WE WELCOME YOU TO THE 7TH ANNUAL ELITE GENETICS BULL SALE! Some might say it was hard to stay optimistic in in 2020, but I am a cup half full type of guy! We saw higher then normal prices in 2020 for grain and livestock markets, favorable weather and an abundance of feed. Our first Black Angus calves hit the ground last spring and Jess and I are really enjoying building a bigger Angus herd that is backed by the strong Rideau name. The 2020 Hereford calf crop was amazing in quality and substance and I believe it showed during the Elite Genetics Production Sale in October and especially in this years Elite Genetics Bull Sale offering. We truly had much to be thankful for. Covid and politicians threw us many curve balls this year. There were no shows to go to and sales were at limited capacities, which in turn made it hard to meet with all of our customers and friends. In a weird way though I believe it got us thinking outside the box on many things, especially when it came to marketing and promoting our programs. Social media became a very import part to the strategy and the importance of having an online sale and bidding platform was essential. That said we are very happy to have Liveauctions.tv with us on sale day! The Elite Genetics Sale group prides itself on being progressive operations and breeders. We have made management and breeding selection decisions that are proving to increase productivity, quality, consistency, and profit in our product that will pass onto you, in your product. The depth and quality of this year’s offering is second to none, and this year’s sale offers a diverse group of breeding tools. Hereford, Angus and Charolais genetics make up this year’s sale, three breeds that complement any cross breeding program! We are excited to have Rideau Angus Farm and Butler Valley Livestock with us as new consignors this year adding some new progressive genetics. McCaw Livestock again have also brought some exceptional Charolais power bulls.

With over 35 yearlings presented in this group of bulls, they offer up a great set of breeding tools for the commercial or purebred breeders. Whether you need to add performance and carcass to your backgrounding and feeder operations or, add maternal power to develop replacements, this group of bulls will do it. Our calving ease bulls are designed to maintain growth and performance as well, which will make calving time easier for you, but put money in your pocket come fall. Many Elite Genetics customers are repeat and multiple buyers. This tells us that it’s not just a bull business, but also a people business. Our customers are pleased with the product, but more importantly happy with an honest, reputable and knowledgeable service. The continued support from our customers is what is keeping us in a business that we love. Elite Genetics takes pride in this detail.

I don’t believe that we have ever raised a bull calf that is this impressive and this complete of a package. Everyone that has seen him throughout the season has been blown away. Double Down offers a lot. Start off with structure and movement; he puts it together perfect. A big solid foot, great skeleton and very fluid in his movement. His skeleton carries so much mass, muscle and shape. The amount of meat and muscle is tremendous. He is soggy made, deep hipped and big topped. Double down is also attractive looking and well balanced, big goggles, pigment, freckles and big red testicles. His EPD profile boasts big performance numbers and very high maternal numbers. His dam has out produced herself again and his sire All In is leaving a very big stamp on his progeny. Both dam and sire have an amazing show record to back them up as well. 2019 MLE Champion Female, 2019 Bonanza Champion Two Year Old, and 2018 CWA Canadian National Junior Bull Champion, to name a few. We feel that there is a big future with Double Down! Ranks top 5% REA, 15% WW and YW, 20% TM and 25 MM Indexes 123 on WW, 117 on YW

RSK FARMS
Andrew Kopeechuck 204-573-9529 Rae & Stephanie Kopeechuk Rae 204-761-7895 Stephanie 204-761-5228
RSK Farms is a family-run mixed farm which began operation in 1984. The cow calf facilities are located approximately 7 miles east of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada along the Trans-Canada Highway. Bulls and females are developed 5 miles north of Douglas, MB at a second farm site. Sale and show cattle along with our donors are kept there as well. RSK Farms breeds approximately 160 females which consist of Purebred Polled Hereford and Commercial Cross cattle. The land base consists of roughly 3 ½ sections of both owned and rented land which is into annual crop, rotated perennial and annual pasture, for forage production and grain and hay sales. RSK Farms uses AI and ET breeding strategies to source some of the breed’s top genetics and in turn use our top producing females to create quality offspring that display improved consistency, performance maternal traits and carcass. Our herd are true beef cows, developed over generations of sound breeding, elite genetics and balanced traits. Our cow herd grazes as much as possible and are only brought into the yards for calving. Once in, they are feed a silage, hay, straw mixture. Replacement females are fed the same but supplemented with oats/pellet blend. All of the sale bulls have free choice oat/pea bailage and hay and are pail fed the same oats/pellet mixture in a big area that provides plenty of exercise, which in turn promotes muscle developments over fat. All RSK bulls will be guaranteed to be free of DLF, HYF, IEF, MSUDF and MDF. Please note the some bulls are pending. SPRING AND FALL VACCINATIONS CONSIST OF: Pyramid 5 plus Presponse as an aid in the prevention of disease caused by IBR, BVD Types 1&2, PI3 and BRSV, and as an aid in reduction of severity of pneumonic pasteurellosis caused by Mannheimia haemolytica. Covexin 8 Plus to protect against diseases caused by Cl. chauvoei (black leg), Cl. haemolyticum (bacillary hemoglobinuria), Cl. novyi Type B (black disease or infectious necrotic hepatitis), Cl. perfringens Type B (lamb dysentery), Type C (hemorrhagic enterotoxemia), Type D (pulpy kidney), Cl. septicum (malignant edema) and Cl. tetani (tetanus). Pour on Ivermectin products are administered as well. Also Maxi Guard is given in the spring, before heading to pasture that controls Moraxella bovis bacterin for the prevention and control of pinkeye. At the time of fall booster shots, Quiet Weans (yellow nose clips) are inserted into the calves noses to prevent nursing and are left in for 5 days. This proves to be very effective for a low stress weaning solution. Strict emphasis is put on structural soundness, testicular development, do ability, performance, functionality and disposition! Genetics from RSK Farms have been consigned to many sales over the past years and can be found throughout North America and the Globe. RSK Farms has had great success over the years showing and exhibiting cattle across the country. Showing cattle gives us another tool to gauge and evaluate how our herd is performing, and along with customer successes, we take pride in our track record.

Harper 70H is a powerful, long sided meat machine that will add some performance to his calf crop, but the best part might be his dam and the amazing cow family that she represents. She is one of the “OG” Tamara’s, one of the ones that started the cow family. Harper’s dam was the very first Hereford female to win the Little Lady Classic at AgEx and multiple class winner. This power made, stylish Truman x Tamara will be packed full of maternal, grow your herd type of traits, combining maternal and performance. Ranks top 20% for WW, Indexes 101 on YW

Command completes the package with beautiful balance and appeal, great extension in his front with a skull and shoulder structure that makes me feel comfortable in using him on heifers. Genetically, Command is jam packed with greatness. His sire, Endure is one of the most talked about Homoz Polled performance bulls to surface in some time. OTAPAWA LEONORA P23 HARVIE MISS NYLON 1Y What can I say about this guy that you don’t already know! Digby is a direct son from one of the breeds most influential females, Firefly 51F! Digby is one of the most correct, fluid moving bulls in the breed. If you are needing to fix structure and movement, then he is the one! He has a presence and stature that can’t be copied. Long necked and long spinned, he will add pounds and performance to progeny all while maintaining appeal and its evident in his progeny. Digby was very successfully show in 2017 being named: CWA Canadian National Champion Bull and RBC top 10 Finalist, Herefordbreeder.net Champion of North America, AG EX Champion Hereford Bull, Manitoba Summer MOE Champion Bull and Harding Supreme Champion Bull! Digby was in stud a lot of his early days, and needless to say we should have AI’d him a lot heavier seeing the progeny he is leaving us. He walks now at RSK with many more great years to come. Owned with Ehlke Herefords.
This guy has been an eye catcher from the start. A son of the Genex sire Playbook 48D, he has the length and shape that would work well for most. Out of a hard working momma cow with a very good udder. Maternal sister sold to Duncan Lees as a bred heifer in Good as Gold online sale this past December. Recommended for cows.

Hello and welcome to this years Elite Genetics Bull Sale. First off we would like to say how much of an honour it is to be part of this years sale. The Kopeechuks have been great friends of ours for a very long time now and our small purebred Hereford herd got started with RSK genetics. This year we are offering up two bulls that have been real eye catchers since they were born. We believe that our bulls have the potential to go out and get the job done while adding that boost to a herd. Feel free to stop by the farm anytime before the sale to tour the bulls and the rest of our herd.
A very complete and attractive bull out of a Leader son that we purchased from RSK. Out of a first calf heifer, he weaned very well for being a March calf. A calving ease bull with some power and frame, should make him an ideal choice for cows or heifers.

RIDEAU ANGUS FARM
Welcome to our first of many Angus Bull offerings in the RSK Farms Elite Genetics Bull Sale. The Rideau Angus Farm Herd started in 1944 by my grandfather Jim Peaker. He aways strove to breed very functional easy doing cattle who were performance driven. Both my parents and I have carried on that tradition over the years when selecting and breeding the herd that my grandfather started. Since moving to Douglas I have brought a small group of cows with me and my parents still have the rest of the herd back in Ontario. These two bulls on offer will be the start of the angus division for the RSK Farms Sale and we are excited to build and offer a larger selection of genetics in years to come. We have always selected on good quality and high efficiency animals that are built to last. Feel free to stop in anytime and see the cowherd as my grandfather always said “the proof is in our pastures”.

405H is out of one of our main donor cows the “liberty belle” family. He is backed with calving ease and performance. His sire TEX Playbook is continually breeding calves with lots of base and muscle expression and breed leaders for weaning weight, docility and milk traits. This guy is much like his farther, just a march calf he possesses extreme docility, hes very long bodied, thick topped and very structurally correct.

In the past we have purchased three Charolais bulls from McCaw Livestock. The bulls have a great disposition, but most importantly show up here as yearlings and fit right into our ranching environment. Wacey has developed these bulls with workability and longevity in mind so when they begin there breeding career as a yearling they can stand up to the work load and environment while at the same time continue to mature to be big herd bulls. We sure have not had a year of “normal”; rather it has been a year of many ups and downs. But one thing that has endured the challenges through this Pandemic, as they call it, is Agriculture. It was not set back in the least. It remained resilient as it could through all the uncertainties that we faced. Big cattle were met with big demand this fall. To produce this type of cattle, we are continually focusing on keeping our birth weights in check, while producing calves that push the scale down on the 205-day weights. We place a lot of emphasis on vigor, and this trait has become an extremely important selection criterion. This attribute has been a true testament over the last couple of weeks. Working off the farm every day during this cold and miserable weather has shown us the importance of calf vigor. Those nice, shaped calves with a lot of vigor come running out and they just do not look back. This has given us a piece of mind through this cold spell. As we all know, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, all shows were cancelled and there were no extra events held. In turn, this allowed us more time to work with this group of bulls. We are extremely excited to be able to share them with you on March 28th at Douglas Mb. This set of bulls is totally unique, in several ways. On paper, these bulls read very well and should intrigue any cattlemen no matter your colour preference. Their disposition and easy demeanor are second to none. In fact, when walking through the pen they are a pain because they always want scratched! Thanks to Shailyn for giving all the extra time to them. I swear she must go out there every time she is mad at me or when she thinks I have a stupid idea... All joking aside, she has spent a lot of time with them. Things have not changed a lot at McCaw Livestock. We are always striving to continue to produce quality cattle that will allow them to go out and be able to work for you. We have had the privilege to work with some very astonishing cattlemen and women that have helped us excel. We sincerely appreciate that and look forward to the continued success that we can share together. With that being said, we are doing something a little different this year and will continue to do so. We are offering a 2% discount to repeat customers. Just a small token of our appreciation of what you have done for us that has helped us get here today. So again, thank you. We will be happy to house your purchase until the beginning of May. After this date, we will deliver them to your place. This will allow them to familiarize themselves with their surroundings, settle in, and perform for you as soon as you want them to. We understand that this timeframe may not work for some, so we are more than happy to accommodate. And as always, if there are ever any problems with your purchase, please let us know. We will work together to find a solution. Thank you, again, to all our past customers. We look forward to creating new relationships and building strength together off them. Cheers and we look forward to sharing this offering with you.

A couple of weeks younger than his half brothers, but certainly not far behind. He has a look that shows a lot of natural thickness. The package that he displays is very complete in design. Come for a tour or a give us a call. I don’t know which one is our favourite, but we would love to talk more about them. The maternal sister out of Commissioner is about to calve here any day and she is one we would love to brag about - the udder development and teat placement on her is fascinating! HERD BULL ALERT! These bulls are a result of a very successful flush. Every time I go into the pen and admire them, they are what makes the beef business fun. This flush would make my Dad proud with how the results have turned out. Both individuals are very completely made in their type and kind. They both are extremely sound in their foot and leg design. They both stride out in an elegant way that boasts their “look at me” presence. A maternal brother on their mother’s first crack was sold to Adam Knutson at Clay Enterprises. They have loved the way he has developed. Look no further as this is the real deal. Another maternal brother sells as lot 26 - MCL 983H. HERD BULL ALERT

HERD BULL ALERT! I don’t have many Angus bulls to offer but this bull is pretty special. This is a bull that is extremely well rounded. I believe he could go into a program(s) and make a difference. The genetic potential on this bull is endless. This is a red angus bull with MASS, strives in excellence with hard, dark FEET. This bull is not like your typical angus bull. The natural width in this bull’s pin set shows me, and will show you, the muscle definition that comes so easy for him to express all way down into his lower quarter. I want to draw your attention to the correctness in design of this bull’s leg structure and foot. He displays a lot of heel yet exhibits ample flex in his pastern. This bull has some strong, smooth bone on him to be able to carry the body mass. Excited to see what this guy’s future will be! It will all be in the eye of the beholder and it could be HUGE! Give a call about this bull. Would love to talk about him and his pen mates, as I am very proud of all of them.

We aim to produce hardy, hard working mothers from Hereford, Black Angus cross dams and punch up production with Black Simmental sires. These heifers are the top end of this pen as we select our own replacements from a different part of our program in order to continue bringing 3-way cross calves to market. These are April born calves who received Bovi Shield Gold and Ultrabac 7/Somubac approximately two months after birth, boostered two weeks before weaning and again two weeks before sale. Treated with Ivomec mid-December. Over winter they have been on a diet of Alfalfa grass hay and corn. Fenceline weaned in November.

Our first Hereford bull was a Traveller son from RSK and he did an awesome job giving us what we were looking for. He is heavily influenced here with many daughters raising calves for us. We have since bought a couple more bulls from the RSK program and Andrew has been after me to put a pen of replacements in the sales. It’s hard to offer these heifers as they fit so well into my own program. But I promised I’d bring a pen for the 2021 sale. This pen are RSK influenced more than just the sire. They have longevity performance and soundness bred into them. We are a VBPPlus farm and vaccinate with Covexin and Pyramid as well as Ivermectin pour on. 2 heifers sired by our Freestyle son and out of Traveller X Charolais cows.
