Birmingham City University The Faculty of Health is the largest Health Faculty in the UK with a student population of 7,000 students undertaking a range of provision at both under and postgraduate levels including doctoral and postdoctoral study. We are the largest provider of health and social care professionals in the West Midlands offering programmes in nursing, midwifery, radiography, radiotherapy, speech and language therapy and social work all at degree level. University of Huddersfield The University of Huddersfield: School Of Human and Health Sciences delivers undergraduate and postgraduate education for healthcare professions. We work in partnership with commissioners and local service providers to meet the needs of people with diabetes and other health issues, providing consultancy on service development, health professional education and creating opportunities for collaborative research.
We offer a range of postgraduate courses focussing on health. We provide an MSc in Advanced Practice in Diabetes Care, bespoke training, study days and accredited modules for healthcare professionals, including: diabetes service redesign, managing patients with type 2 diabetes, managing patients treated with injectable therapies and foot screening. We also offer e-learning modules in wound care management and diabetes annual review. The university works with other higher education establishments and diabetes care organisations, in hosting a collaborative diabetes conference for primary care. Our team has contributed to a clinically focussed textbook on diabetes (Principles of Diabetes Care).

The University of Northampton The University of Northampton comprises of faculties of Health, Business, Education, Social Sciences, Arts, Science and Technology. The School of Health is the largest faculty and provides undergraduate and postgraduate education for nurses, midwives, occupational therapists, social workers, podiatrists, paramedics and dental nurses. The Hull York Medical School is a unique collaborative partnership across two host UK Universities – the University of Hull and University of York – and our healthcare partners in the National Health Service. The Department of Health Sciences and Hull York Medical School provide education and research opportunities for all members of the Health Community and within Diabetes Care we have a sustained record of excellence in the education and vision we provide. Hull York Medical School prides itself on its integrated approach with our community and primary care colleagues. At York we offer diabetes education from foundation degree to Masters and PhD and also offer education regarding Children & Young People with Diabetes, Advancing Insulin Delivery and Blood Glucose Monitoring Technologies, Adult Diabetes Care and Service Redesign through ethical and transformational leadership. We offer this as Study days, conferences, modules, or degree pathways. Our MSc programme is about to go on-line and will be jointly validated with the Department of Health Sciences and Hull York Medical School.
