WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2014 • FELTHATSTRINGBAND.COM The Felt Hat String Band is a collection of some of Canada’s finest professional musicians playing in the hot swing-jazz style. Also known as ‘gypsy swing’ and ‘jazz manouche’, their repertoire reflects their love for the early gypsy-jazz pioneered by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. The band performs melodies from the canon of this genre in a new and refreshing way and consists of John Calverley on violin, Clint Pelletier on guitar, Tim Rutter on guitar and Thom Golub on bass.

He’s been invited to perform at a number of prestigious events and venues including the London Olympics, Carnegie Hall, and the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Clinton Pelletier has played with the likes of April Verch and world music fiddle group, “Barrage”, touring throughout Canada and the US with both acts. He continues to live in Edmonton and works as a freelance guitarist performing everything from bluegrass to jazz and rock. He is the founder of the award-winning gypsy jazz ensemble, Hot Club Edmonton.
