Exclusive Interview with

Dr. Jonathan BANK (DJB)

PGMAG: Dr. Jonathan, welcome to today’s interview with Lady Anita.

DJB: Thank you very much, Lady Anita. It's an honor to join you and share my perspectives with your readers.

PGMAG: Please briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

DJB: I am Dr. Jonathan Bank, a board-certified plastic surgeon with a deep passion for combining the artistry and precision of plastic surgery. My practice is centered around breast and body contouring, and breast reconstruction. A unique aspect of my work is sensory restoration in breast reconstruction, a field where I conduct clinical research.

PGMAG: It was an honour to have met you, and to have listened to your presentation at the recently concluded Bunchful summit in New York.

DJB: The pleasure was all mine. The Bunchful summit presented a fantastic platform for exchanging innovative ideas and connecting with leaders across various fields. I was delighted to share my insights and learn from others.

PGMAG: As a global influencer and a promoter of “women's beauty”, what would you say to today’s woman?

DJB:

Today's woman embodies strength, resilience, and beauty in its most authentic form. My message is to embrace these qualities, to understand that beauty is not just external but is also about the inner journey, especially in overcoming life's challenges.

PGMAG: What are the top 5 keys to leading a successful team?

DJB:

  1. Visionary leadership that inspires and motivates,

  2. Clear and compassionate communication, fostering a culture where everyone feels heard and valued,

  3. Encouraging teamwork and collaboration, recognizing that great ideas often come from collective efforts,

  4. Promoting continuous education and growth, encouraging team members to expand their skills and knowledge,

  5. Recognizing individual talents and contributions, ensuring that each team member feels appreciated and integral to the team’s success.

PGMAG: You described your work as a combination of “medicine and art” which I find incredible to imagine. Please let us hear more about this style of service.

DJB: In my practice, I approach surgery not just as a medical procedure but as an art form. For example, in my 'Reconstructed' and 'Restored' projects, I use photography (with beauty photographer Erez Sabag), sculpture, and digital media to celebrate the journey of healing and transformation and culturally rich society. that my patients undergo. This approach underlines the importance of seeing each patient as a whole, where their emotional and aesthetic needs are as important as their medical ones.

PGMAG: What is your message for world leaders?

DJB: My message to world leaders is to invest more in healthcare and the arts, recognizing their intertwined role in societal wellbeing. I urge them to support initiatives that foster both medical advancements and artistic expressions, as both are essential for a healthy, resilient,

PGMAG: Women tend to carry heavy burdens in every society, and as a result, they neglect their own needs. This obviously has hindered personal and professional growth in most cases. In your opinion as a champion of change, what can be done to help more women discover their power?

DJB: Empowering women starts with creating environments where they can thrive without having to choose between personal responsibilities and professional growth. This includes offering flexible working conditions, providing robust support systems both at work and in communities, and actively promoting women's health and well-being initiatives. It's about valuing and supporting the whole woman.

PGMAG: Tell us more about the “Reblossom” project and how women can access this opportunity.

DJB: The “Reblossom” project is a heartfelt endeavor that symbolizes the resilience and beauty of women who have undergone double mastectomies. It’s about celebrating change and new beginnings, drawing parallels with the regenerative nature of flowers. The project, which includes a book and a gallery exhibit, is a collaboration with inspirational women, photographers, and creative directors. Women interested in this project can engage with it through our upcoming exhibits and by supporting Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a cause close to our hearts.

PGMAG: Finally, what would you say to your younger self?

DJB: To my younger self, I would say, cherish every moment of your journey, both the challenges and the triumphs.

The path may seem uncertain at times, but each step is a learning opportunity that shapes you into the person you are destined to become. Stay true to your values, pursue your passions relentlessly, and always remember the impact your work has on the lives of others.

PGMAG: It has been an absolute joy to share this space with you – thank you for your contribution.

DJB: Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. I am grateful for the chance to share my thoughts and experiences with your readership.
