement of getting the next role and getting back on set. Are there specific roles or characters you enjoy playing more than others? Every role is a learning experience for me. The role of “Adam Warren” has been the role that challenged me the most so far. It gave me the chance to develop the character.
I’d like to try different types of roles in the future, especially a comedic role. Is the character of Young Adam on “The Family” a tough role for you to play? No, it wasn’t too tough. The role was serious at times, but it’s something I really enjoy doing. Plus, the actors that I got to work with are very nice and supportive. What do you like doing on your free time? When I’m not acting or in school, I hang out with my friends and play video games. Do you have any other special talents? I’m good at playing video games! I also enjoy running. I run on my school’s track and field team and like running in the 100 and 200 meter events.

Travel Spots for the Entire Family Planning a family vacation is undisputedly a strenuous task. Between juggling traveling guides and baby binkies, trying to find the perfect balance between enriching exoticism and a safe environment for the kids can seem near impossible. Fortunately, there are many locations around the globe which provide the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing get-away. Offering an immersion into fascinating cultures, delicious cuisine, and family-friendly activities, these locations are sure to satisfy both toddlers and parents alike.
Honolulu
While Honolulu, Hawaii tends to be a common travel destination, it is often unrecognized for it’s variety of family-oriented entertainment. This vibrant capital is a melting pot of people and things to do, ranging from shopping centers to historical landmarks to incredible restaurants. One of the many places to visit is Hanuama Bay, a marine embayment formed from a collapsed volcano crater. It boasts facilities such as a terrific beach, hiking trails, and an underwater area chock-full of marine-wildlife that one could snorkel in. There are many companies that operate exhilarating water sports (jet skiing, scuba-diving, whale-watching, etc.), such as “SeaBreeze Watersports” and “Island Divers Hawaii”. For people craving a bit more serenity, the Ala Moana Beach Park offers gorgeous views and a tranquil environment while the kids play in the sea.
Costa Rica Visiting Costa Rica is certainly not for the faint of heart. Besides the touching hospitality of the Costa Rican culture and the authenticity of their cuisine, there is an adventure around every corner! The wealth of wildlife is prominent, with a total of twenty-seven national parks and fifty-eight wildlife refuges, each boasting its own unique beauty. Whether it’s going horseback riding on the lively beaches or zip-lining through forest canopies, there’s no shortage of activities. The dining experience in Costa Rica is perfect for pickyeaters as well as self-pronounced food-critics. The food is often served very fresh, and (unlike other types of Latin American cuisine) includes a large variety of food groups that lower the overall calorie intake. Typical Costa Rican dishes include “Casado” (a very common platter consisting of different meats and some fruits), “Olla de Carne” (a nutritious stew), “Gallo Pinto” (rice and beans stir-fried simultaneously in a pan) and plenty more. There is a comforting feel to eating these homemade-style foods, yet the complexity of flavours will cease to disappoint.
Tahiti The islands of Tahiti are some of the most renowned vacation spots in the world. Filled with heavenly beaches and breathtaking views, this area in the south Pacific is a great place to recharge with the family. One can immerse themselves into the Tahitian culture by staying in a bungalow atop the crystal waves, or having a peaceful picnic on a private motu. The elegant tongue of Polynesian French flows leisurely to match the tranquil environment. There is, however, the essential flair of adventure for the more daring vacationers. Tourists in Tahiti would have the opportunity to partake in an island excursion or a safari. Yet the most popular attraction in Tahiti is boarding a powerboat and taking it out to feed some docile sharks. Instructed by an experienced guide, this activity is even safe for children- the courageous ones at that! The spirited nightlife of Tahiti is another great source of entertainment to indulge in. There are many displays of traditional Tahitian dancing, including the beautiful expression of emotion by the dancers and even some edgy fire-breathing tricks. The culture really shines even when the sun is down.

POSH SPOTLIGHTS
ZOE BEAN How would you describe Zoe’s personal style? Zoe is only 6 years old so it’s hard to define a specific personal style for her. Like most kids her age, her likes and dislikes change on a regular, if not daily, basis. As her mom, I prefer to dress her in pieces that are different and stand out from what you see in major retail stores. A bit edgier and out of the box. When did you decide to start an IG account to showcase what Zoe loves? I started Zoe’s IG account just over a year ago. I did it more to separate all of my kids’ photos from my work IG account and Zoe seemed to really enjoy being in front of the camera. Do you try and keep up with the current fashion trends or do you follow what Zoe feels she likes best. We do both. My eldest daughter is 14, so she’s always on the pulse of what’s ‘in’ in terms of fashion. I love translating styles for women into mini versions for Zoe. She loves trying new things, so she’s usually up for anything style-wise. Zoe definitely has her favourite pieces though, and we get good mileage out of those. Tell us what an average day consists of for Zoe? Honestly, we aren’t very exciting on the daily. An average day for her is getting up and getting ready for school. School from 9 am - 3:30 pm. Home to do homework and play for 80
POSH KIDS MAGAZINE / July 2016
a bit, have dinner and then she goes to Taekwondo (she’s a black belt) from 7 pm – 8 pm. We come home, bath, snack, and bedtime. And then we start all over again the next day. Occasionally she has an audition or a photoshoot, but for the most part she’s a regular kid. What is Zoe’s favorite part about being “IG famous”? Wow, I don’t think Zoe has any idea about being “IG famous”. I don’t really consider her to be famous myself, but we love that people can feel inspired by our images and styling. What other interests does Zoe have? Aside from posing for the camera, Zoe loves to draw, read, dance and do anything that involves being outside. She has been doing Taekwondo for 3 years now and is also learning to play tennis. And of course she loves to play dress up. What do you see for Zoe’s future self? Do you plan to keep up her IG for years to come? Zoe has such great determination that I can’t see any obstacle ever holding her back from achieving her goals. I hope she will have a future full of happiness, love and success in whatever she does. I think we will keep Zoe’s IG going for as long as she enjoys doing it. The minute it’s not fun is the time to stop. Until then we are so thankful to everyone that has supported us and watched Zoe grow so much in the last year.
ETHAN AND EVAN Tell us how Ethan and Evan are different in their individual styles? Ethan has a more edgy kind of style and Evan also has an edgy style but he also has a touch of “cute” in his style. Their styles are strongly influenced by “street style” but also by what is trending now. I also try to style them in a way that hasn’t been seen before. So trying to think outside the box. Have they always been close? What made you decide to have one unified account rather than two? Ethan and Evan are only 18 months apart so they’ve known each other all their lives, they are best friends and have this strong connection (although they also do argue a lot). I never really thought about having two separate accounts for them so when I decided to create an IG account I just made one (plus it’s easier to manage). How does it feel being a parent of two fashionist(o) boys who have gained quite the following on IG? When I created this account early last year I never thought they will get so popular! I just wanted to have fun and do what I like which is styling them. I am so grateful of all the love they are getting and the friendship they have formed with some of the other brand reps! I also got to make new friends so that’s an extra bonus! I love supporting small businesses. What are some perks of being “IG famous”? I’m not sure they are really “IG famous” but some of the perks would be to that we get to meet new amazing new friends, we are also getting the attention of some amazing small shops who would
like so see their threads on Ethan and Evan and also the attention of magazines such as yours! My husband and I are so honoured to have our boys featured in pages and magazines- it feels unreal! When the boys are not styling for the camera, what can we find them doing? What are their favorite activities? They love hanging out at the playground, riding their bikes & scooters at the bike park, and playing basketball. Ethan also really loves swimming! Evan loves his superhero toys especially Batman and Superman. So as you can see, they are just regular little boys who enjoy life to the max. If the boys could only choose one favorite fashionable item to wear, what would it be? If I had to give them the choice, Ethan would grab his SnapBack for sure and Evan his new Vans (they are obsessed!). What is your favorite item for them to wear? As it’s really cold in Australia now (it’s our winter), I love them in warm wool beanies. I love winter fashion as I get to layer their clothes which means rad jackets/coats/hoodies! Plans for the future: what do you see the boys growing up to be? Ethan is only 5 and Evan almost 4 so thinking about what they will be when they grow up is kind of hard. I just want them to be themselves and do what they love most. At the moment Ethan wants to be an NRL player (Australian National Rugby League) and Evan wants to be Batman! If they still want to pursue a model/acting career I will be happy to support them. POSH KIDS MAGAZINE / JUly 2016
