ACHIEVEMENT DAY 2024
JUNE 24thof Kemnay Recreation Centre
South Brandon Carroll
The South Brandon Carroll 4-H Beef Club has a very long history having been active for 60 years. Unfortunately, the club folded after the 2012 4-H year due to lack of members. When I heard talks of some community members wanting to resurrect the club and having been a past member myself, I jumped at the opportunity to help, and along with my fellow leaders, Janette Williamson, Curtis Gerow and Diane Kovar, we were able to get the club rolling again.
I am very proud to say that this has been a very successful year for our club, our members had the opportunity to learn so much this year.
In November - Blair McRae came to speak to the members about what to look for when picking a market animal to show.
In January - the members had a communications workshop with Diane Kovar to get prepared for our communications event in February.
In April - Alisha George-Birmingham did a hands-on demonstration with our members about Cattle vaccinations.
In May- we had a practice day held at Curtis Gerow’s farm where our members got to learn how to groom their animals and how to show their animals with Andrew Kopeechuk and Jessy Milne-Smith. Thanks again to Blair, Diane, Alisha, Curtis, Andrew, and Jessy.
We had our communications event in February where we sent seven of our members onto Zones. From Zones two of our members Dawson Cruickshanks and Hailey Klassen went onto Areas and Provincials where Hailey would go on to win the Adult Speech category.
Our members also participated in a couple of fundraisers this year by selling first aid kits as well as selling desserts at the Mar Mac Farms Bull Sale and Rooke Farms open house. Thank you to everyone that supported our club with these fundraisers.
I couldn’t be happier with how our year turned out and I look forward to the many years to come.
I know each one of our members is excited to show off the hard work they put into their animals this year.
Thank you again for supporting The South Brandon Carroll 4-H Beef Club.

Please
We would like to invite you to the South Brandon Carrol 4-H Beef Club achievement and steer sale on Monday, June 24th at the Kemnay Rink.
This is the first year for our 4-H Beef Club and we are excited to take part in our first show and sale. The Club used to exist in the area but took a break for many years, just now coming back to life with many new members.
This year our club has learned about picking your animals, feeding them and practicing grooming.
We also did club communication even in February and many of our members went on to compete at Zones, Area and even Provincial Communications.
We sure would love to have you come to achievement and see what we have done this year and fill your freezer with locally raised beef.
