One of our favorite things about the Drive Festival is what you're treated to when you get all the way up the hill. Up at the top there were all sorts of exotic cars, collectible classics, and the upper echelons of cool automotive engineering. Things like the Ferrari F-40, the Lamborghini Diablo, and all sorts of poster cars from everybody's childhood were up here in Spades. If you brought the kids out to the Drive Festival, there's no doubt they were super stoked to see Gotham City's very own Batman and his Batmobile here on site.
Now of course we can't talk about the Drive Festival without talking about our Tuning 365 Tour and our main attraction for this whole event was at the bottom of the hill in our Tuning 365 Showcase. Over the course of the show all three days we had di erent competitors coming and going and some that stayed the whole weekend to showcase their cars and compete for one of four awards. In addition to a Tuner Battlegrounds live bracket that was ongoing throughout the show there was also the opportunity to take home an Editor's Choice award over the course of three days.

With limited space at this venue, vehicle registration closed relatively early leading up to the event. We squeezed in over 60 vehicles and a couple specialty tow trucks, and gave the attendees additional eye candy at Formula DRIFT's Round 5. The vehicle owners and builders registered to compete for one of PASMAG Editor's Choice awards, and ultimately win a print feature. Additionally, our Tuner Battlegrounds award category and online competition was as popular as ever with 45 competitors participating and over 1,100 votes were registered.
The rst award of the day, Driver's Choice, was selected by Formula DRIFT PRO driver, Jhonnattan Castro. Castro drew a large crowd while walking around Tuning 365, and was seen on the ground and checking out engines from time to time. After a thorough walk-around, he

For many enthusiasts, buying a new set of wheels for their car is among the rst modi cations, if not the very rst purchase when they start modifying a car. As much as it may seem like a simple purchase, there are a handful of mistakes that enthusiasts are prone to making when purchasing wheels, especially if it’s their rst time. Luckily, we sat down with Scott Weiss of Konig Wheels to dispel some misconceptions and lend our readers some advice from a quali ed industry professional.
I'm glad we nally get to sit down and just talk a little bit about things people should be considering or, or thinking about when they're shopping for wheels for their car. Before we begin, I know who you are, but for anybody who may not know, do you want to break down your history with Konig and what you do there?
SCOTT: I've been here for about 16 years. Over that time, I've watched the company go in and out of di erent phases, and the industry change fads, and it's been an interesting place to be on this
side of the industry coming from being such a car enthusiast. I started here doing marketing and just this year I became the president.
Well congratulations! So right o the bat what are some things at Konig that you guys are doing to ensure wheels are up to your standards?
Konig's been in business for 40 years and over that time, because we are a factory, we always are very conscious about the vehicle tments that we're making, and the intended uses of the wheels that are going to be used. We're also very conscious of things like load rating, and safety requirements, and building up to certain standards, whether it be VIA and JWL if we're focused on the Japanese market, or if we're gonna be solely producing wheels here in the states, we follow an SAE standard, J2530. So these are all standards depending on where your product is intended on being sold and used. Some standards are voluntary and others are involuntary. Our goal is always to exceed a given standard by having our own set standards and audits, to ensure that everything checks out and the end user receives a reliable and
strong product for their vehicle. That's all really important, and it's something that every company and/or importer should ensure.
So when you look at the consumers, what are some of the mistakes they make early on when they're wheel shopping?
So with wheels, while it seems so primitive that we're just bolting a wheel and tire package onto a vehicle with four or ve or six bolts, it's far more complicated than that. Not so much that it's complicated in the sense that it's hard to understand, but there's a lot of places that you can go wrong. I think the rst place that people go wrong is looking at the wrong tment. It's so easy for car enthusiasts to get on the internet nowadays, or to look at the tment from a picture that they see on Instagram and then look for what the wheel was, or message the person and say, “Hey, what are you running?” And they give them the specs, and they try to mimic it to nd out - “Oh, wait a minute, this rubs. This doesn't t my car. This is the wrong tire size. I don't know why I'm having so many problems with vibration.” These are all things that happen from inherently not really choosing the right wheel and tire package for your car.
I think the thing is they use internet research rather than using a wheel and tire professional to guide them through their inexperience. I think the second piece of this is that they're not often pairing the right wheel with the correct tire. There are far more choices that you have to make besides just diameter with an o set. You have to consider whether that spoke pro le, even at the correct o set, is going to clear your brakes. Do you have a big brake kit? Do you have things on your vehicle that will change how this wheel should t? Then you have to make sure you put the right size tire on it. And listen, I'm a car enthusiast, and I know that there's a given look that everybody's trying to go to, and I'm not knocking that, but you just have to do it with your eyes wide open, because you can introduce a lot of things
that are not safe. You can introduce a lot of problems by stretching a tire. That is the cushion that your wheel and tire package rides on. So I think the rst ball of wax that people get themselves in trouble with is just not choosing the right wheel tment for their vehicle.
On the ip side, what are some things people get wrong about the construction process? There's all this talk about forged versus cast and everything in between like ow forming and these kinds of special techniques that all sorts of manufacturers have.
I think the major issue that people get wrong with this is just not properly considering their intended use because it's really di cult. And I say this from a company where we make everything from traditional cast wheels, to low pressure wheels, to wheels that we've done for OEM applications, to forged wheels. We build wheels for a lot of di erent types of companies and private label companies that are fairly popular in the industry, and the one thing that people seem to lack is they get really xated on what they read or what they see, and they're not really considering their use. So if you're going to be riding on the street, obviously there's a bunch of di erent things you can choose now.
Is it a pure street? Are you using a really small tire? Are you going to be in an area that has a really harsh environment? I think there's a lot of consideration there that people have to have when they're choosing their use. When we start talking about construction - flow-forming, cast, or forgedall wheels are made to a certain load rating. If you pick the right wheel with a correct load rating, and you pick from a quality manufacturer, you're going to have a reliable wheel for the most part. All the construction that people are doing nowadays, for the most part, is pretty good.
Where the dilemma starts to come in is when you're not considering if this is the proper load rating for my vehicle. Am I giving enough load rating attention when I'm picking this wheel and tire package? And is the manufacturer that I'm purchasing from making wheels for the tment that I'm buying uphold the right load ratings? Forged wheels certainly have their time and place. If you are that racer - that person that's looking for the best strength for weight ratio - there's no doubt that forged increases the tensile strength of a wheel.
When we start talking about the best bang for the buck, flow-forming technology really is the thing that has gotten popular in the last 10, 12, 13 years, where people can go out, spend an a ordable amount of money, get a barrel that has a similar properties that are found in the forging process, and still be able to foot the bill without shuddering every time they go to the cash register. But listencast wheels, if they're made to the right load rating, if you're using them in the right applications - I mean, people have been using cast wheels for decades and there's nothing wrong with it. I also think it's a money thing and a budget thing, and there's kind of like a factor level there that not every single person is going to have the same requirements for.
If you're using them on the track, and if you have the budget, a flow-formed wheel would obviously be a good choice if you have no budget, or if you're pushing the envelope of taking weight down. If you've done all the weight reduction, and you have the money, or you're running a serious race program, going to a forged wheel might be for you. But if you're fronting the whole bill and you have to buy 12 wheels or 16 wheels per season, maybe that doesn't work either. A lot of times now with flow-forming, we're talking about the di erence of a half a pound, a pound, sometimes a pound and a half. So you can nd wheels out there that are going to be comparable for the book.
“I think the first place that people go wrong is looking at the wrong fitment.”
With the explosion of “forged everything,” there's kind of a stigma - especially among new enthusiasts - that cast is always weaker. But like you mentioned, it's built to a certain standard. It depends on the load rating, but there are some wheels out there that are a little sketchier on the knockoff market. Is there a tell-tale sign of a wheel that's not quite built to the standard?
I think the tell-tale really is to know that you're buying a brand. Find a company that’s been around for a little bit, that makes a quality wheel, and that has a pretty decent reputation. So I think research is a big piece of it. I also think that if you want to find information about that wheel and you really struggle, I'd back away. You go on eBay, you're not sure what wheel it is, or you say, “Hey, who makes this? What's the load rating?” And if they're not really sure, I think you're done.
If you see misinformation on the back of the wheel - things that seem to be conflicting - be careful. On
the back of the wheel you may see different load ratings, but they should be per PCD. I think a lot of it just comes down to research. Do you have a warranty? We do. It's on our website, and it's easy to find. What are the specs of the wheel? They're easy to find, they're on our website. What is the load rating? We could tell you. What is the weight? We have all that information. What if something happens? Companies like us have millions and millions of dollars of liability insurance, and we're not going anywhere. We've been here for over 40 years. So I think that there's some bit of research that should fall on the onus of the person buying wheels.
So from a more technical standpoint behind the scenes in the construction process, what differentiates a proper cast wheellike you guys do - from some of these more shady knockoff ones?
Casting technology has gotten so much better in the past 15 or 20 years. Decades ago, you would have those wheels that came out of round. They'd show up in a box, you'd put them on a balancer - they just weren't round. They're talking about pouring with primitive machinery and stuff like that. Today's casting technology, especially if you have a manufacturer that has put the investment in, is really good and it doesn't matter. We often get questions about the difference between gravity cast, low pressure, or pour and tilt. At the end of the day, a lot of that has to do with the strength and load rating and how much material is necessary.
The reason that a lot of the tech nology benefits companies like us to get better - besides making a better product - is the fact that we actually get more efficient too. If I'm able to develop our casting technology, as it gets better and better, and we figure out a way to inject the molten mate rial in a quicker way, we're basically taking out the potential for some air pockets or porosity areas and stuff like that. We're also doing ourselves a favor by being able to do it in a way that will end up having to use less aluminum to achieve the same load ratings. So that's really a benefit to us - less aluminum used, less that we have to pay in shipping, less that we have to pay in actual raw materials. I think that benefit has transcended most of the manufactur ers that are in popular use to the point where they're still developing wheels decades later.
So lastly, if you are in Motorsports, or you are the weekend warrior who's tracking every weekend, what are some of the things you definitely want to avoid?
If you're really going to be using the track a lot, make sure that you're inspecting your wheels frequently and well. Regard less of what brand you may purchase or its type of construction. Make sure there are no bends or cracks, because wheels are metal. They're not magic. It doesn't matter what wheel you have, whether it's forged, flow-formed, or cast. You're going to enter into a state where a wheel, if it's used hard enough and stressed well enough, is going to create metal fatigue over time. Wheels are a wear item, and people should constantly - especially if they're using them in a track environment - have an extremely frequent inspection process on their wheels.
Check the back, check the front, check the barrel, make sure you're not having any issues. And if you feel that you might be having an issue, it's always bet ter to spend a little bit of money, swap the wheel out, and ensure your safety - because that's the one thing that's holding everything on the road. If you're a racer and you're looking for used wheels, I think consider your budget - be fair to yourself. Don't beat yourself up trying to look for the most expensive thing or shoot yourself in the foot by finding the cheapest thing. Find the wheel that fits your budget and allows you to go out and race safely. Enjoy your weekend so that you can stay on track as much as possible. I think if you do that, you'll be able to climb as your budget increases and you'll be in a better position to race longer.

If you’ve been a reader ofPASMAG for a few years, there’s a good chance you’re already familiar with Dione Mascunana - or at least his previous Porsche Cayman build. With one of the wildest Cayman builds in the world under his belt, Mascunana set his sights on another build to debut at another SEMA show. With such an insane build already attached to his name, he knew he couldn’t disappoint. He chose a chassis that everyone loves, with a ton of potential: A rst generation NA8 1994 Mazda Miata. Pop-up headlights included.
s you might expect, and as you can see at rst glance, wild style was on the menu for this Miata build. You might immediately recognize the Rocket Bunny Pandem kit, and the fact that the kit isn’t the most out-of-this-world part of the whole build really sets the tone for what to expect here, but let’s start at the beginning. Upon taking ownership of a perfectly clean Miata, Mascunana’s rst order of business was to ensure it felt as good as new. A quick clean, a fluid change, and all sorts of brand new OEM parts, upgraded hardware, and bushings went on right away.
One of the internet’s most popular - and polarizingMiata builds.
While the focus of the build overall was eye-popping, show-stealing visuals, he didn’t leave the engine bay completely untouched. Mascunana does love to drive his cars, after all. Under the hood you’re met with the same cleanliness as you might imagine, with some quality bolt-on mods for the 1.8L Mazda. A Flyin' Miata turbo kit with all accompanying goodies and a Skunk2 manifold are immediately noticeable. A Koyorad radiator ensures coolant temps stay low in that California heat, and his custom air-boxed intake takes center stage. Other engine mods include ID1050X injectors and Flyin' Miata's flex fuel kit to run E85, an ATI damper, as well as AWR race engine mounts to keep things solid.
The plethora of suspension work under this Miata ensures that the car can reliably handle the corners time and time again, just as the Miata platform was intended. Billet upper control arms and tubular lower control arms from V8Roadsters can be found here, as well as ample bracing and sway bar components from Racing Beat. More goodies from Flyin’ Miata can be found in the form of their butterfly brace, Paco Motorsports strong arms, and billet rear sway bar brackets. AST 3-way coilovers with Swift springs do most of the heavy lifting in the corners,
and with a widened track width, we imagine this thing handles like a go-kart!
The emphasis on style begins at ground level with the set of 16-inch HYDRON+ Superdisc wheels poking out from the body, wrapped in a set of race slick tirescertainly grippy enough for the platform. From there, it only gets wider and wilder. From the Rocket Bunny Pandem kit, to the Toyoshima side
skirts w/ hand-made custom extensions, the front splitter and neighboring aggressive canards, the vented hood, hard top, and duckbill spoiler, this Miata is far from ordinary. Finished in Ferrari Rosso Red paint, it’s the perfect color to stand out.
Built to be driven, the interior is a combination of race-ready parts and comfort zone modifications. Mascunana is held in place via Recaro Pro Racer kevlar seats, which
also feature HANS capabilities for when he takes the Miata to its limit on the track. Schroth Profi III belts keep driver and passenger snug in place, with optional belt pads to maintain street comfort for all. The modified center console comes courtesy of IL Motorsports, who also supplied the pedal set, giving this Miata a true racer-for-the-street feel. Tying the look together up front of the cockpit is a Reverie carbon fiber
315mm steering wheel, affixed to a Krontec quick-release. The interior is simple and functional, with the perfect amount of minimalist styling to complement the wild styling of the exterior, which remains the focal point of the entire build.
Some custom lighting work, neat additions like the pop-up headlight controller, and a constantly evolving spec sheet continue to give this Miata all the charm it needs to steal the
show, much like Mascunana’s Cayman build before it. All in all, the “OMG Miata” is a jaw-dropper no matter who or where you are. Mascunana tells us he has some secret plans for a more powerful engine transplant in the near future, so the story isn’t even done here. In the meantime, you can catch him enjoying the car the way it was meant to be enjoyed - on the street! We can’t wait to see what comes next.

Jack of all trades is a phrase that best describes the Subaru BRZ. Having a car that truly does it all sounds pretty far-fetched, but if you start looking more into the BRZ, you see more and more people using it for the many di erent genres of motorsports. Here at ISC, our goal is no di erent. We are going to put this car through its paces and push this car in each type of scenario. Like the BRZ, ISC Suspension products are versatile, and can be changed and adjusted for these different disciplines. The car is rigid, yet forgiving. Playful in all the right places. Lightweight and agile, this car truly de nes what a sports car is. How is it such a good sports car with only 228 horsepower? Well, it’s the fact that you can use all 228hp to really push this car. You can use the whole power band and drive this car aggressively - even on the street - without going into too much trouble.
So with that being said, we will be putting this car through four di erent tests over the season of 2022. We already had it out on the ice at a whopping 110mph. Next, we will be pushing this car through some rally type driving, drifting, autocross/track, and nally slam this thing with some nice wheels and head to a show. From ice drifting to car shows, it truly will be the jack of all trades.
Anti seize your coilover threads in all places where collars and bottom mount sit.
Next, get the car up in the air. If using jack stands, place them on the pinch welds of the car.
Starting with the rear of the car, take the rear wheel o . 5 19mm lug nuts.
Remove the 4 bolts from the stock rear control arm.
Let the control arm hang out of the way supported by the bolt closest to the middle of the car. However if you are also installing ISC control arms, you can remove the stock arm completely at this time.
Remove the stock toe arm.
Take out trunk panels to gain access to the top 2 strut nuts.
Remove the 2 nuts that hold the stock strut in place. It is a good idea to have a friend hold the strut so it doesn't drop onto the floor. now moving on to the front
Install ISC coilover by rst securing it with sliding it into the 2 holes in the trunk and securing it with 2 included nuts.
Reinstall trunk panels.
Next, we are installing the isc control arm. We recommend setting the length of the ISC arm, to the length of the stock arm for installation, and then adjustments should be made after. Install the control arms with the 4 included nuts and bolts.
Same step with the toe arm, set it to factory length, and adjust later. Install toe arm with new included hardware. Now the rears are done!
Remove the 2 nuts holding the factory brace in. Line up the new brace and reinstall the nuts.
Remove the 2 nuts on the sway bar endlink and remove stock endlink.
Remove the 2 nuts from the strut mount.
Remove the bolts and now the strut is separated from the knuckle.
Let the knuckle hang forward (be careful not to stretch brake lines).
Remove the top 3 nuts and take the stock strut out.
Install coilover by sliding it into the top and tighten the 3 nuts.
Slide the coilover bottom mount on the strut, and re install the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, securing the coilover onto the knuckle.
Re-attach brake line and sensor.
Install new adjustable swaybar endlink.
Last portion of the install is the ISC brz/86 front control arm brace if you opt for them.
Now, we set the preload on the spring. Preload is the distance the spring is compressed from its free length as it is installed with the suspension fully extended. With these coilovers, you'll want to add 5MM of preload. So rst things rst, you'll want to loosen the spring collars so you can wiggle the spring back and forth and it doesn't have tension on it. Next, tighten that collar up so there is no wiggle room and the spring is rm in place now. The spring is now in place and ready for preload. In this Demonstration we will be using the dual collar method.
Now you can put your wheels back on and start playing with ride height. Keep in mind once you let your car down on the ground, you'll want to roll it back and forth to make the suspension settle before you start changing ride height.
Adjusting your damping. These coilovers have a 32 way adjustable damping system. Insert your allen damping adjuster knobs into the top of your coilovers. You can make the car ride softer or sti er, up to you! It's a good idea to turn them all to the max, and then back them o 16 clicks. This will put your dampers right in the middle between harsh and soft. Then you can adjust from there after you drive the car.

When you plop yourself down into your ride that’s sitting on the floor, and then hit a button to air-up to a pre-adjusted ride height that’s suitable to cruise around at, it’s one of the best feelings in the world, right? Almost as good as when you park again, lay frame, and usually drop a jaw or two in the vicinity. Has it ever crossed your mind how we got here, though? When did air suspension make it into a vehicle and how has it progressed to this point? Well, we’ve been feeling studious, so we’re about to lay it all out like a VIP LS400.
The concept itself of using air in a suspension system goes back as far as 1901. A British engineer by the name of Archibald Sharp, who was known for his contributions to bicycle and tricycle advancements during the Victorian era, had the bright idea of reducing road shock to the rider of a bicycle by use of his invention: the “rolling packing tube” or “rolling mitten seal.” This tapered, natural-rubber cylinder in conjunction with a piston would be the first of what we now call air springs. Sharp’s springs were actually used on the front and rear of a motorcycle pro
duced by the aptly-named Air Springs Ltd from 1909 to 1914.
Fast forward to 1920, and the first aftermarket air suspension systems were available for purchase through a French inventor by the name of George Messier, who also specialised in hydraulic systems, specifically for aircraft landing gear. From 1922 to 1930, you could purchase a pneumatic suspension kit through the man himself to apply to your own vehicle or buy one of his own Messier automobiles with the system already equipped to “iron out road irregulari ties in a remarkable fashion.”
Pneumatic suspension systems use air to raise and lower a car, while hydraulic systems use fluid. Hydraulic systems, like those you’ve seen in dancing lowriders, are used because of faster reaction from the fluid pressure and the independent height adjustability on each of the individual shocks. Pneumatic systems tend to be slower to inflate and deflate, but deliver a much more comfortable driving experience, and can sometimes increase the load capacity of the vehicle they’re installed on over traditional suspension.
In 1954, pneumatic and hydraulic suspension technologies were combined into a hydropneumatic system by the French automaker Citroën. Hydropneumatic systems usually use a spherical tank filled with pressurised nitrogen and hydraulic oil that’s mounted to the top of each shock. The combination of the air and fluid is able to absorb bumps in the road very e ciently, providing a super comfortable ride, hence the nickname “magic carpet ride.” Hydropneumatic systems have been used in MercedesBenz models, Bentleys, Rolls Royces, and even Toyota used a version of the suspension during the ‘90s as “Toyota
and even Toyota used a version of the suspension during the ‘90s as “Toyota Active Control.”
In its early adoption history, air suspension was used solely for functional means. To see its function ignored for the sake of getting low, weirdly enough, we’ve got to start in the o -road truck community. The trickle-down combination of self-levelling suspension from trucking and height adjustability from luxury cars made its way to o -road enthusiasts, who lapped it up to deal with a lot more than just a few potholes. These rugged systems further trickled down to mini truck builders - the first group to really embrace air suspension to ride lower.
Looking for any way to scrape pavement, mini trucks were installing systems from their larger, o -road counterparts and flipping the script for the least amount of road clearance possible. When this ingenuity started making waves in the mini truck scene and garnering major points in the ‘90s, the world of compact car modification wanted in. As you can imagine, a system meant for a large truck required some fabrication and sacrifice to fit a mini truck, so you would need a miracle to fit those large air springs in a Civic. There were those who pulled it o by cutting into their unibody, but for everyone else, something emerged for a more installation-friendly experience: air cylinder systems.

Instead of a rubber air spring or shock and coil, air cylinder systems featured a small, all-metal cylinder instead. The cylinders had an air chamber inside; created when a piston slid into the open end. The piston featured rings and seals to keep the air sealed in the chamber when compressed inside the cylinder. How big or small that chamber of air within the cylinder was correlated to how high or low your car sat. Vehicle specific mounting brackets made installation almost bolt-on and you could even add on parts like accumulators and slow-down valves to act like shock absorbers. There’s no substitute for the real thing though, and lack of a spring or shock made the ride from air cylinder setups pretty gnarly, not to mention their less than stellar reliability.

In 1950, a recognizable name in the industry, Air Lift Company, developed their own rubber air spring. It fit right in the standard steel coil spring of a car, and when the air spring expanded, it kept the steel spring from compressing all the way, which stopped suspension sag and increased the load the car could bear - something that ended up being very important for racing. After developing a foothold in stock car racing during the ‘60s, Air Lift would go on to develop their air spring technology alongside drag racers and other major motorsports, like NASCAR.
After helping the U.S. military develop air suspension for aircrafts and trucks during World War II to save weight and provide self-levelling features, GM equipped the first factory-installed air suspension system on the Cadillac Eldorado Brougham in 1957. Since then, almost every auto manufacturer has offered a model with air suspension installed as original equipment, with a more modern example being the height adjustable suspension on the Tesla Model S.
Air cylinders are back with a vengeance and actually useful this time! Air cups are very small air cylinders that sit over the top of your coilover’s (usually slammed) springs. At the touch of a button, compressed air causes the cup to lift, creating an air chamber between itself and the piston that sits on top of your coilover spring, which generates the couple inches you need to clear a speedbump, parking entrance, or trailer ramp. Since air cups are used for clearance issues only, you don’t have to deal with the harsh ride of air cylinders and they don’t affect the ride you already get from your coilovers when the cups aren’t in use - a win-win!
The early 2000s saw the explosion of car modification as it hit the mainstream and vehicle-specific parts started to become more available on store shelves. With that explosion in North America came a rumble from Japan in the form of integrated air suspension systems specifically built for cars.
The Japanese company at the forefront of this development was Air Runner. Their new systems employed a bolt-on strut for a specific vehicle, almost like a coilover, but instead of a spring, a small air bag or bladder was sleeved onto the strut to allow for height adjustment. Also like a coilover, these air struts allowed for damping and camber adjustment, which was unparalleled adjustability for an air suspension system at the time. These systems came as a full kit as well, so you would get all the wiring and plumbing, plus an air tank and compressor - you just needed an install and the knowledge of how to work your manual paddle valve management and you were good to go!
Now, the floodgates have opened and we have seen so much improvement in the arena of integrated air suspension. There are vehicle-specific kits for just about any platform you can think of and the management systems are frankly mind-blowing. When you order an air suspension kit with digital management now, you can expect features like preset ride heights for your specific model, automatic damping adjustment, and even external control of your system from your smartphone. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me if someone announced a new management system that starts making you a breakfast sandwich while your air compressor winds up.
Well, we’ve come full circle. When you press that button on a touchscreen to air up and take off to the meet, just think that we might not have air suspension as we know it today if a British dude didn’t think he’d like his bicycle to be a little more comfy while he pedalled down the cobblestone road outside his house. And I think we can all be thankful that somewhere an EG hatch isn’t having its unibody hacked up to house a truck’s air system in the hopes of taking home a trophy at the big show next season. History class wasn’t that bad, right?

When you hear the name Dress Up Bolts, you likely think of colored hardwarefound littered throughout a vehicle'sengine bay. What once was a unique modi cation is now expected if you are planning to show o your car and take home a title at your next show. While we feel we have played a big part in making dress up hardware the norm, we also have never been ones to stop pursuing new opportunities.
ver the last few years, we have noticed how competitive the car show scene has become. Modi cations that used to draw massive crowds at shows are looked over. This has evolved everyone's approach to their projects. In order to be competitive you have to have an all-encompassing vision for your car from bumper to bumper. This led to our realization
that we were leaving hardware locations untouched that incorporated these new visions. That is why last year we started to inventory new hardware sizes so we could develop vehicle speci c hardware kits beyond what was under the hood.
This shift in focus has allowed us to create a multitude of hardware kits and products that include door kits, trunk kits, seat kits, fuel door
kits, with other options coming later this year including three piece wheel hardware and lug nuts! It’s kind of funny to think it took us this long to see the hardware opportunities that
are in our face every time we open the door to get in our cars. We are working to release these new kits for current platforms we already have engine bay kits for, as well as all new platforms we introduce. The best part is we have gone ahead and made all of the unique hardware sizes we have had to inventory for these new locations available on our website so you can build out your very own kits.
With these new hardware kits we are creating the opportunity to have a unied hardware color and design without
ever needing to measure a single bolt. That's been our goal from the beginning - to make it as easy as possible for everyone to be able to focus on their vehicle’s hardware.
Additionally, our three piece wheel hardware and lug nut options will be available later this year. To stay up-todate on all of our product releases be sure you follow us on Instagram @dressupbolts and subscribe to our YouTube channel and checkout our current selection of hardware options by visiting www.dressupbolts.com.
