It’s a season of giving at Pender Adult Services The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) spread much joy throughout the Christmas season across Pender County and provided gifts, smiles, and love throughout the community. Thank you to all the wonderful RSVP volunteers for the extra time and warmth they added to this special season of the year. Special thanks to Dolores Huffman and Arlene Chem-
ers for their homemade “heat pad creations. Each homebound senior received this special wrapped gift. Reindeer cookies, homemade pound cakes (made by the Harvey/Keith families), candy canes and Christmas cards were lovingly distributed. Thank you to our terrific RSVP volunteers and to many in the community that help us spread the joy during this
season of giving. Topsail Senior Center volunteers helped the American Legion with food distribution to the homebound in the Hampstead Area. Heritage Place seniors helped Trask High School with a Bright Ideas Project. Seniors cut fleece material into 225 scarves and 24 blankets so that students could tie the fringe and distribute to the area homeless.
