Fall Prevention and Balance Forensic Friday TUESDAY, AUG. 9, 10:30 A.M. with Scott Baylor GLH Solarium

Join us to hear how our Outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapists can assist you. Come learn about a state-of-the-art balance training and assessment system that, in all of Lancaster County, is only available to our residents at Masonic Village. Imagine you are a crime scene investigator, and you are investigating a murder. The victim was slashed with a sharp scythe. Kind of unique, huh? The problem is, you have 15 suspects, all with the same type of scythe. What do you do? In another scenario, a banker is kidnapped, the ransom is paid and the banker is returned. He was blindfolded throughout the entire ordeal and cannot identify his kidnappers, yet he manages to give the police enough evidence to catch the mobster. These are just a couple of the cases we will be discussing during Forensic Friday.

MASONIC VILL AGE

Rooster’s Woodshop The Rooster’s Woodshop is capable of producing custom furnishings and novel items from wood, and members can also perform minor repairs to furniture upon request. Many assorted items are produced by members, and all items on display are for sale. Their current highlighted project is new bluebird houses. (The bluebirds love them!) Each house is made from 3/4” Red Oak and has a 4-inch square interior with a perforated metal screen laid above the floor for the bird to make its nest. The left side of the house will pivot when the keeper pin is removed. This permits easy clean-out after the chicks have left their nest. The front of the birdhouse has an added “porch.” It has fishline strung, so only the bluebird can access their nest. Mounting holes are located above the roof and below the floor for secure installation to a post. Stop by the showroom to see these and the many other creations produced by members! The Rooster’s Woodshop showroom is open Monday through Friday, 8 – 11 a.m. and 1 – 3 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 – 11 a.m.
