Summer is quickly approaching… and whether you are a student, a child, a parent or a retiree, the call for Summer 2016 is DON’T WASTE IT. Lazy summer days can be a great chance to relax and rejuvenate, but they can also be a trap of laziness and lethargy. Here are just a few things to consider how you can Proclaim the Excellencies of Jesus this summer by growing in your Identity in Christ, Your love and service of the Community of Christ, and in your activity in the Mission of Christ.
IDENTITY:
Pick a book of the Bible and DIVE DEEP this Summer. Try one of the Gospels like Mark or John. Jump into Sunday School as our students dive into Biblical manhood and womanhood questions and our adults combine classes this summer to study the book of Ruth. Teach your kids or grandkids about how they are loved and accepted… LAUGH a lot this summer… find times to be silly, take a walk and remember how small you are.. Try something new and remember how strong God is.
COMMUNITY:
Find a church member or visitor to get to know this summer… someone you don’t already know well. Invite them over for a meal, go to a baseball game, spend time investing in a new relationship. It will be worth it! Jump into a Growth Group again or for the first time. Pray together, study together, and do LIFE together. Growth Groups are where Growth Happens! Find a church family member who is a shut-in or who can use some help. THEN HELP! SERVE!
MISSION:
Pick a NEIGHBOR you are going to love and get to know this summer in a new or deeper way. Show hospitality and give of your time and energy. Volunteer with the NURSING HOME ministry. Love the lonely. Take your kids or grandkids and bring great joy to those with little joy in their lives. Pray with your families for the nations. Get a globe or map and pray for new places. Try ethic food and pray for that nation.
It’s not real hard to WASTE a WHOLE SUMMER… if you blink it’s gone! But it doesn’t have to be hard to MAKE an ETERNAL IMPACT this SUMMER either… Just JUMP IN!

Ladies, come study GET LOST: Your Guide to Finding True Love with girls your age as you explore and discover God’s design for love and life
Gentlemen, come join us to study WE BECAME MEN as you discover God’s design for manhood and how to stand in the face of the lies of the world with courage & faith
