Although a necessary component to each respective phase, the ten components are defined and applied differently within each phase. Understanding and mastering these components will provide readers with effective knowledge of self and can serve as an excellent template to reach sustainable success in all areas of life. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: a. “If you fail to plan, then plan to fail.” We all know this to be somewhat true, but an entrepreneur needs to learn to expand this to include the importance of being fluid. If you fail to adjust your plan, then plan to adjust your expectations. Entrepreneurs like all others are subject to bounded rationality. The idea that decisions are limited by the information available, cognitive limitations of the problem solver and the time available to make the decision. Within entrepreneurship, the learning curve is steep and the terrain dynamic. Given that the entrepreneur is likely a novice and the set of skills necessary to succeed within this arena unrefined, the rate that new information needs to be interpreted and integrated is quite high. Mastering this skill is key to sustainable success. b. Do the work upfront! Define balance. Define success. Create an exit strategy. Make sure that all the terms in your plan can be defined and measured so that progress can be tracked and controlled. Many people possess the ambition and fewer the vision, however the truly successful have identified their goal, can track the progress to said goal and have instituted accountability measures that help guide their progress to their goal. What does "Power" mean to you? “Power” means the ability to make change. To become a positive impact to the people that surround you, to your community, to the entire world. Power means courage, it means strength the ability to keep going and never give up. Being able to spread love and lift the next one up even when you’re at your lowest point. It’s the gift that God allows you to manifest once you understand what your purpose in life is. Being able to change the world one step at a time, bringing happiness and hope to the people that need it most, and setting the right example for our future generation is the most powerful thing that we can do as human beings in this life. Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: “Diamonds in the Ruff” is NJ’s luxurious pet grooming salon and spa located in Lincoln Park. It’s shining bright enough to capture the attention of celebrities from various parts of the U.S. Teresa Giudice from ‘Housewives of New Jersey’, Shanda Freeman and Celebrity Stylist Alisa Maria a few of the many stars that have their furry loved ones groomed by me. Being a celebrity groomer and master stylist I like usually like to add a splash of life and pizazz to my grooming; with perfected fufu cuts and colorized paw designs. My goal is to have heads turning when passing by your fur baby!
I’m a dog mom and the most important thing to me has always been my girls safety, comfort, and receiving the tender, love, and care that she deserves. I wanted to give pet parents like me all over the comfort and peace of mind with leaving their loved ones at a grooming spa. I only insist on giving each one of my furry clients personalized attention and care. Being the first African American to complete my Masters at Yin Lin Grooming School in Chongqing, China, I endeavor to open the door and pave a new road for all women, including minorities in the pet grooming industry. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: To my emerging entrepreneurs I will say this, always keep your focus in what you’re about to do. Whatever field it is that you're about to commit to, make sure you’re passionate about it. The journey to success is not an easy one and that passion will help push you through the difficult times. Understand those times will happen, because it’s all a part of the process, but your love for what you do is going to keep that fight in you alive. I promise you do this and you’re bound to reach the top of the mountain. My second piece of advice is think outside the box. No dream is too small no thought is too big. Everything that exists in today's world that we rely on, phones, lights, cars, planes. They all started with a dream, a dream that someone turned to reality. It’s possible, always remember that. Think outside of the box. Dream of things that never were and ask why not. What is next for you and your brand? I plan to really give back next year. My goal is to open a grooming school. The first to be owned by and African American in the US. I enjoy having the privilege and honor of going on such major platforms such as ABC7. Speaking as a professional expert in my field, spreading knowledge about an overlooked grooming industry. Pets are a part of our lives and I think i’s time to start bringing awareness to the pet industry and to start spreading knowledge about proper care for your fur baby. How can readers support your business + connect with you online? Support is always appreciated just by spreading the word. My mission is to make a difference in this world. One step at a time. I want to give people hope. I want my story to be an inspiration to everyone that anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself. "Power is the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events. To move or travel with great speed or force."
DANIEL DICKEY
What does "Power" mean to you? I’m a very literal person, what the word means in the dictionary is the basis for my definition of any word. So power is the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events. To move or travel with great speed or force. Power is something that needs to be wielded with great responsibility. The ability to move people in whatever direction you would have them go is significant and impactful. I’ve never taken for granted the power God has given me to move people, to make them think, dance, laugh, smile, listen and love. Being blessed with this ability is something I’m forever humbled by and grateful Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: The Resource Guild is a solution based 360 Degree Brand Management & Strategy Consulting Agency, we are only here to identify and solve problems for growing businesses. Its funny, because some of my friends describe me as “The Human Google” because I literally know somebody that does everything. From A to Z, mechanic to medic, celebrities, change agents, high ranking executives and everything in between all the way down to some of the less fortunate in our world – the whole gambit!

If people think your website is a disaster, then that’s a problems...all of these problems and MANY more are solved at TRG. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: Find something you would love doing forever and make sure you find a way to do it forever, even if you don’t get paid for it. This world doesn’t need anymore perpetually drained people doing jobs they have no passion in. If you’re doing it right, entrepreneurship should be purposeful, passionate, profitable, challenging, socially responsible and fun. I’m of the mind now that I feel a responsibility to caution emerging entrepreneurs to establish some level of foundational business and moral compass related principle development. So many emerging entrepreneurs come into the space with deficiencies in communication, poor follow-up, and other professional skills. Simply doing what you say you’re gonna do, when you say you’re gonna do it will set you apart significantly in today’s marketplace. What is next for you and your brand? I feel like my life journey so far has been an extraordinary journey through faith, fun, audacity, execution and favor. That journey fuels The Resource Guild and me as an individual. I’m of the mind right now that “Next is Now”, our leaders and legends are dying and the next generations are not rising into those roles at a conducive rate. I feel like my life is taking me into that space as a national/international thought leader, change agent and talent. What we’re already doing at The Resource Guild is positioning ourselves as a solution based agency solving problems for businesses large and small going to the next level. We are already impacting the industry by our 360 approach, we catch and correct things that our clients are in some cases never even thinking about. In the effective building of a structure, having a strong foundation is a major pillar, we impact business and culture effectively by making sure our clients have strong foundations before we turn the spotlights on for them to shine. This makes them more ready for the blessings that will come next. We hope to continue to be a place where there are no limits and no rules outside of the requirements that you are honest, reverent, respectful and DOPE! How can readers support your business + connect with you online? To me support is a very interesting word, it can come in lots of ways and to me the first way we can support each other is to pursue excellence in achieving our passions and dreams. KOREY WITAK "Power means In luence to me. The source of energy. It’s the very essence that moves us day to day."
Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: I started my own promotional company while in college here in Atlanta as a void fill. I saw people my age now controlling the atmospheres and fun for 18 and 19 year old kids. It didn’t make sense. Seemed disconnected and I wanted it to change. So myself and 9 friends re-created The Hittsquad. The Hittsquad thrived in our home state of New Jersey as an outlet for teenagers to do something positive amidst the emerging gang culture. It’s what we knew. We took that power, that energy and brought it to Atlanta as a remedy for a social culture which was growing without identity. This prepared me to include myself in an even larger void. The Atlanta club scene. We built Oak Atlanta with intentions on doing things most clubs would not. Most clubs alienate the normal general admission ticket buyer as a space filler. But I saw that person as the same ticket buyer who went to school with me. Working class black people. The same people who didn’t need the big name artist to decide to spend their money. The same person that doesn’t want to pay $40 to park $40 to skip the line for their bday and $50 for a hookah and $20 on one drink in the first 30 minutes of their arrival at the club. So we wanted to cater to them. So we built OAK Atlanta to embrace that person. Change the narrative. Make it affordable, but inclusive. By the numbers, we‘ve proved successful. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: 1. Paperwork is your armor. 2. In this business, you only are who you appear to be. What is next for you and your brand? Maybe club #2. www.Power20Mag.com Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: The 411 Brand Foundation is a 5013c organization designed to bridge the gap between successful individuals and young people striving for success in the areas of education, athletics and entertainment. The 411 Brand was created in 1992 as a talk show that gave celebrities and successful individuals an opportunity to share their journey with young people in Middle & High School in Atlanta. The purpose was to show young people that success starts with a vision, followed by hard work, faith and support. Most young people only get a chance to see the finished product, they don’t have access to the entire journey. Our program gives young people an inside look at the journey of someone that they admire in an effort to assist them with making critical decisions on their oath to success. We started inside the school system as a tour and then moved into a partnership with Magic Johnson Theaters where we invited over 400 students to each show. This proved to be so successful that we partnered with Sprite for a 10 City Tour across the country. After the tour we met with national television distributors to take the program to television. Due to the television climate (Jerry Springer, Ricky Lake) executives felt that there wasn’t a place in television for a positive youth specific program. We decided to pivot and go back to the community and continue to build the organization inside out. Currently we have a partnership with the City of Atlanta as well as After School programs with Atlanta Public Schools. We currently serve over 600 students a year in the areas of entertainment, education and athletics. We offer the following programs: Sports, Soccer, Basketball, Lacrosse, Golf, Entertainment, Dance, Film, Music, Drones, Education, Financial Literacy and HIV/ AIDS Prevention.

Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: A. Take a moment to determine your WHY? We all have the ability to do great things but it must be in line with who we are as a person. You must ask yourself are you in the game for money or are you doing it to fill a void that will impact others. This decision will determine your direction. Yes, the goal as a business is to generate money but if that’s your only intention I feel that you could miss your purpose. B. Enjoy the journey to your destination. Life is in the process. Yes, we all want to achieve our ultimate business goals but instead of focusing on the end, learn to live in the moment and embrace the journey. What is next for you and your brand? Next up for the 411 Brand is opening up our own complex that will house all of our programs under one roof. We currently have partnerships with APS After-School Program and COA Teen Academy to provide programming at various locations throughout the City. Now our focus will be to create a consistent culture of young people looking to put in the 10,000 hours needed, to become successful with the guidance and supervision of professional individuals committed to sharing their knowledge with the next generation. The 411 Brand Athletic & Education Complex will be a members only “Country Club Feel” for young people throughout Metro Atlanta. Stay Tuned! Personally, I have a book coming out in 2020 called “Egg Solid....An Introspective View On Success + A Step By Step Guide to Achieving Your Goals.” I’ve been in the business of youth development for close to 30 years. One thing that never changes is a young person’s desire to be successful. But what does change is how to navigate that success in a world that is constantly changing and evolving. This book will give young people a framework to use as a checks & balancing guide to identifying and moving in their true purpose. How can readers support your business + connect with you online? Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: My name is Shakeenah and I am the Design/Owner of Revert Apparel. I established my business in December 2017 shortly after I reverted to Islam. In Islam there is a certain way a woman should dress and I found the traditional cultural clothing I saw other women wearing was not my style of dress. So that's when I decided I'm going to create my own brand that represent who I am while respecting my religion. Fast forward to a year later, that's when I decided I wanted to take my original plan and revamp my brand to something greater because I want all women no matter her age, color, or faith to wear "Revert." I have always been a lover/student of fashion since the age of 13, actually it was the first thing I told my teacher I wanted to be. Revert Apparel is designed to show women you can be covered and still be chic. What does Power mean to You? Power to me means to be true to yourself without compromising your self-worth. To be a God fearing woman, wife, mother, boss and financially independent while keeping your feminine qualities. What is next for you and your brand? CHRISTOPHER JAMES "Power is the use of one's innate instincts and abilities to affect change for the greater good".
Power is generated from within. It starts with knowing yourself, accepting who you are (good and bad), and sitting in it with confidence. Once you're in tune with you, you can then use that power to make an impact on the outer world. Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: There are a lot of people doing a lot of good things in our society. Much of those good works don't reach many people because people simply don't know about it. One of the tenets of my Photography business (Montyangelo Productions) is to help shine a spotlight on people, businesses, organizations, etc. that are working to have a positive impact on the community. I believe that we're living in a time in history where we're the most distracted. There are so many things that consume our attention on a daily basis, making it difficult to actually achieve what we desire. So I also focus on highlighting people that are able to find their focus and actually take action on their goals. I believe that we should do what we want in life; pursue our biggest dreams with passion. There's a power in that. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: 1) Play the long game. Instant gratification seems to be the theme right now. Don't just work for short-term gains. It will take some time for things to get rolling. A plane doesn't just take off in the air from a stationary position. It's a gradual build-up of speed and momentum then it soars into the sky. Work at your own speed and build your momentum. 2) Don't be above doing things for free. Focus on your craft, providing value, and serving others - the money will soon come. When starting out, it's advantageous to provide your services at no cost on occasions. Even when you do things for free, you still get paid. You just get paid on the back-end, and it's not always in the form of money. It helps you get your name and business out there, expanding your reach. You want as many people to know about your business as possible and it gets you entry into someone's network. What is next for you and your brand? Continued growth and more investments into the business. I'll be getting into video a lot more beginning in 2020. It was originally the reason I got my first camera two years ago, so I'm excited to step back into that world. How can readers support your business + connect with you online? "Power is both ability and desire. There must be both to affectuate change".
Our lives are the composite of the eternal momentum NOW. Whenever we do something, it is because we know we have both the ability and desire to get it done. The only thing standing in our way is fear. Whenever we allow ourselves to be taken over by the things that scare us, or make us feel less than, then we diminish or all together lose our power. It is essential that we eclipse the fears in our lives, so that we maintain and grow our power. Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: I am a Supreme Performance and Professional Development Coach. I thoroughly enjoy working with people to face and release the fears that diminish their success. Surprisingly, these are already very successful people who use their wins to hide insecurity, self-doubt, and buried anger behind a mask of well-being. I am very well equipped to do this. This used to be me. I am an attorney, CPA, Certified Christian Life Coach, New Thought Practitioner (minister), and have received many accolades and recognitions based on my accomplishments, community and professional organizations. Each time I achieved something new, it was an effort to mask feelings of poor self image and self-distrust. Not until my health made me stop and face what was going on that I was able to embrace and move forward. I used my experience of overcoming stage 4 endometriosis and the subsequent surgeries that led to a full hysterectomy, bowel resection, and high blood pressure to create a system of programming and coaching techniques to help others not only avoid self-implosion, but to embrace total and complete freedom. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: You are a business owner. Forget the "entrepreneur" and "small" part of that. As you set up your business, lay a good foundation and put in the work Ensure that as you grow into a larger organization that you will not have to go back and redo things that you could have and should have done from the beginning. For instance go ahead and get a good accountant and a lawyer. Invest in a good accounting software program. Complete your estate planning. And get insurance on both you and your business, including disability insurance. What is next for you and your brand? My fourth book "Knocked Down, Set Straight: Face It, Speak It, Forgive It, Release It!" is available on my website, as well as Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and is also on Audible. My app "Leading Through Living Community" is available for download for both Apple and Android devices. I am very excited about sharing my new coaching programs The 90-day Breakaway (TM) starting in 2020 and my book tour is going on now. I'd be delighted if your readers would join me for the journey. "Power means the opportunity to empower and impact people's lives"
It is the ability to create and support platforms that give others access and hope. Power is the responsibility we have, to carve a path for others to follow once we have figured it out. Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact: When we first started doing taxes ten years ago, we went about it like most people, as a self-employed business where we touched and serviced every client. The problem was we were still trading our time for money, and that meant there was a limit on how many clients we could service. In 2015 we decided to implement a licensing model that allows people to get their start in the tax industry with a complete online business system designed to work from home. We set them up to do business just like the big box stores, without the overhead and expenses of a traditional franchise. It was important for us to remove the upfront cost so that we could remove the biggest barrier keeping people from starting their own business: money. So we found the best way to grow our client base was to empower others to become business owners too. Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs: Pay attention to trends and shifts and don't be afraid to innovate ahead of the curve. If people don't understand what you are doing, you are probably on the right track to innovate and disrupt that space. Secondly, be the leader of your vision and understand that everyone may not see it right away but that's okay, that's why it's YOUR vision. What is next for you and your brand? As we get closer to tax season, we are preparing the more than 1500 store owners across the country for a great season. On the corporate front we are looking to continue to add other offerings to our platform that will make the ONE STOP Taxes opportunity bigger and better for them. And on a personal level, we are always diversifying, so 2020 will bring more deals in real estate, a relationship book, a pilot about our family, success and business, community enrichment initiatives and more. How can readers support your business + connect with you online? To learn more about how you can partner with ONE STOP Taxes to start a new online tax business or how you can scale your existing tax business, you can visit www.onestoptaxes.com or contact a store owner in your area. In my opinion, the word "Power" means having the ability and strength to not only in luence others, but to make decisions and take courses of action that will bring about change in a positive way. Tell us about your business and how it was designed to make a positive impact:
My businesses are multifaceted. I consider myself to be a serial entrepreneur! I am a model, coach, motivational speaker, pharmacist and a financial literacy specialist. I thoroughly enjoy each endeavor and feel they represent different layers of who I am as a woman and individual. I believe my businesses make a positive impact by letting individuals know that it's okay to pursue more than one occupation/goal and you don't have to limit yourself or fit in a one size fits all box. I enjoy encouraging others by living my life unapologetically for me. I believe my example gives others the freedom to pursue their dreams and take a chance on themselves.
Share 2 pieces of business advice for emerging entrepreneurs:
Two pieces of advice I would give emerging entrepreneurs is to start where you are, with what you have and that it's okay to make mistakes. You will never, ever feel 100% ready and adequately prepared with enough experience or with all of your resources. That's ok, just go ahead and begin. If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get started. As you continue to push forward the necessary steps and tools will align by faith. Mistakes are apart of life. The key thing is to gain wisdom and insight from them so you won't make them again. Don't be afraid to "fail" forward. The best inventions, discoveries, and breakthroughs all came through trial and error. Remember the person who is making mistakes is at least trying.
What is next for you and your brand?
The next steps for my brand is to continue with ongoing exposure through public speaking and modeling. I plan to continue to foster relationships and build partnerships that will help me elevate to my next level. I want to continue growing each one of my unique entities with steady and consistent progress. Readers can support my businesses by sending me referrals for motivational speaking, financial literacy and/or coaching!
