INTRODUCTION 23

Hello!

Laura Dougherty

Welcome to issue 11 of Creative Stamping. This month’s free stamp set features 15 kids’ hobbies-themed images and sentiments suitable for a whole host of themes and occasions including back to school, thank you teacher, birthdays, friendship and much more. We asked designers from some of our favourite craft shops and manufacturers around the country to share their ideas for making the most of the set, and you’ll find their inspiring results as you flick through the magazine. The team from House of Zandra demonstrate how to colour images using the popular Graph’it markers on page 10, Sharon Callis from Crafter’s Companion shows us how to perfect the paper-piecing technique on page 18. Crimson Cloud celebrates teenagers’ birthdays on page 26, and on page 43 the Design Team at Dragonfly Designs have created cards for all occasions – with stunning results. Lisa Horton from That Craft Place takes a look at how to use the free stamps for thank you and birthday creations on page 46, while Vicky Welsby shows us how to use the bonus digi stamps available from www.creativemagazines.com on page 50. Plus there’s some fantastic ideas for children’s desk items on page 57, and a guide to using PanPastels on page 60. You’ll also find cards made using the latest releases from Dreamees (page 14), Little Claire (page 22), Katy Sue Designs (page 31), Cutting Edge Crafts (page 37), Funky Kits (40) and Funky Hand (page 52). Happy stamping!

HOW TO… COLOUR USING GRAPH'IT MARKERS

2

Add the medium colour along each side as shown.

3

Apply your darkest colour right next to the outer edges, then take your lightest colour and go over the middle section, just catching the edges of the medium colour to give a nice blend.
