Led by Jim Findlay, these well known and talented local musicians bring their skills in both genres to the guitar, oud, violin, cajon, and bass. This group has a vivacious sound that brings a bit of latin flair to the Canada Day festivities!

Steve Hill Genre: Blues • www.stevehillmusic.com Steve Hill is a no-limits, crazy energetic one man band! Alone on stage with just his guitar, his voice and his foot playing a variety of percussion, Steve Hill delivered one of the best shows of the 2014/2015 Qualico Café Series. Since then he’s won a Juno Award for Blues Album of the Year! He joins us again to add some musical fireworks to our Canada Day festivities!

Daniel Moir Genre: singer/songwriter • www.danielmoir.com There is something about the upbeat songwriting of Daniel Moir that draws listeners into his story. Daniel’s music has been compared to a cinematic journey through the great Canadian landscape, taking him to festivals across Canada and the United States. Originally from Edmonton, the Vancouver based singer songwriter brings his newest release, Monday Morning.

Summer of Glass and Clay Vessels of Containment

Glass Fusion

Brenda Danbrook will guide you in this creative, hands-on exploration of new processes for integrating wheel thrown forms to create unique, fun, fabulous altered bowls and vessels of containment. Serveral approaches to form, rims, handles, feet and maximizing volume will be explored, along with new ideas in decorating with pattern and surface embellishment. Additionally, techniques and methods of throwing larger vessels with less strain and the introduction of taking objects off the round to create more complex assembled vessels will be explored. A basic understanding of wheel throwing is required. Clay is not included; please bring a cheque or cash to the first class. Pottery will not necessarily be fired, as it is a workshop. George and Jennie stumble on, overcoming both their hesitation on the rebound and emotional neediness. Leo, meanwhile, has a fling with Faye, Jennie’s neurotic, married, friend.
