Blair Hughes-Stanton was a friend and disciple of D.H. Lawrence, and winner of the International Prize for Engraving at Venice in 1938. He co-directed the gregynog Press from 1930 to 1933 with his wife, gertrude Hermes.

Brodzky was an Australian-born artist and writer most of whose work was created in London and New york. His work included paintings, drawings and linocuts, of which he was an early pioneer. An associate in his early career of many leading artists working in Britain of this period, including Henri gaudier-Brzeska, Mark gertler, and members of the Vorticism movement. There is a bust of him in the Tate by gaudier-Brzeska.

10 | JACoB EPSTEIN
The ancient woodland of Epping Forest in Essex, a large tract of uncultivated land to the north east of London, had long held a fascination for Epstein. Since 1922 he had rented a number of properties in the area, as a retreat from the bustle and diversions of London. Epping Forest was completed during a frenetic summer of painting in 1933 in which Epstein completed nearly a hundred watercolours.

Bateson Mason was born in Thackley, Bradford and studied under Henry Butler at Bradford College of Art, and then with the encouragement of William Rothenstein, the Royal College of Art.

gwyneth Johnstone was the daughter of celebrated artist Augustus John and a gifted artist in her own right. She studied initially at the Slade School in London, then in Paris. Her career was

Muirhead Bone qualified as an architect, before turning to art and studying at the glasgow School of Art, originally at evening classes. He began printmaking in 1898, and although his first known print was a lithograph, he is better

KIRILL zDANEVICH | 31
Born in georgia in 1862, zdanevich studied art in St. Petersburg in 1911 and in 1913 visited Paris and the studios of Picasso and Matisse, returning to Russia in 1914. zdanevich created designs for some of the finest Futurist books of the period, such as the Treatise on Total Indecency, written by Terentyev and published in Tiflis in 1920. During this period zdanevich, who had signed the Rayonist and Futurist manifestos, painted a series of small watercolours but few oil paintings. His Cubo-Futurist style was characterized by a strong sense of colour.

Piper’s lifetime prints now sell for many thousands of pounds. This is a rare chance to acquire his work while supporting Coventry Cathedral − a cause that mattered greatly to him. The edition size is strictly limited to 250 copies. Each print bears Piper’s
signature in the plate and is numbered in pencil. When these have been sold no further copies will be made.
The prints are offered unframed, and will be accompanied by a certificate of authentication and a free documentary dvd on Piper.
We can also provide handmade framing using museum-quality archival materials and cast acrylic glazing. Framing and delivery will be an extra £150 per print. *Prices are for unframed prints

JoHN TUNNARD
This painting is listed in the Tunnard monograph. Tunnard was one of the most individual abstract painters working in Britain. Peggy guggenheim called him a 'genius' and thought his paintings were 'as musical as Kandinsky's, as delicate as Klee's and as gay as Miró's’.
