2022 has been the Year of Volunteering in Norway. We have celebrated Norway’s most important teamwork, and there has been a great deal of attention paid to the volunteers in both culture, sport and humanitarian work. Norway Post is celebrating the Year of Volunteering with the issue of a stamp designed by Jørn O. Jøntvedt. The stamp will be issued on 11 November, well in advance of Volunteer’s Day on 5 December.
This year’s Christmas stamps are the result of an exciting collaboration with God Morgen Norge (Good Morning Norway) on TV2. Last December, viewers of the show were invited to upload pictures of their gingerbread creations to Facebook or Instagram. Almost a thousand creations were submitted for the competition, from which an expert jury and a people’s jury picked four for this year’s Christmas stamps. Our designer Camilla Kvien Jensen has designed the four stamps. With no less than four Christmas stamps, there should be plenty of options for beautiful franking of this year’s Christmas cards.
The first stamp issue in 2023 is 21 February. The full programme for 2023 can be found on page 2.
