Welcome to the 2013 Pender County Business Expo Kelsey Seitter, Executive Director Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce This Thursday, products and services from local Pender County businesses will be featured at the annual Pender Business Expo from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the historic Burgaw Train Depot located at 115 South Dickerson Street in Downtown Burgaw. Small businesses are a crucial element to the success of our local economy and the Pender County Business Expo provides a unique opportunity for locals to explore what area businesses offer and to initiate valuable business contacts. Conveniently located in Burgaw’s historic district, this FREE event will fill the Depot with activities throughout the day! From the banquet hall, to the dock, to the Depot grounds, businesses can be found offering product samples and demos and resources to attendees. Exhibitors include small businesses and government entities encompassing such sectors as health care, insurance, retail, food, and finance. In addition, a number of other activities will be taking place. SpiderMike will be providing LIVE entertainment (11 am – 2pm) and Chef Gailyn Gagliardi will demonstrate cooking with local food on the Dock (2pm – 5pm). Come by

and say hello to Scooby-Doo to get your pink ribbon and stop by the photo booth to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness month, and drop by the Pender County Health Department booth for your flu vaccine ($30 – don’t forget your insurance card). Also visiting will be AirLink, New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s emergency helicopter, the SABLE helicopter, and other emergency vehicles. And don’t forget to get grab a Well’s Pork BBQ sandwich! Proceeds benefit the Chamber’s Scholarship fund, which provides three local teenagers with $1,000 college scholarships. Sales begin at 11 a.m. and will continue until sold out. And of course, do not forget to stop by the Pender-Topsail Post & Voice booth, our official greeters of the Expo! Also remember to swing by the Burgaw Area Chamber of Commerce booth to get your FREE CFL Light bulb (compliments of Four County Electric Membership Cooperation) and Chamber tote bag.
